  1. Sunday 8th March 2026 Post-match: Sampdoria 4-0 Udinese - Serie A (28) Blucerchiati Messaggero: Well I certainly enjoyed that one. Congratulations. Stuniverse: Grazie. The players were magnificient... I'm so proud of them. It was a funny game... odd... strange... Udinese started well and... for 20 minutes... we couldn't get close to them. We had a couple of break-aways... scored from the second one... then the game changed... we grew in confidence... they seemed to lose confidence... and by half-time I thought we had control of the game. After the break... we dominated the game. Scored four good goals... three points... we're delighted. Blucerchiati Messaggero: You didn't look happy during the second-half, what was going on there? Stuniverse: I was furious with my... my... my counterpart... Lorenzo D'Anna... the way he had his Udinese side playing. The foul that injured Bruno Santos bad enough... the challenge on Andrija Zivkovic was criminal. Fair play... referee... produce red card... instantly... but Andrija... very fortunate... his leg not broken. Blucerchiati Messaggero: You started 4-3-3 as you finished against Lecce, not your usual 4-2-3-1, and your team played the system very well to great success. Are we likely to see it next weekend in the derby della Lanterna against Genoa? Stuniverse: Si. 4-3-3 suited us... for half-an-hour or so... against Lecce and... again today... after sticky 20 minutes... or so. We haven't decided yet how we'll set-up against Genoa. 2. Sunday 8th March 2026 Sampdoria (9th) v Udinese (6th) - Serie A (28) Team Selection Sampdoria made TWO changes. IN: Jakub Jankto (MC), Bruno Santos (SC). OUT: Stefano Sana (AMC), Lawrence Shankland (SC). Highlights 20 minutes. Against the run-of-play, Bruno Santos gave Sampdoria the lead, heading home Alessandro Cortinovis's cross. HT: Sampdoria 1-0 Udinese 48 minutes. Bruno Santos doubled Sampdoria's lead, with his second goal of the game, after a superb pass from Andrija Zivkovic put him clean through. 73 minutes. Sampdoria's two goal hero Bruno Santos went off injured and Massimo Bottaro replaced him. 79 minutes. OFF! Udinese's Guglielmi received a straight red for an appalling challenge on Andrija Zivkovic that could have caused serious injury. 89 minutes. Jakub Jankto wrapped up the points against his former team, arriving late in the penalty area, to collect Alessandro Murgia's low cross and score with a fierce shot. 90+2 minutes. Alessandro Cortinovis made it four, finishing off a superb Sampdoria move involving Chancel Mbemba, Jakub Jankto, Alessandro Murgia and Massimo Bottaro. FT: Sampdoria 4-0 Udinese A sensational second-half performance from Sampdoria saw them win their second consecutive Serie A match and stretch their unbeaten run to three matches. 3. 8 March 2026 SAMPDORIA BOARD REDUCE PERCENTAGE REVENUE RETAINED Blucerchiati Messaggero: Sampdoria have announced that they will be reducing the percentage of transfer revenue retained from player sales to 30%.
  4. Sunday 8th March 2026 Pre-match v Udinese (H) - Serie A (28) Match Preview Blucerchiati Messaggero: Udinese are 6th, three places and eight points ahead of you. If you're to have any chance of catching Udinese you have to beat them today, don't you? Stuniverse: It's a big game for us... that's for sure. I wouldn't say it's a 'must win'... lot of game still to play... but... but... but, clearly our chances of catching Udinese... this season... will be much harder if we don't win. Blucerchiati Messaggero: Udinese are unbeaten in their last five Serie A matches and beat you 1-0 at their Dacia Arena earlier in the season. How do you rate your chances? Stuniverse: Udinese are a very good team. They battered us... at the Dacia Arena... and the scoreline flattered us. That said... we are playing much better now... we're harder to beat... and Udinese have drawn four of those five unbeaten games. We are confident and... with the Blucerchiati cheering us on in the Stadio Luigi Ferraris... we fancy our chances. Unavailable: Julian Chabot (lower back stress fracture), Giovanni Pagano (groin strain), Lorenzo Innocenti (virus). Doubtful: Andrija Zivkovic (pulled groin-90), Lawrence Shankland (bruised ankle-90). 5. Sunday 1st March 2026 Post-match: Lecce 1-2 Sampdoria - Serie A (27) Blucerchiati Messaggero: What a turnaround that was. Congratulations. Stuniverse: Si. Grazie. We have a saying back home... "Game of two halves" and... whilst this wasn't exactly that... in the truest sense... we did have two very different 45 minutes... and we're delighted to have come out on top... with the three points. Blucerchiati Messaggero: Talk us through it per favore? Stuniverse: First-half we play as we normally do and... as expected... Lecce play very defensive 4-1-4-1... we struggle break them down... struggle create chances... not look like scoring. After break we make changes... drop our attacking midfielder... back into central midfield... and we take control of game... find more space... create more chances... score two fine goals. Shame we concede near end... but we thoroughly deserve win... I think. Blucerchiati Messaggero: Si, you did, Sampdoria were much the better side second-half. Another tactical masterclass with you changing the system and two substitutes scoring. You must be delighted? Stuniverse: Si. Grazie. Of course. But it the players that do the hard work over 90 minutes... not me... the players deserve the credit. All of them. I delighted for the two goalscorers. It's taken Bruno Santos time to settle but with two goals... in two games... he starting to show why we signed him in January. Jakub Jankto is very good player... but we have found it difficult o accommodate him in central midfield... with Karol Linetty and Alessandro Murgia forming... an... an... an excellent partnership there. Jakub reminded me... today... that he is a very good player. Stuniverse (Sampdoria manager): Please LIKE if you enjoyed this update and FOLLOW the thread so you don't miss future updates.
  6. Sunday 1st March 2026 Lecce (14th) v Sampdoria (9th) - Serie A (27) Team Selection Sampdoria made THREE changes. IN: Andrija Zivkovic (AMR), Stefano Sana (AMC), Lawrence Shankland (SC). OUT: Giovanni Pagano (AMR-groin strain), Massimo Bottaro (AMC), Bruno Santos (SC). Highlights 23 minutes. Sampdoria changed to a shorter passing style of play. A very even, tight half, with a few chances, ended without a goal. HT: Lecce 0-0 Sampdoria 56 minutes. Sampdoria made two substitutions - Andrea Cistana (DC) and Jakub Jankto (MC) for Chancel Mbemba (DC) and Stefano Sana (AMC) - and changed to a 4-3-3 BALANCED system. 74 minutes. Substitute Bruno Santos gave Sampdoria the lead after great work down the left-wing by former Lecce player Antonini Gallo and Alessandro Cortinovis. 77 minutes. Another substitute, Jakub Jankto, doubled Sampdoria's lead with a thunderbolt from just outside the penalty area. After being set-up by Alessandro Murgia, Sampdoria's forgotten man this season, Jakub Jankto reminded everybody of exactly how good he is with a fabulous strike. 90 minutes. Lecce pulled one back when Lukic turned in Tarensi's low cross at the far post. FT: Lecce 1-2 Sampdoria A much improved Sampdoria after the break were richly deserved winners as they earned their first victory in three Serie A matches. 7. Sunday 1st March 2026 Pre-match v Lecce (a) - Serie A (27) Match Preview Blucerchiati Messaggero: With Torino, immediately below you in Serie A, drawing 1-1 with Fiorentina, and Atalanta, a place below Torino, losing 4-0 to Lazio, a win at Lecce would really consolidate your position in the top-half and increase the pressure on Roma just above you? Stuniverse: Si. It would. A win would put us five points clear of both Torino and Atalanta. But we go to Via del Mare under no illusions... Lecce... it will be a difficult game for us. Earlier in the season Lecce left our Stadio Luigi Ferraris with... a hard-fought point... in a nil-nil draw... where we couldn't break them down. I'm expecting more of the same... to be honest... and it will be up to us to find... a way to score goals. I also hope for a bit more good fortune than we've had of late. Roberto Baronio (Lecce manager): Stuniverse (Sampdoria manager): Unavailable: Julian Chabot (lower back stress fracture), Giovanni Pagano (groin strain). Doubtful: Andrija Zivkovic (pulled groin-90), Lawrence Shankland (bruised ankle-90), Jairo Riedewald (sports hernia-45). Fatigued: Matias Puggioni (86%), Matteo Frau (81%). 15. Wednesday 18th February 2026 Post-match: Napoli 3-0 Sampdoria - Serie A (25) Blucerchiati Messaggero: A heavy 3-0 defeat. That's not good, is it? Stuniverse: No. I know it look bad... but I thought we play well... we had more possession... more attempts on goal... against a very strong Napoli team... but the breaks all went their way. We're annoyed... we gave them good game... for first goal... ref needs stop game... surely he see genuine injury... then Matteo Soncin make great save... but ball go back straight... their man... he score. Same again... later... Gonzalo Santapaolo make great block... go back their man... score. Blucerchiati Messaggero: Real Sociedad manager Robert Moreno was here scouting Zivkovic. Is his injury bad? Stuniverse: Well Moreno won't... seen much of him. Andrija pulled groin. Maybe a week... or two... out. Blucerchiati Messaggero: Should you have had a penalty? Stuniverse: Si. I thought so. Right before halftime... the referee... actually... awarded it... then VAR change mind. It was inside... penalty area... ridiculous decision. Unbelievable. 17. Wednesday 18th February 2026 Pre-match v Napoli (a) - Serie A (25) Match Preview Blucerchiati Messaggero: You've waited a while, but finally you get to play your game-in-hand. A win would see you go five points clear of Atalanta and put you level on points with 8th-placed Napoli. Stuniverse: It would. Si. But Napoli are second... go two points back Inter... with win... and in their back-yard... San Paolo... going be very difficult game.. for us. 18. Save Update Thank you for your patience. My FM20 Adventure should resume tomorrow (Thursday) or Friday, definitely by the weekend with further updates from Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa as my managerial career continues with Sampdoria...
  19. Welcome, @Synx and thanks for sharing. With the exception of Martyn Waghorn, I’d agree with you. I’d also throw Tom Huddlestone into that overpaid senior player mix as well. Definitely the ones to go for plus Jason Knight, Jayden Bogle and Max Lowe, who should all start game in the first-team squad. Some great pick-ups there. Yes, having Bogle and Andre Wisdom injured are the start of the season is far from ideal. In real-life, Phillip Cocu used left-back Max Lowe as right-back. In FM20, I know of quite a few people who went for Christie, a former Derby County player, usually on loan as a short-term solution until the injured players were back. How did Wayne Rooney perform? Great stuff. Congratulations.
  20. Sunday 15th February 2026 Post-match: Cagliari 1-0 Sampdoria - Serie A (24) Blucerchiati Messaggero: That didn't go according to plan. What happened? Stuniverse: We lost. Simple that... they score one goal... we score no goals... we lost. This fooball... this Serie A... this things happen. But I not think we deserve lose... we have... lots more chances they do... much more possession they do... but they catch us cold... four minutes in... wonderful goal from Locatelli... and then they defend... for their lifes... for 86 plus minutes... we huff... we puff... but we cannot score past Cragno... goalkeeper produce some... good saves... for them... but we not make him... work... hard enough. We must do better... in these situations. Blucerchiati Messaggero: Was substituting Bruno Santos at half-time, when you were already a goal down, a sign you got your team selection wrong? Stuniverse: No, not think so. We not score first-half... Bruno Santos play... we not score second-half... Lawrence Shankland play. Look... Lawrence needed a rest... he can't play every game... Massimo Bottaro out with flu... so Bruno Santos start... he has start some time... At half-time... way Cagliari defend deep... in numbers... we thought... experience would help second-half. Blucerchiati Messaggero: On Wednesday you finally get to play your game-in-hand against Napoli at their San Paolo Stadio. Stuniverse: Si. Very difficult game... for us. Napoli second in Serie A. If Napoli win... they close gap to leaders Inter... to two points. Very difficult game for us... but we do our best. Stuniverse (Sampdoria manager): Please LIKE if you enjoyed this update and FOLLOW the thread so you don't miss future updates.

Andrija Zivkovic played the ball down the right channel, Bruno Santos crossed, and Alessandro Cortinovis's header shaved the top of the crossbar. HT: Cagliari 1-0 Sampdoria 74 minutes. Sampdoria changed to a VERY ATTACKING mentality, and stopped playing out from the back so much. Cagliari had their goalkeeper Cragno to thank for preserving their slender lead with a string of fine saves, the best of which was a superb dive to tip substitute Matias Puggioni's long-rang shot over the bar. FT: Cagliari 1-0 Sampdoria Sampdoria dominated the match but were unable to score and lost to a wonder strike from Manuel Locatelli. 22. Sunday 15th February 2026 Pre-match v Cagliari (a) - Serie A (24) Match Preview Blucerchiati Messaggero: What are your thoughts on Cagliari sacking Walter Mazzarri this week? Stuniverse: It sad... it always sad me when... fellow professional manager lose job. They had... what... won one, draw one, lose three... of... last five games... Serie A... so.... I guess... owner know best. Blucerchiati Messaggero: Ahead of your match at the Sardegna Arena, you're eight points better off than Cagliari with a game-in-hand. Does the fact that they're without a manager give Sampdoria even more of an advantage? Stuniverse: I... I... not sure... these things... tend go one way or other... players either despondent... play within themselfs... not play well... or look something prove... play above themselfs... make you ask why didn't you pay like that before? So... who know? We not know what expect... can only prepare... like normal do. Blucerchiati Messaggero: Has the injury situation improved any? Stuniverse: Si. It improve... some, si. 23. 11 February 2026 CAGLIARI SACK MAZZARRI Blucerchiati Messaggero: Sampdoria will almost certainly travel to the Sardegna Arena to face a managerless Cagliari on Sunday after Walter Mazzarri was sacked tonight following Cagliari's 2-0 defeat to AC Milan in the San Siro.
  24. Saturday 7th February 2026 Post-match: Sampdoria 2-1 Cremonese - Serie A (23) Blucerchiati Messaggero: A good win in the end, but were you worried when Cremonese took the lead? Stuniverse: You never like... concede goals... fall behind... but we barely half hour in... goal complete against... run of play... I had... complete confidence... my team... they show... character... spirit... determination... win game. Blucerchiati Messaggero: You change Caprari to false nine and five minutes later he score the winning goal. You're starting to get a reputation as a tactical genius. Stuniverse: Grazie [laughs]. Grazie. I'm a football manager... I make decisions... that's what we do... some decisions work out... some have no impact... some backfire. Today, Gianluca Caprari... false nine... it work very well. I take that good fortune, grazie. Blucerchiati Messaggero: VAR was busy, ruling out two goals for Shankland. Was VAR right? Stuniverse: First one... si, Lawrence offside. Second one... well... well... I not want say something get me trouble. Stuniverse (Sampdoria manager): Please LIKE if you enjoyed this update and FOLLOW the thread so you don't miss future updates.
