Taunton
You have scored a goal in CL, and that should be the first target. The next is to get a point, and finally a win. Hope you win the league so you get a shot at CL next year as well.
hrbfcrule
Ouch! That's a heavy defeat. I hope the Champions League games don't disrupt the end of your domestic season. You're so close to retaining your title! Yer my team seem to be doing well in the league despite struggling badly in the Champions League. Tough start in the CL, but you've fought hard and long to get there, and I guess you only get better as time progresses. Keep going and you'll get there eventually. Yer it's going to take a while before we are able to compete with the teams in the Champions League group stages. By far and away the best story I have ever read. You have inspired me to take on a similar challenge soon. The layout is clear and easy to read, as well as being original. However, the most impressive aspect of this story is the achievement. You have won the league, got into the Champions League and won the Cup with a team predicted bottom of the bottom league, using only youth players. Wow. Top work, I cannot wait to read more! Thanks and good luck with your challenge You have scored a goal in CL, and that should be the first target. The next is to get a point, and finally a win.Hope you win the league so you get a shot at CL next year as well. After getting a win its to get 3rd place, then to qualify for the Champions League knockouts and eventually to win the group but all of those are a long way off
hrbfcrule
November 2035 League: Tord 4-2 Syrianska FC With our ambition to retain the title hanging by a thread now was not a good time to concede twice in the opening half an hour. But amazingly that managed to kickstart us into action. Albin Carlsson (YP55) scored twice while Viktor Andersson (YP53) and Peter Jansson (YP33) also got on the scoresheet. Malmo also won but this result made sure the title would go down to the last day. AIK drew which sent them out of the race and completed their end of season collapse. Champions League Group G: Napoli 5-1 Tord Surprisingly enough we didn't actually play too badly but Napoli's superior finishing really set us apart. Hakan Neilsen (YP47) scored our goal which is the least we deserve. League: Tord 2-1 Syrianska Kerburan Due to Malmo's better goal difference we needed a win to claim the title and hope Malmo fail to win their match. The pressure told as we struggled to a 0-0 at half time. Malmo weren't having the best of times either as they were locked in a 1-1 with Helsingborg by half time. We continued to labour in the 2nd half as news filtered through that Malmo had taken the lead in their match. Then almost out of nothing Jonas Andersson (YP49) netted for us with just 13 mins remaining. Our joy soon turned to despair as Syrianska took just 4 mins to equalise. With 5 mins remaining Helsingborg had managed to draw level against Malmo which meant if we could get a winner the title would be ours. In the 88th min Alexander Pettersson (YP61) managed to do just that, Jonas Andersson (YP49) collected the ball from a quick throw in and lashed the ball in for Pettersson (YP61) to volley home. Things got worse for Malmo as they conceded a 3rd in the 90th min to lose 3-2 and gift us the title. Friendly: Norway U21's 0-0 Sweden U21's After a long season this tired performance was understandable. At least we didn't lose. U21 Euro Championship Quals: Serbia U21's 2-2 Sweden U21's We managed to step it up for the match that mattered. We took the lead in the 14th min through Yadid Rahim. Serbia hit back hard in the 2nd half by scoring twice in 10 mins. Alexander Pettersson (YP61) salvaged a point in the 87th min but we definately deserved the win. Champions League Group G: Tord 0-4 Liverpool Another beating in the Champions League couldn't dampen our spirits after our dramatic last day title win. hrbfcrule
End of Season Report: IK Tord, Swedish Premier Division 2035 League Table, League Graph Squad We started off well with just 1 loss in the 1st 13 league matches. We were there or there abouts throughout the season and in the end it came down to the final game. By this time AIK had dropped out of the title race due to their 5 match winless run at the end of the season. It was between us and Malmo with Malmo just 1 point ahead. We needed to win and needed Malmo to lose or draw. We won and Helsingborg beat Malmo meaning we had retained our title and our place in the Champions League. Swedish Super Cup The last of the domestic trophies to elude us. We lost it 4 years ago to the same team, IK Sirius. They have now won it each of the past 5 seasons. Swedish Cup We got to the Quarter Final but we really should have got further due to a favourable draw. Champions League A great run this year, we beat Avenir Beggen in the 2nd Qualifying Round comfortably, 8-0 on aggregate before seeing off Metalurgs and BATE reasonably well also. This meant we had got the Champions League Group Stage at the 1st attempt. Unfortunately it hasn't quite gone our way since then. We conceded 19 and scored just 2 in the 5 matches so far. Champions League Group G U19's League A disappointing season considering how well we have done previously. A run of 7 league losses in a row was the main factor of our downfall Youth Players (At the Club) Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) - He's getting considerably worse which is a real shame as he has generally been fantastic for us. Anton Dahlberg (YP30) - He has still just about got enough in him for this level but maybe for just 1 or seasons more. Peter Jansson (YP33) - Our top scorer again this season with 18 goals will probably retire soon but I think we have enough quality to replace him sufficiently. Hakan Larsson (YP35) - Still an assist machine with another 15 this season as well as a few goals. Jorgen Melki (YP37) - Not as good as previous seasons as he did have a poor run in the middle of the season. Niklas Svensson (YP38) - Was brilliant for us in the league obviously the Champions League wasn't as great but thats not all his fault. Niclas Carlsson (YP39) - Played well in the league but for some reason was well below par in the cups. Erik Carlsson (YP41) - Hardly played at all as younger strikers overtook him in the pecking order. Martin Hansson (YP43) - Was much worse this season, hope last season wasn't just a flash in the pan. Joakim Dahlberg (YP44) - Getting unsettled again which may be a problem as we haven't had another decent keeper come through the youth system in ages. Magnus Kjellman (YP45) - Not as good as last season but still one of our better performers. Rasmus Svard (YP46) - No more appearances, just waiting for him to leave the club now. Hakan Neilsen (YP47) -Continues to exceed expectations, played brilliantly as left back or right back. Jonas Andersson (YP49) - Was brilliant at the start of the season scorin 7 in 10 but then got injured for 3 months and wasn't the same again. Erik Mansson (YP50) - Another good season for the centre back, is going to be a vital player for us in the coming seasons. Martin Persson (YP51) - As good as gone, like with Rasmus Svard (YP46) I am just waiting for his contract to run out. Roger Magnusson (YP52) - Was good again but was outshone by Hakan Neilsen (YP47) in the fullback department. Viktor Andersson (YP53) - Played a whopping 41 games this season and was solid in every one of them. Rikard Andersson (YP54) - Made a couple of appearances off the bench which were pretty poor, is leaving at the end of the season as I will not be renweing his contract. Albin Carlsson (YP55) - Even better than before, he has racked up over 100 league appearances for us and he is only 22. Erik Johannesson (YP56) - Still struggling to improve significantly, again a decent amount of game time but not a lot of quality. Simon Granlund (YP57) - Played a bit but I doubt he will be here for long. Jorgen Hajra (YP58) - Didn't play at all, looks like he will be following the footsteps of Rasmus Svard (YP46). Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) - A great season for him as he netted 12 in 37, not bad for a 19 year old. Oskar Johansson (YP60) - Didn't play much but he should play more once he has fully prepared himself to play at centre mid. Alexander Petterson (YP61) - A reasonable debut season, I'll reserve judgement on him for now but hopefully he will continue to improve. Finances - We were doing well but the Champions League Group Stage money has made a huge boost. Hopefully a similar campaign next season will give us enough money to fund the new stadium. hrbfcrule
Hey hrbfcrule,Is there any way I can contact you privately? It seems that your PM Box is full and I would love your permission to do something. Thanks! I have just emptied my pm box so you can pm now if you want. Back to back champions!! Well done. This thread is a classic. I hope you have the motivation to keep it up for a while more. Do you have time for other saves as well? Glad to see the swedes and the norwegians drew. Important to share with your friends and neighbours:) The only other save I have is a Chelsea save which I started playing in the demo, I have only played 3 seasons of it. I go to that save when Tord frustrate me (which is plenty of times ) as its pretty easy to win with a top club, much more relaxing.

Chris442
Looking at your appearances list, you once thought that Tony Thoren would be a legend for you. Was he as good as you expected? Also, another excellent season, I am sure that in three or four seasons time, you can challenge for 1st or 2nd place in the Group Stages.

hrbfcrule
Thanks everyone for the comments Looking at your appearances list, you once thought that Tony Thoren would be a legend for you. Was he as good as you expected? Also, another excellent season, I am sure that in three or four seasons time, you can challenge for 1st or 2nd place in the Group Stages. He was a great player but when I think of Tord's best players while I've been in charge he wouldn't come top of the list. My favourite would have to be Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) followed by Peter Jansson (YP33) and Jorgen Melki (YP37). Could you give a quick update on Cardiff please? fantastic thread League History They have surprisingly struggled from very early on. They have been on the road to recovery lately and are on to make it back to the Championship for the 1st time since 2011/12. As expected the cups have been poor as well. Only reaching the 5th Round of the FA Cup once and the 3rd Round of the League Cup once. The JPT has been more succesful but still a disappointment considering the size of the club. Theyve reached the JPT South section semi final on a few occasions but have never progressed to the final. Is there a place in the game that actually lists people with that many appearances or are you manually compiling the information? The league data is in the player history section but to get the overall appearances/goals etc of the player I have to add on all the cup matches data manually
hrbfcrule
December 2035 Champions League Group G: Bayern Levrkusen 3-0 Tord As expected really, we went 3-0 down by half time but held it together much better in the 2nd half even having a few shots of our own. Chris442
Well, as long as you saw that your players were showing signs of some dominance, I think you should be pretty happy. You had a very tough group this year but hopefully with an easier group and a bit more luck, you should start picking up some points. Not bad! hrbfcrule
Preseason Media Prediction: 2nd Title Odds: 3-1 Expectations: Title Challenge Wage Budget: £50,864 (£31,508) Wage Bill: £20,436 (£15,805) Ticket price: £32.40 (£31.70) Season Ticket Holders: 1453 (1358) Season Ticket Price: £360.00 (£353.00) Rankings: Swedish Premier Division: 50th (41st) Country Coefficients (Sweden): 20th (22nd) Key: This Season (Last Season) No great players again in this intake but a couple I will keep my eye on: Victor Lindgren (YP62) (DL) - Report Olle Stenman (YP63) (MC) - Report Some interesting news on the stadium front, originally it was going to take them untill the end of 2037 to only plan the stadium but now it will be built by then. They finished the planning just before the start of this season and our new 10k capacity ground will be ready in 2 seasons time. Also as I predicted they went with the hugely imaginitive name of "Tord Stadium": Unfortunately just like before the board took out an unnecessarily big loan at a ridiculously high rate. So for the next 15 years we will be paying back £379k/month. This equates to ~£68M for a simple £12M loan which we could have just about afford anyway. This will pressure us into getting in the CL group stages every year which is no easy task. hrbfcrule
The news just gets better and better! I thought they would've at least named it the hrbfcrule stadium though Are you on the clubs icon list yet? Nope not even on favoured personnel yet . Only 2 players have made it onto favoured personnel (Peter Jansson (YP33) and Jorgen Melki (YP37)) and no one is in icon or legend category. I don't mind this stadium not being named after me because I want the next one to be instead. That one will be much bigger and better even if it is a long way off. Can you post an update on how Leeds have been doing League History Struggled to start with but have now turned themselves into a solid mid table premiership team. They have even made Europe twice, once in 2020 where they reached the 1st KO Round. The other time is 2036, so far they are in the 4th Qual Round and still going strong. They have twice reached the FA Cup final where they lost both times although each time it gave them a ticket into the Europa League. League Cup has been less succesful, they've reached the semi final once and the quarters a handful of times.
hrbfcrule
March 2036 U21 Euro Championship Quals: Sweden U21's 1-0 Estonia U21's Dominated the match but had to rely on a 31st min penalty from Rikard Hansson to seal the win and keep us top of the group. Swedish Super Cup: Atvidaberg 0-2e Tord We were very average in normal time but seemed to step up a gear in extra time. Erik Carlsson (YP41) and Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) sealed the win to claim the last domestic trophy we hadn't won yet. League: Tord 1-0 Kalmar FF An even match separated only by a Jorgen Melki (YP37) strike in the 55th min. League: Oddevold 1-2 Tord Jorgen Melki (YP37) was again on target to net his 2nd in 2 games to give us the lead. Oddevold equalised with the last kick of the 1st half as we switched off after a very good 45 mins. Sebastain Jeppsson (YP59) retook the lead in the 2nd half before any chances of a comeback were squashed when Oddevold got a man sent off. League: Tord 2-1 Vasteras SK Despite only scoring 2 in each of the last 2 seasons Magnus Kjellman (YP45) scored twice in one match to give us a 2-0 lead. Vasteras got one back but didn't do enough for the draw.
noikeee
Bizarre call from the board regarding the stadium, that must be really frustrating to see. Making real progress in the league and Europe though, keep going. The new youths look poor regarding their attributes, but interesting to see they have high potential, how many seasons did you have to go through before players with 3 and 4 stars for PA started appearing? hrbfcrule
April 2036 League: Hammarby Fotboll 1-2 Tord Peter Jansson (YP33) eventually got his 1st goal of the season in the 25th min. The lead was doubled via an own goal early in the 2nd half. Hammarby scored a late consolation but we got the win. League: Tord 1-1 IK Sirius First dropped points in the league. IK Sirius netted 1st but their lead lasted just 2 mins until an own goal restored parity. League: Mjallby 0-1 Tord Back to winning ways, Jonas Andersson (YP49) left it until the 91st min before putting away a well deserved winner. League: Malmo FF 1-0 Tord First loss of the season, we were unfortunate to do so as well as we matched Malmo comfortable throughout the match. League: Helsingborg 0-1 Tord Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) scored in yet another slim win. I'd rather we turned our dominance into more goals because every game is so nerve racking. League: Tord 2-0 GAIS Another game we left very late to win. Jonas Andersson (YP49) had a goal disallowed in the 1st half but fortunately that didn't matter as Albin Carlsson (YP55) and then Andersson (YP49) himself scored in the 89th and 91st min respectively. hrbfcrule
Bizarre call from the board regarding the stadium, that must be really frustrating to see. The new youths look poor regarding their attributes, but interesting to see they have high potential, how many seasons did you have to go through before players with 3 and 4 stars for PA started appearing? Some seasons I get players with 3 star potential straight away, sometimes if i'm lucky I get 1 with 3.5. Most of the time the new intakes are 2.5 stars or less but if I leave them in the U19's for a season or 2 their potential goes up to 3 or more stars. The PA is relative the current squad so I have always been getting 3 star potential youths coming through. Just the ones coming through now are much better than the ones at the start due to the improved overall quality of the 1st team squad
hrbfcrule
May 2036 League: Tord 2-0 Umea FC Jonas Andersson (YP49) and an own goal sealed a comfortable win over Umea. We should have had a few more but I won't complain. League: Syrianska Kerburan 1-3 Tord Jonas Andersson (YP49) netted his 3rd in as many games to get us off the mark in this game. Syrianska Kerburan made the task harder for themselves as they saw red just before half time. Niclas Carlsson (YP39) and Hakan Neilsen (YP47) took advantage of this in the 2nd half before Syrianska grabbed a consolation. Swedish Cup 3rd Round: Umea FC 1-2e Tord Should have won it in normal time but our lack of finishing stopped that. We went 1-0 down in the 1st half but an own goal pulled us level. Erik Carlsson (YP41) then scored the winner in the 98th min. League: Tord 4-1 AIK Best performance of the season so far, absolutely sensational. We could have had 7 or 8 as well. Albin Carlsson (YP55), Jorgen Melki (YP37), Erik Carlsson (YP41) and Hakan Larsson (YP35) all scored before AIK got a 91st min consolation. League: Syrianska FC 0-1 Tord Jonas Andersson (YP49) continues his habit of scoring late goals. His 87th min strike was enough for all 3 points. June 2036 League: Tord 1-0 IFK Goteborg Goteborg's indiscipline let them down as a 1st half red card swung the tide of the match allowing Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) to give us the win with his 82nd min goal. hrbfcrule
July 2036 Swedish Cup 4th Round: Falkenburg 2-2p Tord Don't know why we struggle so much in the cup. Falkenburg are bottom of the 2nd tier yet they were playing the much better team. Somehow we hung on throughout the 2 hrs of football to get to penalties. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) got both our goals in the match. Luckily we are good at penalty shootouts as we seemed to have relied on them far too much in recent years. We went through 4-3 on pens not misisng a single one. League: Kalmar FF 0-1 Tord A deserved win, Niclas Carlsson (YP39) scored the only goal of the game in the 8th min. Kalmar never had a sight of our goal all match. Champions League Champions 2nd Qual 1st Leg: Mogren 2-1 Tord A shock loss to the Montenegran champions, not only that but they played much better than us and could have gained a bigger lead. They took the lead in the 6th min but seemed like they had thrown it all away in the 48th min when a cynical foul gave us a penalty and them a red card. Jorgen Melki (YP37) dispatched the penalty with ease to make it 1-1. But Olle Stenman (YP63) decided to level things in a different way by getting himself sent off in the 57th min. Mogren went on the front foot and scored the winning goal and put more pressure on us in the return leg. League: Tord 0-0 Oddevold We weren't our usual selves, what should be a routine win was a complete aberration. Luckily Oddevold were incompetent themselves and couldn't get near our goal. Champions League Champions 2nd Qual 2nd Leg: Tord a(2) 1-0 (2) Mogren We made a much better fight of it than in the 1st leg but we still struggled to get the all important goal. That was until we were handed another penalty in the 88th min. Again Jorgen Melki (YP37) stepped up and finished it to send us through to the next round. We were handed a tough draw in the next round, Club Brugge. They were massive favourites but, as we have seen in this round, that doesn't necessarilly mean anything. League: Atvidaberg 0-2 Tord A Jonas Andersson (YP49) brace gave us a 2-0 win but there were much more pressing concerns. Namely the 3 reasonably serious injuries suffered in this match. Viktor Andersson (YP53), Jorgen Melki (YP37) and Roger Magnusson (YP52), all key players, were out for 2-3 weeks, 3-4 weeks and 2 weeks respectively. Champions League Champions 3rd Qual 1st Leg: Tord 5-0 Club Brugge Wow. Just wow. We just annihilated them. We were without 3 of our best players yet Niclas Carlsson (YP39), Erik Johannesson (YP56) and Jonas Andersson (YP49) all scored in the 1st half. Sebastain Jeppsson (YP59) scored a brace in the 2nd half and to make it worse for Brugge they got 2 players sent off in the 90th min. Taunton
Impressive!! Both the league form and the win against Brugge. I reckon that your players have reached a high level even though the stars may not indicate it. Is there another qualifying round if you beat Brugge? I assume your european coefficients are on a rise. Looking forward to the update, and as I said before, very glad that you keep this challenge going. noikeee
Only in FM can something like that come completely out of the blue and surprise you after long 25 seasons where you could've seen it all. What a great win. I took a look at the players in your last end-of-season update and particularly like the DC Melki, the keeper Svensson, and specially the DMC Andersson. The rest are poor, I have no idea how do you pull off results like those with this kind of workforce.
