carragherisgod
My captain retired at the end of season one. He wasn't injured or anything and had a pretty good season for me. We finished second in the league and won the FA Cup (only thing that saved me from the sack I think). Now I'm not complaining and claming it's a bug or anything. I just wanted top post my dissapointment in loosing my captain
andu1
Preffered tactic 4-1-2-1-2? )
Nottingham Forest
Did you not try and persuade him to re-consider his retirement with the player interaction thing? I'm sure you can do it for club players as well who want to retire or announce their retirement.
Im not Mozzer
Looking at the screenshot he probably wanted to be part of a side that had a chance of winning the Premiership title.....

SounessTash
Dirk Kuyt retired in my first season after breaking his leg playing for holland. He only retired at the end of the season though after getting months of wages of me while injured.
Lenzar
Has anyone seen a player retire due to an injury in FM12, or even a recent version? I'm assuming that Kuyt in ST's example retired due to age/getting no games, rather than the injury.
tomtuck01
Has anyone seen a player retire due to an injury in FM12, or even a recent version? I'm assuming that Kuyt in ST's example retired due to age/getting no games, rather than the injury. Players retire all too often in FM12 after picking up injuries. So no, Kuyt's retirement wasn't because of his age or a lack of playing time.

tomtuck01
Well, safety wink or no safety wink, it happened. And as I said, it happens too often. Do a search of GD and you ill find a few threads with people moaning about it.

carragherisgod
is Carragher still playing? he needs to retire IRL He is. But he's been very average for me in my second season. I took the captaincy from him and gave it to Reina. Shopuld have done that at the start of the season.
Campbell1892
I would fume if gerrard retired at end of first season, he deffo wouldnt retire unless he new he had a life changing injury or something....

Jumbo
To be fair he's a crock in real life (Rio Ferdinand has played more over the last two seasons and look at the s**t he gets), so it's not that unrealistic. Blessing in disguise, Liverpool do better without him.
J.T
He retired at about 33 on my save, now an attacking coach for my Chelsea team
