Stuniverse
*** COMING SOON *** Stuniverse's FM22 Adventure Game date: Thursday 1st July 2021 Stuniverse hangs up his boots La Gazzetta dello Sport Stuni Stuniverse announced today, via his agent Annamaria Zaloni, that he will be hanging up his boots, bringing to an end a solid, if unspectacular 12 year career as a local professional footballer in and around Serie C. Stuniverse's playing career was plagued by injuries and he only made three substitute appearances last season after damaging the cruciate ligaments in his right knee less than a month into the season. For the last couple of years, Stuniverse has been working on his coaching badges and has already achieved a Continental A Licence. Zaloni confirmed that her client would now be looking to continue his career in professional football by taking his first steps into management. The majority of managers Stuniverse played for during his career were Disciplinarians so it would be no surprise if the 30 year-old Venetian adopted a similar managerial style. Born and bred in Venice, Stuniverse also speaks fluent English, but La Gazzetta dello Sport expect him to seek out his first football management job here in Italy. It's said that great football managers don't always make great managers. To be fair, Stuniverse wasn't a great player, he was a mediocre journeyman at best, but maybe he can be more successful as a manager. Time will tell. Here at La Gazzetta dello Sport we wish Stuni Stuniverse well. Please LIKE if you enjoyed this update and FOLLOW the thread so you don't miss future updates. I’m really excited about this save as I’ve been to Italy quite a lot and have an affinity for the country, the people, the food and the wine. I’ve even seen Juventus play Florentina in a cup-tie in their impressive new stadium. Places I’ve been to and really fell in love with were Rome, Venice, Florence, Pisa, Siena and my beloved Derby County once lost the Anglo-Italian Cup Final at Wembley to Cremonese with me and my late mum and dad in attendance. Whether Stuniverse gets to manage any of those teams on his FM22 Adventure remains to be seen. I usually wait until the first patch is out before starting any long-term saves so it may be a couple of weeks after full release before Stuniverse’s FM22 Adventure kicks-off… Edited October 23, 2021 by Stuniverse
Junkhead
Good start, @Stuniverse - might have missed it, but any idea where you are starting, or unemployed? Hopefully you end up at Cremonese at some point, any team that beats Derby in a cup final is fine by me Good luck & following.

No you didn’t miss it. I will be starting unemployed. On the Beta there are no Serie C job vacancies so I’m hoping one becomes available before the data lock for the full release. It would be nice to apply for a job on Day 1 of the save but, if not, I’ll have to wait for somebody to get sacked. Based on the media preview in the Beta, I had a look at these Serie C clubs to see what experience and coaching badges the game recommended: 350-1 Aquila 1902 Montevarchi 250-1 Campobasso 150-1 AZ Picerno 150-1 Fermana 150-1 Latina And that’s why I’m starting with a Continental A Licence and Professional Footballer (Local) experience. 27 minutes ago, Junkhead said: Hopefully you end up at Cremonese at some point, any team that beats Derby in a cup final is fine by me Ah, just seen who your Team is 😂⚽️🤣. I won’t hold that against you, @Junkhead. I will be doing a Derby save as well which I think I’ll also share as a Career Update. 27 minutes ago, Junkhead said: Good luck & following. Cheers. I hope you enjoy the Adventure. Edited October 23, 2021 by Stuniverse

Hi @karanhsingh, yes I believe Derby County will be a very challenging save this year and I'll be doing a Career Update Derby County save alongside this save. My main FM22 save will be Stuniverse's FM22 Adventure (the save on this thread) but for the first couple of weeks it'll be ticking along in the background as Stuni Stuniverse looks for a manager's job in Italia Serie C, allowing me to get stuck into my Derby County save. From the weekend of 20th-21st of November I expect that to flip and I'll focus on my main save Stuniverse's FM22 Adventure (in Italy) with my Derby County save ticking away in the background.

Stuniverse
Game date: Sunday 1st August 2021 My initial thoughts... I'm delighted, obviously, to have been appointed manager of Associazione Calcio Siena particularly as it's a club very close to my heart. [Note: I've been to Italy quite a lot and Venice, Rome, Pisa and Siena are places I've been to and have an affinity with so I set them as Stuni Stuniverse's favourite teams]. Expectations Clearly Siena are an ambitious football club and want to gain promotion back to Serie B as soon as possible. This season they're looking for a minimum of Playoff qualification and next season they want to win promotion to Serie B, assuming we don't get promotion this season. Given that Siena are predicted by the media to finish 6th, and the Playoff places run from 2nd to 10th (with the Serie C Girone B winners going up automatically), I'm confident we can make the Playoffs and, hopefully, do better than 6th. We do have some money to spend, but we're also about £2,000.00 over our wage budget. Given that the Board want us to work within the wage budget and, indeed, I want to work within the wage budget, I'll be asking my Chairperson Armen Gazaryan to move some of the transfer budget into the wage budget so that we are within wage budget. Tomorrow I'm due to meet the players and my backroom staff and I'm looking forward to that. I don't feel under any pressure to strengthen the squad immediately so my focus will be on assessing the playing squad over pre-season and looking to create headroom in the wage budget by offloading any players I feel can't help us in our promotion efforts . Stuniverse
Game date: Sunday 1st August 2021 Casale v Siena - pre-season friendly Siena played their first pre-season friendly yesterday, before my appointment was confirmed, away from home against Serie D Girone A club Casale. I wasn't able to attend the game, but I have watched the video of the 1-1 draw.

Stuniverse
Game date: Monday 2nd August 2021 Budgets adjusted First order of business today was to speak to my Chairperson Armen Gazaryan and adjust the budgets. That's sorted. It doesn't leave much money to spend but, at least, we are working within the wage budget now. The Board would prefer us to sign players under the age of 23 for the first team and I'm happy to go along with that. The whole business of signing young players means we don't want to rush those signings and it's important we take our time scouting them and making sure we sign the right ones who can come in, contribute straight away, and develop their potential with us. I meant what I said in my interview. Right now, I'm looking forward to a long and successful career as manager of Associazione Calcio Siena and there's no need to rush things or make hasty decisions. Stuniverse
Game date: Monday 2nd August 2021 Backroom Staff - Scouting and Transfers Team First up, I met my Director of Football, Giorgio_Perinetti. What a great man, we got on very well. The 70 year-old has a wealth of footballing knowledge and experience and has even worked at my home club Venezia as Director of Football. I've asked Giorgio to head up the Scouting and Transfers Team for me and to initiate player signings for the first team although, I made it clear, I want to handle contract negotiations and have the final say on all signings. The rest of the Scouting and Transfers team seem ok but we have vacancies for another scout and a recruitment analyst which I've asked Giorgio to advertise for. Stuniverse
Game date: Monday 2nd August 2021 Backroom Staff - Coaching Team My Assistant Manager is Gaetano Caridi and he's in his second season as Siena Assistant Manager. Like me, Gaetano had a journeyman career as a player, playing in Serie B for a good while but never getting to play in Serie A. I like Gaetano and look forward to working with him. The rest of my Coaching Staff seem a good, competent group and Gaetano spoke very highly of them. I'll give it some time and see how we work together. The only thing that jumped out at me was that we have two goalkeeping coaches - Franco Paleari and Nicolas Cancarini - plus two fitness coaches - Enrico Babucci and Sandro Bencardino - and that may be something I need to look at. We don't have any Performance Analysts so I've asked my Head Performance Analyst Simone Corsini to place an advert. Stuniverse
Game date: Monday 2nd August 2021 Backroom Staff - Medical Team I didn't say anything to them, for now, but I think my Medical Team will need some work. We only have two players out injured at the moment, three if we include Niccolo Marcellusi who has flu, so it's not an immediate priority. We have three physios - Federico Bianchini Aoli, Federico Morganti and Lapo Mangiavacchi - which, with Head Physio Giulio Leonardi, could be two physios too many. We don't have a Sports Science department so I've asked Giulio to advertise for a Head of Sports Science and a Sports Scientist. I may have to let a couple of physios go when we're ready to appoint though.

Stuniverse
Game date: Tuesday 3rd August 2021 Backroom Staff - Academy It wasn't possible to meet with my Head of Youth Development, Danilo Tosoni yesterday, so I met with him today. Unfortunately, although Danilo seems like a nice, genuine guy, there's not much evidence of young players with potential in the U20 and U18 squads. For now, I'm going to give Danilo the benefit of the doubt and allow him to initiate and negotiate U20 and U18 signings but I've told him I want the final say. To be fair to Danilo though, he could do with some help and that's something we're going to have to look into at some point. anagain
Arrivaderci Faroes, ciao Siena. I think I saw you say you struggled with a smaller country last year. I did too, with Luxembourg. Have also gone to a more established league. Buona fortuna with the Sienese!
