BoxToBox
Right, back again, with yet another thread, hopefully this one will last a reasonable bit of time. Starting in the Irish 2nd division, as a club I whipped up in the editor based in Tralee, Co. Kerry. Being a Kerry lad myself, and there being no playable clubs in the county, I thought it'd be fun to put one together. They're basically the same as the club I've replaced, Wicklow Youths. The main difference being starting with no players or staff, and "add players to playable teams" active. As for limitations, we'll only be signing Irish players, including Northern Ireland, though! Foreigners that come through intakes will be allowed though. EDIT: Pics changed after restarting. Meet Miles O'Toole, a local Tralee lad himself, born to a Danish mother and Irish father(who has a filthy sense of humour). Added Danish to see what happens with the intakes. Active leagues. Seniors/Under 19's. Star player/hottest prospect. We are garbage... At least the board understand, that we are garbage...

Being based in Tralee, they should be in the Munster Senior Cup. Could be like the FA Cup where new teams can't play in it and you have to wait a season. Tralee Dynamos are probably the most high rep Kerry club(as far as I know the only to have played at a National Senior level), I could have just shuffled them or St. Brendans Park into the playable leagues. Oh yes fair enough, probably more interesting to create your own history. I remember last FM I created a database that added the GAA (Gaelic football) structure underneath the Irish playable leagues, adding them to the existing cup competitions as well as creating their own provincial/ All Ireland competitions. It was a lot of fun watching it all unfold as the game progressed, quite surreal watching Cork and Kerry playing soccer in Croke Park 😂

Op is going to have to be redone, I tried making the team again, from scratch rather than copy/editing, to see if I could get them in the Munster Senior Cup. No dice there, but I did tweak the colours a little and edit the names, etc, so I'll keep this one regardless.

BoxToBox
Finally some progress! We're through the winter window and at season's start. Been busy upgrading. These are the two most notable signings. All Irish staff, too.

BoxToBox
Nine league games in, a third of the season, and we're doing very well, albeit through lucking our way into a bizarrely effective tactic. The weirdness happened in the first game with Longford. Began off playing 4-4-1-1 and were being pushed around by them, dominated, until that OG. After it, they were still all over us, drawing level on 30 minutes. We couldn't get a look in all the way to half time. Second half is the same, the 50 minutes in, our RB is hauled off with a twisted ankle, and I have no more fullbacks, so just chucked out what I could into some kind of shape in an effort to hold the draw, forgetting to swap mentalities down to counter or defensive. Quickly smashed two past them and romped our way to victory... This is the tactic, and I've stuck with it since to great effect, despite it looking awful. I think it has real potential too. If I had ball-playing CB's for the wider two, and a proper DLF, etc, etc, it could be how we shape up long term.

BoxToBox
Another third of the season down, and we're well on our way despite finances being shocking. shaunvamos
The one problem I found whenever I play in Ireland (and that's often) is that it's almost impossible to make money unless you qualify for the Group Stages in Europe. There's been several times where I've had to revert back to semi pro because I lose nearly 2 mill in a season. Great start though! Although I didn't expect anything less 😂

Last time I was in Ireland this was avoided by transfer churn, picking up cheap and free agents then selling them for massive profit, which will be much more difficult now. BoxToBox
Window was mildly interesting, lost some important-ish players and prospects for nothing, and brought in some loans that should work out quite well. It's a shame to lose some of these, but it does help the wage budget which was in real trouble. Some good deals there. The goalkeeper looks really handy for at least the next few seasons. Also, despite being 100k in the red, I decided to chance my arm and see if the board would sanction youth upgrades...
BoxToBox
Youth Intake Day! It's a decent one and all, possibly. A few players our staff rate, but I don't entirely trust those useless frauds.... O'Halloran is the pick of the litter, and will go straight into the starting 11(we were weakest at DM, too!), Johnson's not far off either and could even be a starter. oneronaldo
O'Halloran looks like a great find, could cover at full back for you if necessary too.

BoxToBox
Season one in the books, and what a finish! We had a massive stroke of fortune only playing two Premier sides, relegation battlers Derry City, and Sligo Rovers, a mid table side. We're in the 19/20 Europa League! Captain Vinny Quinn was man of the season, with 38 goals and 11 assists in 32 games. I finished out by cheekily asking for more youth upgrades... BoxToBox
Season two's up and running, and we've got a lot or expectations, especially considering we're still semi-pro. Expected to finish 4th already, and the board want top half! We have one player in the dream 11, and he is rated as our best player(though I think some others are ahead of him yet). The rest is dominated by Shamrock Rovers, with one each from Dundalk Town and Waterford being the other two. High expectations in the main competitions, none in the others. Two wins already is great since we opened the season at home to reigning champions Shamrock Rovers, and followed that up with an away trip to Dundalk Town. These two signed so quickly they registered as last season signings. Busy-ish window, but quiet by my standards, really. I get way, way too into the transfer market, a terrible habit. Brent McGrath is a tidy forward at this level and adds a size option up front that we were sorely lacking. Jamie McGrath is versatile, and can cover a lot of positions for us, but mainly see him as also being an option up front, adding some also much needed creativity. Hugh Douglas helps steel our defence. Nathan Tormey had six months left at Arsenal, delighted he'd talk to us, he's quick, can cross, can dribble, perfection. I expect him to be a star. Gavan Holohan will be at CM, helping link the attack, and Chris Shields mostly at DM, but he also looks like maybe a handy ball playing CB at this level, which is something I'd like to try. Jimmy Browne is a bit of a risk, price-wise, but as the jewel in Cork's youth team, I thing he's going to be brilliant for us long term.
BoxToBox
At the halfway point and we're ripping it up. Brent McGrath was on fire early on in the season, so got called up for international football. With Australia. Bye.
BoxToBox
A nice surprise in Europe, a greylist side gave us far more chance than we should have had. Should be far too much for us to handle, but all grey players again.

BoxToBox
I forgot, in the middle of it all the summer transfer window closed. First NI player, and our defence has been well strengthened. We have an option for O'Hara, 115k, he's here mostly as a precaution, as Arsenal and Celtic are sniffing around our young starting keeper.

BoxToBox
Managed to scrape past Rijeka on away goals, putting a nice 2.3m in the bank. We should be smashed to bits. Plenty of other news... This lad had been repping Ireland and switched to Scotland, so his loan has since been terminated. We're a bit shorthanded at left mid now, but it is what it is. Europa money went into the academy, I tried to get the club to turn pro, but they reckon we can't afford it yet... Getting a nice selection of youth internationals. Had to offer new deals to McGlynn and Gallagher to ward off English clubs and Celtic. Surprisingly, no club has yet given our highest rated player, Sheridan, even a cursory look over. BoxToBox
Youth Intake Day! Another one upon us, and after bringing in loads of CB's, of course the star kid had to be one too!
