uprockindude
Hi daf. got an issue which I'm hoping you (or anyone else who has been in a similar position) can help with.I've taken Dromara Village to the Premiership which we have won three times in a row. We've done alright in Europe and have about £3m in the bank. I asked the board to go pro and they agreed but nothing has happened and it's been about 6 months! Did you (or anyone else) have the same experience? it usually takes effect at the beggining of the season when the points get reset at least thats when it has happened to me the last 2 times
dafuge
dafuge, thanks for posting pics of your training schedules. What did you do when the club was still semi-professional? Did you use the same schedules? Also, what reputation did you give yourself at the start? I've used the same schedules since turning pro but I think I just used the default ones when semi-pro as I've never made part-time versions of my schedules. dafuge
Looks like a consortium is set to take over, and replace me as manager Dietmar Hoffman is a club legend with 576 appearances who is now back at the club as a goalkeeping coach. dafuge
Bourneview Young Men - Carling Premiership - 2074/75 The tycoons are long gone, so it is time that Northern Ireland starts a new era without the aid of (much) foreign money. League Table Linfield are back, which is great news. No sign of Glentoran challenging us though as we go another season unbeaten. Domestic Cups - a straight set of wins, with just one goal conceded. UEFA Super Cup - a one sided match. FIFA Club World Cup - another one sided match. UEFA Champions League - another straight set of wins, including an easy final. Glentoran in Europe - a great run, just a shame they met us again. Tobermore in Europe - a superb group stage but it all fell apart in Madrid. Newry in Europe - pretty pathetic. Linfield in Europe - really unlucky not to qualify from the group. Ballymena in Europe - they were well out of their depth. Squad - the average age of the squad is creeping up as there are a number of players who may need replacing. Transfers - a switch of wingers and a striker brought in to cover injuries. Premiership Transfers - Glentoran made a couple of great transfers. Key Player Profiles: Vitaly Melnikov - top scorer again, just a shame he's 28. Juan Antonio Torres - he was brought in to cover an injury crisis and made a huge impact. Abdallah Nahimana - should replace Eduardo next season. Laurent David - another young player who should become first choice soon. Patrick - one of the best players to come through our youth system in years. Half Brazilian, half Northern Irish. dafuge
Bourneview Young Men - Carling Premiership - 2075/76 A rebuilding job was needed on the squad, so this had the potential to be a tough season. League Table There was a big surprise as Ballymena took second place. Linfield had a shocker. Domestic Cups - not as convincing as last season, but we still won the lot. UEFA Super Cup - this was a horrible result in a match we should have won. FIFA Club World Cup - unusual opponents, usual result. UEFA Champions League - it was a shaky run which ended with a loss in a close final. Glentoran in Europe - did brilliantly to top the group, but Inter were too good for them. Tobermore in Europe - they struggled against the bigger clubs. Newry in Europe - nothing spectacular. Linfield in Europe - the tough group was too much for them. Ballymena in Europe - three wins wasn't enough to get them out of the group. Squad - there was a lot of change from last season, and there's likely to be more coming. Transfers - we made a huge profit as I cleared out a lot of the older players. Premiership Transfers - Glentoran still seem to be spending a bit. Key Player Profiles: Vitaly Melnikov - top scorer again, but it wasn't his best season. Juan Antonio Torres - did well again when needed. Patrick - the local lad is impressing at a young age. Pat Daws - always reliable. Laurent David - he's been made a first choice now. dafuge
Bourneview Young Men - Carling Premiership - 2076/77 This season saw the opening of the 131345 capacity Dafuge Arena, but it comes off the back of a Champions League final defeat at the hands of Barcelona. League Table A perfect season, for the first time in ages. Things look a bit more familiar at the top, with Ballymena falling back. Domestic Cups - we managed to lose two cup finals 1-0, to two different teams. UEFA Champions League - we struggled against the English clubs but made our way to another final. Last year Bracelona narrowly beat us, this year they hammered us. Glentoran in Europe - a decent run, finished by one terrible result in Madrid. Tobermore in Europe - shocking. Newry in Europe - very much like Glentoran, one terrible result ended their run. Ballymena in Europe - they were really lucky to finish third. Squad - we have quite a few older players now, so it could be time to completely rebuild the squad. Replacing the defence will be a tough one. Transfers - just a couple of youngsters brought in. Premiership Transfers - a very quiet year for Northern Irish clubs. Key Player Profiles: Vitaly Melnikov - top scorer, but not up to the standard of recent years. Juan Antonio Torres - was signed as a backup, but has done really well. Patrick - a superb youth academy product. Jesús Ferrari - he's got great pace and has improved greatly with his crosses. Craig Ricketts - he's been a legend for the club, but his time is up. Chutney132
Am I right in saying the only games you lost were in finals this season? Perhaps an issue with 'Big' games? Although most of them have won enough to not have that affect them...

Indeed, three losses in three finals Next season could be a bit different, I'm going to get more involved in the transfer market this time.
noikeee
Bit bizarre season, perfect apart from 3 matches and they were all key. Any ideas on what's causing the slight decline from your domestic rivals dafuge? And about that rebuilding of the squad you're looking at, what's the strategy there, doing it gradually or a revolution, buying established top players or youngsters that you can mould a bit? And about that rebuilding of the squad you're looking at, what's the strategy there, doing it gradually or a revolution, buying established top players or youngsters that you can mould a bit? The decline is down to the tycoons leaving at Tobermore and Newry, they made a massive difference. I'm going for a fairly big change to the squad this year, a large number of the '1st XI' have left, with some new younger players being brought in to replace them.
