  1. Every game can be exploitable. Especially a simulator. You will always be frustrated if you try to apply real world tactics agains exploit tactics in an exploit-friendly enviroment (online). When playing against friends just use the exploit systems to have fun. And then use the real life football tactics when playing against the AI.
  2. I like this discussion and understand the "dangers" of nerfing gegenpress. Especially because the common of people don't have a big understanding of tactics and just want to have fun.
  3. I understand this. Sadly, he is "gaming the game" and you are playing more like the AI. Playing it like the game was supposed to be played.
  4. I agree with most of the explanations made by @BanOly. Leverkusen is my FM team and I was watching them a lot lately. But I feel one thing wasn't mentioned about the double pivot movement. I think the pivot closer to Frimpong is the holding one and the one besides Grimaldo is a bit more mobile. Palacios and Xhaka rotate a lot but when they are in the RCDM position, they hold and when they are in the LCDM they are more mobile and a bit wider to prevent Grimaldo being isolated.
  5. The rating system in FM is too goals/assist heavy. If you like how he is moving, linking up, making space for others, etc. Then it's ok! Is tempting to change a player if he is having a 6.6 rating or 6.5. But maybe that rating is only because he made one mistake or he is not receiving enough passes.
  6. I agree fluid counter-attack is the closest to a "tiki taka counter-attacking style".
  7. Nice write-up! But I'm not sure about the Jumping and Heading as attributes needed for the IFB role. It's true he will be always defending but during the defensive organization phase he will be positioned wide. And during defensive transition you don't have many scenarios involving crosses
  8. Years of learning from the best, we are standing on the shoulders of giants 😁
  9. 1) your team will try to recover possession as soon as it lost it and then when they won it back they will try to counter-attack inmediatly. 2) Cloud9 answered it pretty well 👍
  10. Counter-pressing is the action of trying to recover the ball as soon as you lose it. Is a defensive transition instruction. Starting a counter-attack after winning the ball back is an attacking transition instruction. They are different phases of play. Man City counter-press but then uses to hold position when regain it. Liverpool counter-press and then starts the counter-attack when regains possession. Triger press is an out of possession / defensive organization instruction. Instructs to your players how often they will press when a trigger occurs. If they will do it all the time or if they will wait until the perfect moment. Common triggers are: a bad first touch, a slow pass, receiving the ball facing your own goal.
  11. My favourite FM content right now! I'm learning a lot and started to use the MPGD skin. I'm loving it.
  12. I read the first issues and I really like them. Highly recommended.
  13. It looks a lot like the one I use (in term of roles and duties). You may want to ask one player from your double pivot to dribble more or play more direct passes so you have a ball progresser or ball carrier there too.
  14. And then you add Tempo to the mix and it gets more confusing and ambiguous.
  15. This is only my opinion but in the DLP-D/B2B-S pairing the creating and defending is focused on one player because the B2B is more of a runner or linking player. With the DM-S/RGA-S the responsabilities are better shared.
  16. Nice and balanced tactic. It looks like it occupies the spaces very well. Who is your primary goal scorer?
  17. I love how your AM(a) positions himself in the blind side of the right CB.
  18. Can you share the camera settings? I really like that view
  19. It would be interesting as a community to try to group attributes in order to help to profile players. I try to separate like this: footballing intelligence with anticipation, concentration, decisions + positioning/off the ball. mobility: acceleration, agility, balance. "desire": aggression, workrate, stamina and determination. But then I have problems trying to profile other stuff like creativity or prolific goalscoring.
  20. Nice! I think the drop of mentality, tempo and passing gave your players more time and space in general. More space for the striker to attack and for the amc to receive between lines. And for the entire team to not skip the amc.
  21. Interesting ideas you and @OJ403 are sharing. I will try those because I feel it fits what I want from my team and specially from Wirtz, I want him in more central areas.
  22. Thanks! I try Wirtz as the AMC in some games. I swap him with Vlasic but I don't see differences in the outcome. We lost 4 games. Twice against Bayern, away at Freiburg and away at Wolfsburg. We struggle I'm still a brick as a tactician and I can't see notable differences when trying to play slower and wider against teams playing deep. I learned not to use brute force because it doesn't work either. I'm only 4 games into the season. We beaten Hoffenheim away, Werder Bremen at home, narrowly lost with Bayern away and awfully lost 4-0 away at Dortmund. We started well and then did nothing against Dortmund. I hope we can turn around that result.
