  1. It is indeed the contract that caused it. I assume it's a fairly big contract? It's important to remember that I won't have a drastic effect. A Model Citizen can't really 'turn bad', if we're only talking about a 3 point reduction in those 2 attributes. That Personality will have top Prof and Ambition, so it will still be very good even with it being 3 points lower.
  2. I don't tend to look too much at individual statistics like this, but rather focus more on team statistics and the eye test, but it was interesting looking into mine. My media prediction is 6th, but we narrowly missed out on 2nd place at the end. I used 2 keepers during the season. A 33 yo veteran keeper was used at the start of the season but picked up a ligament injury in October. That opened the path for an 18 yo keeper with a lot of potential to show what he can do. The 33 yo is a 3* player while the 18 yo only a 2* CA. It shows if I look at the stats, though both did well compared to most of the league. Ortega (the 18 yo) played well, so he kept his place for most of the rest of the season as I want him to develop with Vandevoord now 33.
  3. It sounds correct. You're allocated a scouting budget and you can add to it by using your transfer budget. Since you have 0 transfer budget, there's nothing more to add to the scouting budget. Not sure if it'll work, but you could try asking the board for an increased transfer budget.
  4. This has no direct impact on a youth intake. The club reputation is a factor though, especially if there are clubs with the same Youth Recruitment: https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/500635-youth-intake-in-fm20/#comment-12103524 This will influence some newgens' personalities And this will influence the "type" of players he would look to bring in. So, yes, while I agree that it does affect newgens (apart from rep), it won't influence the quality of a youth intake, which is what the OP is after. Even if you have the 'best' HoYD, it doesn't guarantee anything: @ryandormer - there's not much you can do at this point. You have the best facilities, so you effectively bought as many tickets for the lottery as you can. It's still a lottery and you're competing against quite a few big clubs just in London, let alone the rest of the country. I do agree that your best player to come through doesn't look that special at first glance, as I tend to look at physicals first, but he has decent mental attributes for a player that young and physical attributes can develop well in young players. Is this a general trend (Mental Attributes being better developed than other areas) that you see in your newgens? Because, as mentioned, your HoYD can influence (so not all of them) the "type" of player coming through and if it isn't the type you want, it might be time to look for another HoYD. Keep tabs on how your newgens are developing though. As you've found by looking at your 'best intake player', coaches can be quite wrong when judging players that young. You might see someone rapidly developing when it wasn't expected of them to.
  5. Would need to do a deeper dive into the xG story to really see if there wasn't a good chance here or there, but it looks like you're not consistently creating good ones and you're consistently giving away good chances. It isn't the case for every example you posted, but you can see a trend. Rashidi already went over this earlier. In these examples, there were a few matches where you were very lucky to be able to get a draw out of it and there were matches you should have lost and other matches where you rightfully won. Would need to do a deeper dive into the matches though - the xG story etc.
  6. Tbh, I don't play Touch myself, so not 100% sure. I would either check in the Training tab (firstly pressing L thing on your left to bring up navigation) or by going to an individual player's development (and then Training, I assume) tab to rest them.
  7. Okay, that doesn't actually look to bad. When you mentioned some of tactics you use (used?), it sounded more like you were running your players into the ground with very intense tactics. It shows you have 4 out, which isn't that unreasonable. You might have to be careful with your players though as it shows you have 15 players at high risk because of the match load and intensity of your tactic. If I get to a place in the schedule where I have a lot of matches in a short space of time, I'll rest the players from training who will play a lot.
  8. @Triggerusa39, this discussion has stalled. Please provide information on what you're doing. What does your tactic look like and how much do you rotate? You need to take care of players. Injuries are well below IRL levels, so there must be something going on here. The more info you can provide, the better and we can get closer to a solution.
  9. We're not. It's the same ME. I also see some underhit passes. Most of the times it still gets to the player, but it is intercepted on occasion. Which highlights mode you choose to watch on will very obviously make a big difference, so keep that in mind. It'll also depend on the tactical setup, the players and their attributes.
  10. But the matches would and as I said - my players aren't making those mistakes very often at all. I do see some passes being intercepted etc, but it's not a fatal blow to my team because I don't take overly aggressive risks with how I play. PC
  11. Where are you getting this from? The lowest pass % a starting defender of mine has is 87%. The other 3 have 87%, 88% and 89% That is higher than what you see IRL, but about right if you look at top teams, so I'm not sure why you label it as 'silly'. I've only been at the club for half a season, so it could be a lot higher next season if I am still around. Between the 4 defenders, there are only 2 mistakes leading to goals and it's by the same player. My players aren't making mistakes constantly at all.
  12. Well then there's no point in discussing the topic, tbh. I have taken the time offer you possible reasons, but if you're just simply going to dismiss it without even considering it, it stops the discussion dead in its tracks. Despite the possibility of many factors affecting things, especially in a cup final, you're again resorting to scripting or hocus pocus claims. It's not only incorrect (as the game isn't scripted in the way you suggest), but I really think you'll enjoy the game more if you realise you're have control to influence than you think!
  13. @Triggerusa39 Can you show me your tactical setup? How much do you rotate?
  14. You've left out a very important statistic - blocked shots. It looks like it may have been 9 blocked shots. This was a 0.21 xG chance for me, but it was hit straight at the defender blocking it. I've had much worse examples. This makes my xG look better than what it actually is. The fact is that I didn't create enough space and that was a tactical issue. Now, if I do create actual good chances and not scoring, I will be looking at who the chances well to whether it was down to an attribute, body language or possible inconsistency etc to try and find the issue. I can always find an explanation if I look hard enough.
  15. Ways of getting around licensing restrictions cannot be discussed on the forum.
  16. They tend to cut in quite well if you don't have a DM that gets in their way. I have experimented with a potent tactic that has a MC instead of a DMC and the fullbacks invert quite well.
  17. The are no more planned updates, other than the next data update for Chinese clubs. Refunds are handled by retailers.
  18. No, but as I said both are important. If you have a 5 star coach, but he has far too many players to train, the quality of the training each player receives, will be poor as you're not utilising a good coach very well. If you have a 2 star coach with a few players, the players get the attention they need, but the training quality of a 2 star coach will be poor. Either way - it's a poor outcome. You have to find a balance until you're able to get more staff in to help out the workload.
  19. Both are important. If I were you, I'd really push to add one more coach and then assign him to help out in the areas where the workload is Heavy or Very Heavy.
  20. There are many, many ways to play. Normally, I have 1 main tactic. As Johnny said, I'll make small tweaks depending on how we start the match. My 2nd tactic is usually a tactic that I'd use to see out a match, especially if it's a tight match and I feel it would be too risky to keep the main tactic. Sometimes, my main tactic will have a weakness... maybe against 2 striker systems or against 3 central defenders etc and in a case like that, I would make a tactic specifically for that situation and I only use it in those matches where I know my main tactic will be weaker. In my current save, I have a main tactic and I use it for 80% of matches. I'm a top 3 team in Portugal right now, so when I meet the other 2 (away from home) or superstar teams in Europe, I use my 2nd tactic, which is more solid defensively and more counter attacking. My third tactic is a bonkers tactic that I use in matches where I am a clear favourite and it's goals galore.
  21. Upsets happen all the time, so the odd match where it happens to you, is expected. Some of those you can turn around though. More importantly, if you're experiencing a lot of these matches, it's tactical and can be solved. Over the course of a season, I'll only have 2 or 3 matches that end up like this. The other 2-3 matches were matches I was able to turn around (getting the win after an early goal etc). Keep an eye on your conversion rate. You should have at least a conversion rate of 10%. Ideally, closer to 12-13%. If you're sitting at below 10%, it could indicate that you either have a tactical issue or that the chances aren't falling to players who will consistently finish off a chance. xG can also help. I aim for at least 0.1 xG per shot, on average. Less than that and I know I am not creating good chances. Above that and still struggling to score? I'll look at who the chances are falling to and what the issue might be that they're not scoring. Injuries in-game are much lower (annoyingly, imo) than real life. So I would first look at what the medical centre tells you about your amount of injuries. If it's higher than expected (I'm typically 50% lower than expected, if not more) then there could be reasons for it. Poor pre-season, extremely high intensity tactics combined with training, injury prone players etc could all have an effect.
