BrokenEagleEye
Hello everyone, I'm BrokenEagleEye and I'm new to the forums so I thought I'd bring myself into the community by doing the Youth Challenge which seems popular and very hard to do, I've made it even harder by loading England down to Level 10 where I've chosen Cockfosters who play in the Spartan South Midlands League Division One. Cockfosters Football Club is a football club based in Cockfosters in the London Borough of Enfield, England. The 2007–08 season saw Cockfosters make their debut in the FA Cup. They beat Essex Senior League side Southend Manor in the Extra Preliminary Round before losing to Welwyn Garden City after a replay in the preliminary round. In the 2010–11 season Cockfosters proceeded through to the preliminary round after beating Hullbridge Sports 2–1. Cockfosters then played local Isthmian League Division One North side Cheshunt, the match ended in a 2–2 draw forcing a replay to which Cockfosters lost out to a 2–1 defeat. Cockfosters play their home games at Chalk Lane, Cockfosters, Hertfordshire, EN4 9JG. The grandstand at Chalk Lane. The rules are simple, I can sign staff if I want (will only sign a Head of Youth Development) I can't sign any players, not even on loan.
BrokenEagleEye
The squad is paper thin and is god awful, all of the reserves and youth players are ineligible which leaves us with a squad of 17 to last us the whole season, here are the supposed best 3 players. letissierandhenryaregreat
yes! Seen 3 teams relatively nearby to me on careers for FM13: Enfield, Wingate & Finchley and now Cockfosters! More North London saves please!
Shevchenko
Loving these youth challenges! Hope this one's gonna be exciting to read!
BrokenEagleEye
yes! Seen 3 teams relatively nearby to me on careers for FM13: Enfield, Wingate & Finchley and now Cockfosters! More North London saves please! It was going to be between Cockfosters & Sun Postal Sports, I only chose based on the name Loving these youth challenges! Hope this one's gonna be exciting to read! Thanks Shevchenko, I'll try my best to make it half-decent haha.
BrokenEagleEye
August 2012 It looks like everyone was made joint favourites apart from Chesham Town Reserves, poor Chesham, we managed to make a whole £1050 already this season just from those 15 people buying season tickets which is great news for us! The league has begun and life has started good picking up 9 points from 12 with only the loss to Coldicote going against us so far. In the first game we did also break a record! FA Cup We didn't exactly put on the best of shows in the FA Cup, going out to Ryton & Crawcrook Albion in the First Qualifying Round although we did take them too a rather dramatic penalty shootout! BrokenEagleEye
September 2012 A very, very poor month falling from 1st down to 11th in just 3 games by only picking up 1 point...The only plus side was that we won a Cup game netting us a massive profit! SRL88
Cockfosters, ha .
Lenzar
Interesting that as a (near) London team you're in the South Midlands league..
Nobby_McDonald
A tenner prize money. Why are all your reserves and youth players ineligible for the first team?
BrokenEagleEye
Cockfosters, ha . I thought people would like the name Interesting that as a (near) London team you're in the South Midlands league.. I guess it's on the borders of 2 different leagues. A tenner prize money. Why are all your reserves and youth players ineligible for the first team? It will definitely keep us going and I don't know but they can all play now so it's all good
Lenzar
You may find your other teams played a game on the same day. That makes them ineligible.
DazRTaylor
Interesting that as a (near) London team you're in the South Midlands league.. That's what I thought - isn't this the end of the Piccadilly line?!
FMtillidie
Good luck!
JackJCFC
Remember getting the tube line to Cockfosters a while ago, raised a chuckle. Congrats on getting through in the cup, that 10 quid will go a long way!
BrokenEagleEye
Thanks everybody, didn't realise this would be so popular
BrokenEagleEye
October 2012 A busy month of inconsistency and another Cup loss, I was really disappointed with the Sun Postal Sports results, we should have had all 3 points, they are bottom for a reason after all... I'm also disappointed with the cup loss, we would have been given a whole £25 for winning the 2nd Round!
BrokenEagleEye
Okay, who broke the Premier League?
Dexter_Morgan
Whilst Liverpool are struggling I won't moan about it Anyway, good luck in your save. Doing it from level 10 is going to be tough so should make a great read
BrokenEagleEye
November 2012 Well the month started well but it soon went downhill as we knock ourselves out of another cup, denying us of the £50 prize money. I can't seem to find a tactic that will work, not even the basic 4-4-2 is doing any good!
BrokenEagleEye
December 2012 Wow! What a turn around this month! The only loss was against leaders Southall so I am very happy, it puts us a bit closer to promotion which I do really need since we have no money, not even for 1 Junior Coaching upgrade! B.W.G
Doing well so far, good to see that your not too far off 2nd either.
Animosama
I think you should also add the backroom staff should be made up of entirely former players eventually ?(makes it more interesting and unique)
BrokenEagleEye
Doing well so far, good to see that your not too far off 2nd either. Thanks B.W.G, the top 2 teams have broken away from the rest of us with a 6 point gap so there's still a big push to be made. I think you should also add the backroom staff should be made up of entirely former players eventually ?(makes it more interesting and unique) That's the plan
BrokenEagleEye
January 2013 Only 4 games this month and we were unbeaten! This extends our run to 7 as we look to make an assault to the top of the table with 12 games left.
cerud
Interesting career and club! Seems as though you're doing well so far.

deltablue
Good start. Maybe Cockfosters will soon be known for something other than being the end of the Piccadilly line.
JackJCFC
Good season so far, slowly creeping up the table. Hope you go up this year!
CityAndColour
Kentish Town would have made for an interesting thread title.

BrokenEagleEye
February 2013 A perfect month! We deserved all 9 points and my only criticism is the amount of goals we conceded in the process.
BrokenEagleEye
2012/13 Youth Intake Paul O'Meara (YP1a) Shaun Windass (YP1b) Nick Hooker (YP1c)
Shevchenko
Hope those boys will develop, their skills look so awful but they must be fantastic for level
BrokenEagleEye
March 2013 The squad are playing amazingly at just grinding out results with a 'you score one, we'll score more' mentality, I really hope it lasts as we really need to get promoted! Also, could there be a shock in the Premier League?
BrokenEagleEye
April 2013 A very anti-climatic end to the season but I got the job done! The board offered me a contract on £400p/w which I have gladly accepted.
BrokenEagleEye
2012/13 - Cockfosters - Spartan South Midlands League Division One League Table - 2nd - Promoted A great debut season sees us go up at the first time of asking where I'll just be looking for survival next season. Challenge Trophy - Second Round - Beat Buckingham Athletic, lost to Stotfold. Division One Trophy - Second Round - Lost to Chesham United Reserves. Dexter_Morgan
well done on the promotion. As Shevchenko says they must be really good for that division even though they look really poor Having O'Meara and Windass being able to go straight in to the first team is an amazing bonus for your chances next year

BrokenEagleEye
August 2013 And back to earth we go after the promotion, already out of the FA Vase, not entered into the FA Cup and only scored once so far, September will be a full month so hopefully we can get some wins! BrokenEagleEye
September 2013 An awful, awful month! Bottom of the league and with nothing in our favour, as the stats show:
BrokenEagleEye
October 2013 The games away to Tring and Hanwell gave me some hope, alas, it was false hope as we only stay above the relegation zone on goal difference...
Shevchenko
Hang on there! Try changing training schedules for strikers to work more on finishing.
