XaW Posted July 19, 2020 Share Posted July 19, 2020 An amazing freekick from my goalkeeper Luca Schumacher 25a. Top corner from far out. He is not that good at them, but do sometimes pull those things out of the hat! This is only his 9th total career goals (7 in the league) for us. Earlier he had a fun one where he scored on the 2nd attempt after hitting the wall with his effort. Don't think I've seen any goalkeeper do that before. XaW Posted August 8, 2020 Share Posted August 8, 2020 I started a new save a while ago (since the computer I used for the Germany save above had to go to the shop), and thought I'd update on my current goalkeeper. Not very good at pens, but quite good at freekicks. Anyway, here are his seasons when he scored: So, that would be Season 1: 6 goals Season 2: 5 goals Season 3: 7 goals Season 4: 7 goals Season 5: 9 goals Season 6: 12 goals So, current total 46 goals to his name. XaW Posted August 13, 2020 Share Posted August 13, 2020 So a few seasons later, I think Christian Popovic 27d might not be first choice any more. He is still a decent goalkeeper, but I have a new talent to take his place. In his first 6 season he had 46 goals (post above), and here is the rest: Season 7: 9 goals Season 8: 8 goals Season 9: 7 goals Season 10: 13(!) goals Adding the 46 from the first, and I believe we have a total of 83 career goals for him. The reason he is looking to be "retired" as my goalscoring goalkeeper is because I just had this kid come through the youth intake: 11 freekics, and a major talent for my CL knockout round level team. At club level, we got relegated from the Brazilian top flight winning only four of 38 games. We did however, win our state league and are yet to lose as Brazil boss. You need to stop assuming that the player who has the highest penalty taking attribute is your best penalty taker. This is absolutely not the case. In the 5 games, where my gk was the designated set piece taker, he scored 5 and assisted 5 for China. He even got the top goal scorer award for the East Asian Cup. north_london_fan Posted September 18, 2020 Share Posted September 18, 2020 At the end of the 2151/52 season my club goalie scored 4 goals and assisted 5. He even got an assist from a long throw in! But that will be the last time. because we were conceding too many from counters from our throw ins. Plus having a goalkeeper take throw ins, as well as the rest of set pieces, is a step too far in my opinion. But he will still take the rest of the set pieces. In terms of how the club side did, my former side knocked us out of 3 cup competitions. Twice on penalties and once 0-1. They also won the league, by beating us by an injury time goal, when a draw would have meant we would have won the title. We did win the Charity Shield equivalent and progress to the quarter finals of the Champions League though. On another note, the Chinese No 1 is nearly a 1 in 2 games goal scorer! Penalty. Goal 2. Penalty. Missed penalty. Goal 3. Penalty. Goal 4. Direct free-kick.
