  1. I kind of agree. I don't use hold shape, but hate with my heart the "Counter" instruction. You click "Counter" and your DM or DMs suddenly think they are Erling Haaland and you have no holding midfielders any more.
  2. I found Distribute to Centrebacks + Fullbacks is the best way, at least for me, to ask your GK to start his build-up. You are not limiting him. If the CBs are marked, he will go to the FBs. If CBs and FBs are marked he will go long. It's the best balance of risk I could find.
  3. I play always on comprehensive but I feel I'm rushing it sometimes. So I'm thinking on going down to Full Match to learn more about my team, tacitcs and football in general. (Also because I want to change carreer IRL to Tactic Analyst, so I hace to start practicing somewhere 😅)
  4. Oh, I came for the same problem. And my resolution is lower than that. I would love to only have the stars replacing the attributes. How can I do that?
  5. 18 set pieces, 19 determination. He is a regen because is a save from FM23. Felix Lecat, and is french. Felix The Cat And only 35 y/o. I like to think he is a former footballer, the injuries forced his retirement and then he became the best Set Piece coach on the planet.
  6. Good physicals are very useful for lower leagues. I would try it and see what happens
  7. I have one of the best, he is in charge of the entirety of the set pieces. Good jumpers, average set piece takers and the last season we were top of the league in set piece goals. BUT the only routine we do is the near post one. I would like to have more variety.
  8. Don't worry, I'm enjoying the skin. Just wanted to know if it was something about my resolution or a rare bug.
  9. I'm loving it but I thinkg I'm having a visual problem. I can't see the mentality nor player roles and duties in the team seletcion pre match window. I'm using a 1366 x 768 both in game and in Windows. And already change the zooms options but it is always the same.
  10. I think the 334 will form if you use the DLP in the DM strata, but if he is in the CM (where the RPM is now) you will have the 3-2-1. Is a matter of testing.
  11. I'm really liking this! I would like to se how you create the box with the Brighton 4231. Where do you find how your coaches rate the Premier League level of your players?
  12. Hi! RPM and AP go to the AM strata because of the positional play introduction. Try him as a DLP. I find the DLP to go side to side where the ball is.
  13. Exactly! I just won the CL in the third season with Leverkusen (and the players arent beast or wonderkids) by using a coherent system and focusing on having a perfect or near to perfect familiarity and very good to excelent team cohesion. Not sure if it's a placebo but I can see the players being more fluid or doing exactly what they should be doing. I was struggling a lot with the game and winning the CL or even a league was near impossible to me. I believed too that familiarity wasn't important. Now is one of the first things I check before making changes to the tactic.
  14. Is it possible that the AF makes the other teammates to look for him earlier during build-up?
  15. I'm really liking this posts beacuse you are not focusing on super-tactics but trying to roleplay more with real life systems.
  16. So you can have the 3-2 during build-up. It helps with controlling possession.
  17. In my front four I use this system and my AF end up with a good amount of chances to have more goals than games played. Then if the striker underperforms his xG is not my problem: -------------------AF------------------- -----IF(s)-----AM(s)-----(IWs)----- AF: primary goalscorer IF(s): second striker AM(s) and IW(s): creators. DM(s) and DM(d) behind them to recycle the ball. WB(s) behind the IF and WB(a) behind the IW(s).
  18. Don't you find the BWM being overly aggresive when the team attacks even with hold position? I tried this a few times but almost always end up with the double pivot on the edge of the opposition area and acres of space behind them. And the BWM doesn't have any go forward related player trait.
  19. I like it! I use very similar team instructions but without the higher defensive line because I find that sometimes we end up compressing the space to much between the defence and midfield. I'm not sure about 2 things. The assymetric formation, but only because I don't like to use formations the AI can't. The other is, why you need your IWB to have strenght? When team loses possession he will come back to the FB position instead of holding the mid, right? I'm asking because I don't have FM24, maybe in the new edition the IWB holds the middle a bit more before going to the FB position.
  20. I really like the advice on morale, fitness and consistency with player selections. I noticed that when your team have nailed familiarity and have very good to excellent team cohesion the play is more fluid and they do exactly what you want. On the debate about Xabi Alonso's Leverkusen you may be interest on this thread:
  21. How do you tell match engine-wise if a player lacks balance or his balance let him down?
  22. Thanks, it makes sense. And how about when the team is out-of-possession? Mid block, letting their CBs passs it arround but blocking the midfield passing lines?
  23. I just came to the forum to ask the same question but against any team not only big ones. I just draw a game against Augsburg, they were playing a 3421 and just bored us to death by maintaining possession. If I use a high block this teams manage to always have a +1 passing option. And it doesn't matter if I recover high up the pitch, in the middle third or in my third, counterattacking them seems impossible because they always have a lot of bodies at the back. So, not sure how to beat them
  24. @crusadertsar @Maddux Sorry, english is not my native language. By "offset" you mean the SS not in the AMC but in the AMCR or AMCL?
