Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the County Championship draft! The draw has been made, and I can now reveal the two players each county has been allocated. At the same time, you will also know which division each team has been in.

Durham - Luka Modric, Scott Carson

Gloucestershire - Kaspars Gorkss, Aaron Ramsey

Hampshire - Jack Collison, Alex Witsel

Kent - Adam Chambers, Georginio Wijnaldum

Lancashire - Lionel Messi, Paul McVeigh

Nottinghamshire - Gylfi Sigurdsson, Ikechukwu Uche

Somerset - Iker Casillas, Nasser Hussain

Sussex - Kolo Toure, Pio Crisci

Warwickshire - Ashley Chambers, Dele Adebola

Worcestershire - Jay Spearing, Julio Arca

Yorkshire - Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jermaine Beckford

Division Two

Cambridgeshire - Liam Drew, Titus Bramble

Cornwall - Alan Lee, Ryan Giggs

Dorset - Daryl Murphy, Darren Huckerby

Essex - Goran Pandev, Dentinho

Glamorgan - Dong-Ki Kim, Lucas Leiva

Leicestershire - Roger Johnson, Miroslav Klose

Middlesex - Gojko Kacar, Mario Balotelli

Northamptonshire - Andy Reid, Emmanuel Adebayor

Staffordshire - Sergio Aguero, Simon Cox

Surrey - Kaka, Andrei Arshavin

Division Three

Berkshire - Aaron Lennon, Gabriel Agbonlahor

Buckinghamshire - Dimo Wache, Fernando Torres

Cheshire - Mattia Priori, Igor Akinfeev

Cumbria - Daniele Vantaggiato, Jack Wilshere

Devon - Michael Brown, Deividas Semberas

Hertfordshire - Michael O'Connor, Michael Duberry

Lincolnshire - David Beckham, Edin Dzeko

Shropshire - Daniel Sturridge, Fabian Delph

Suffolk - Frank Lampard, Antti Niemi

Wiltshire - Paul Gallagher, Karim Benzema

Division Four

Bedfordshire - Bernd Schneider, Juan Manuel Mata

Herefordshire - Thierry Henry, Michael Dawson

Isle of Man - Joseph Yobo, Steven Gerrard

Isle of Wight - Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlton Cole

Isles of Scilly - Hugo Lloris, Scott Sinclair

Merseyside - Juan Roman Riquelme, Ronaldo

Norfolk - Julian Speroni, Gianluigi Buffon

Northumberland - Theo Walcott, Cesc Fabregas

Oxfordshire - Darren Bent, David Villa

Rutland - James Beattie, Ashley Young

I've organised the divisions like this - the teams in the real County Championship are either in Division One or Division Two. Some Minor Counties make up the rest of Division Two, all Minor County sides are in Division Three, and some Minor Counties are in Division Four. Then the teams that have no county cricketing team are in Division Four as well.

Just to put it on the new page.

My team (Yorkshire) have a decent draw in Ibrahimovic and Beckford. We should get goals and are in Division 1.

Surrey should walk Division 2 with Kaka and Arshavin. Division 3 - Berkshire and Shropshire both have excellent draws and will become a major force in 2/3 seasons time (Lennon and Agbonlahor/Sturridge and Delph) whilst Division 4 will be between Isle of Wight (Carlton Cole should score for fun with Cristiano Ronaldo on the wing) and Northumberland (Walcott and Fabregas) in the first season.

Devon: Congratulations on receiving the Lord Michael Brown. I hope he is more Wigan 08/09 than Sheffield United 02/03 for you though!

Rutland (where?!): James Beattie will score goals with Ashley Young supplying the bullets!

:( A Reading reserve and a Zaragoza striker with a poor scoring record who couldn't hit a barn door. :( To make things worse, my rivals Derbyshire get Piatti and Bojan! :(

I have a feeling I may struggle in this sign up!

Season 07-08

Here's a sort of pre-season update, just to keep you going... :D

Here are the top 10 players by CA at the start of this

Player CA County
-------------------------------------
Kaká 190 Surrey
Iker Casillas 188 Somerset
Lionel Messi 188 Lancashire
Gianluigi Buffon 187 Norfolk
Cristiano Ronaldo 187 Isle of Wight
Zlatan Ibrahimovic 186 Yorkshire
Steven Gerrard 183 Isle of Man
Cesc Fabregas 180 Northumberland
Frank Lampard 179 Suffolk
David Villa 179 Oxfordshire

Here the top potential players at the start (I've only included regens in this)

Player PA County Position
------------------------------------------------
Paul Jordan 195	Leicestershire LB
Mark Woolley 189	Surrey CB
Chris Gooding 186	Lancashire CM
Dan Beevor 186	Yorkshire RB
George Jones 182	Somerset GK
Dave Ballard 182	Lincolnshire AML
Martin Cole 181	Staffordshire CM
John Cresswell 177	Oxfordshire ST
Matty Blackman 175	Warwickshire GK
José Carlos Álvarez 174	Northamptonshire LM

And finally, the 5 worst players by PA

Player PA County
-------------------------------------------
Craig King	45	Hertfordshire
Lee Pollock	46	Leicestershire
Tom Bridges	48	Essex
Ben Houghton	49	Nottinghamshire
Michael Young	50	Durham

Finally, I'll also be monitoring Scotland's UEFA Co-efficient points, to see whether it increases or decreases, and with it, European spots, to see whether they increase or decrease. So as a result, I've replaced Celtic/Rangers etc. in the European competitions and replaced them by:

Durham - Champions League

Nottinghamshire - Champions League

Hampshire - Europa League

Somerset - Europa League

Scotland's starting points is 30.500

Are you doing a logo pack with the county flags to make the game look nice, would be appreciated for any screen shots.

I'm not that technically or graphically gifted. I wouldn't know what I was doing. But if somebody was willing to do that then they can. I'm not that massively bothered about it but if anyone wanted to then feel free.

So, to add to the fact that I have total carp in my squad, namely Sigurdsson and Uche, I have a regen with a PA of 49 :( And i'm also in the Champions League! To fit in with the theme of this sign up...I can see a few cricket scores there!

Lincolnshires two main local rivals, Notts and Derby are in the top league so no derby matches :(, so happy to have beckam and Dzeko, have a great supply/set piece taker as well as a decent striker to boot! What have you put as our stadium?

I have a logo pack for lincolnshire, it comes with my lincolnshire and humberside database but it would take a bit of time and that will detract from the quality of updates you give for this so dont worry about it. Was just an idea.

I think Lincs will be mid/upper table come the end of season 1 but not in the top few spots sadly.

Season 07-08 - End of Season Report

Division One

div1season1.png

Somerset were top all season. Their form stuttered slightly towards the end of the season but they still staved off the challenge from Worcestershire, who will venture into the Champions League. Hampshire gained the Europa League spot on goal difference. At the bottom, Derbyshire never competed and so will head into Division 2 next season

Division Two

div2season1.png

The title race went down to the last match, and it was Leicestershire won ended up on top, winning by just a point ahead of Surrey, who were unlucky to miss out. At the other end of the table, Glamorgan went down after a terrible season. You'll have to wait and see what happened in the play-offs however with Cornwall

Division Three

div3season1.png

Jose Mourinho's Buckinghamshire were comfortable winners. Down the bottom, 4 points separated 5th and bottom place, but in the end, it was Shropshire who went down. Lincolnshire are in the play-offs, but can they survive?

Division Four

div4season1.png

Isle of Wight were always up at the top and it would've been harsh had they not finished top. Rutland miss out on the play-offs because Herefordshire have scored more goals then them, while Northumberland were poor and are deservedly bottom.

Play-Offs

In the Div 2/3 play-offs, Cornwall lost to their neighbours Devon in the semi-final ensuring that Cornwall would be in Div 3 next season. Devon lost in the final to Cheshire, who had beaten Cumbria, to book their place in Division 2 next season.

The Div 3/4 play-offs, the team facing the prospect of relegation, in this case Lincolnshire, were condemned to their fate in the semi-finals after a defeat to the Isles of Scilly. Herefordshire won the other semi-final against Merseyside, and Herefordshire beat the Isles of Scilly in the final to win promotion.

Cups

Friends Provident Trophy - Durham qualifed for the Europa League after beating Essex in the final. It finished 1-1 after normal time and extra time, and Durham won 5-4 on penalties.

League Cup - Middlesex beat Yorkshire 3-1 in the final to win the League Cup, but no European spot comes with it.

Challenge Cup - Open to teams from Divisions Two, Three and Four, it was contested by an all Div 2 final, with Surrey coming out as victors in a 2-1 triumph over Northamptonshire
