Ishu
Just wondering, I'm looking to start a long term game now the new patch is out (30+ seasons probably), is it wise to have 53 games loaded on my set up? Will it affect it that much? Otherwise, whats a good number of leagues to have for a longer term game and should I set some to view only [ones that I don't plan on playing in but would like to have up] Cheers 53 is decent for a long term. Guest
Which would be the better system to run FM including the 3D match engine? I am presuming the first one? Ishu
3D is easily high on both. First one will be twice as powerful than the second one. The second one is outdated crap.
Tony7
30 should be OK. Thanks I selected Belgium, England, France, Holland, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Scotland and Russia and game speed was 2 stars. Do you think I would be pushing it a bit trying to include the Danish league making it 40 leagues from 12 nations? I would like to add USA league and maybe Australian but that might be too much. If I ran a brazilian league or argentine league would it mean I will be more likely to get decent players from them countries coming through once the current players in the game have retired? My spec again is Apple Macbook Pro CPU Intel Core I5 2.4 GHZ Memory 4GB DDR Graphics card intel HD and Nivdia GeoForce GT 330M

GmutuBaxawe
Hi Ishu, this week my new laptop will (hopefully) be delivered. This thread was very useful when deciding what laptop to go for, so thanks. And would it be possible to run a game with ALL leagues turned on (I realize this may slow the game down after a few years)? Or is there some kind of maximum? ak71
Hi mates, Got a problem here. In order for me to play FM well, ie fast processing speed and high on 3D graphics, i've bought a new laptop. Listed below are the specs: Intel® Core™ i5-460M Processor 2.53GHz Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit 500GB Serial ATA 5400rpm 6GB DDR3 SDRAM (max. 8GB) ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 Graphics with 1 GB DDR3 of Dedicated Video Memory However, i've managed to solve the problem of speed. My System 3D Rating only gives me 2 and half star. Please oh please the wise one, is there anything i can do to improve my System 3D Rating to 4/5...? Thank you. crouchaldinho
My old laptop is struggling along at the moment and I'm wondering just how bad the spec actually is. I've got a Dual Core 1.66GHz processor and 3GB of RAM. I'm running Windows Vista. I know for FM08 and the older versions, my laptop was pretty good, as it only needed a dual core 1.4GHz processor and 1GB RAM. These days, for FM10 and FM11, the box says I need a 2GHz processor - is that a Dual Core one? Anyone have any idea how many leagues I could run and what database size it would be best to use? I wanted to try a journeyman save with quite a few leagues loaded if possible. I'd be grateful for any answers to my questions. Thanks.
Roycebrown
New laptop needed, budget of approximately $600. I've had success with Dell's in the past & get a decent corporate discount for purchasing from Dell.com. But I'm not sure what I should buy, the options appear to be between: INSPIRON 15R (List Price= $529) New 2010 Intel® Core™ i3-370M (2.4GHz, 4Threads, 3M cache) 4GB DDR3 Shared Dual Channel Memory + 500GB 5400RPM HDD or INSPIRON 15R (List Price= $579) New 2010 Intel® Core™ i5-460M (2.53Ghz / up to SC 2.8GHz / 3M) 4GB DDR3 Shared Dual Channel Memory + 500GB 5400RPM HDD The only difference between the two options for $50 seems to be the support of the i5 for Turbo Boost technology, and the general consensus that the i5 is better than the i3 processor. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Roycebrown
@Roycebrown, I would go with the i5 it is newer and more powerful. It is worth $50 more for the slightly faster processor (2.4 compared to 2.53) & Turbo Boost (which seems pretty useless so far)? I am leaning towards the i5, unless there's a way better way to spend $500-600. Also, how will FM11 run on an i5?
