kingcav
I would like to see Kalou starting, but I don't think he will. I reckon it'll be: (presuming he starts a strong team) Cudicini Geremi Carvalho Terry Ferreira Makelele Essien Ballack Lampard Drogba Shevchenko I'd like to see: Cudicini, Ferreira, Gallas, Terry, Bridge, Makelele, Essien, Ballack, Lampard, Shevchenko, Kalou Or maybe even swap Lampard for Drogba and play a more 4-3-3. nuts
I am getting old. I can't even be bothered to get worked up over Moaninho's pathetic antics about the fact that Chelsea have had less time to prepare for this season than e.g. Arsenal. I hope Kalou will do well as he has the potential to be world-class but I do have doubts about his very resilient nature

Administrators Philip Rolfe Posted August 8, 2006 Author Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2006 Away one isn't out yet Feyenoord tonight, I expect fringe guys to play because the bulk of the first team will be playing Celtic. Which I'm still refusing to pay £40 for. Where do you tend to sit usually mate? I kinda expect tonight's team to be Hilario Geremi Mancienne Carvalho Elmer Diarra Mikel Smith Kalou SWP SC I don't really know how it'll work, the reserves have a game at Hampton and Richmond tonight so Elmer might be there instead. Maybe Bertrand gets the game there instead, and if Didier and Sheva play Celtic than that leaves either Kalou up top tonight or Sinclair/Cummings/Weirauch/Sahar to play Feyenoord, and as I said, I expect most of them to feature for the reserves. Unless they really intend to play a lot of guys on back to back nights?
kingcav
I was watching the Chelsea - mls game last night. We looked unbalanced with the lack of wingers (added to the fact that SWP was very poor). Sat in the West Stand upper and lower before and the Harding end. Celtic game to be my first time in The Shed and hopefully will be fffb as that's where all the singing and that goes on. Can't stand sitting in the posh area of a ground it's *****. Whenever I got some Brighton tickets it was always in the posh season ticket area and it was boring. Got an e-mail saying the Chelsea away isn't out untill the 11th Only going to buy one shirt so I dunno whether to wear an old one But get my nice long sleeved away shirt this weekend or go into town and get a home/gk shirt for the game. First time I'd seen the GK shirt up close today and it looks rather nice. Also got some strange grippy things on the wrist and forearm area of the sleeve which look interesting as to whether they will actually work.
Dee
Much better performance tonight. Finishing wise however we were very poor, Ballack poor finishing, Drogba as well, Kalou needs to learn to shoot rather than pass everytime. Only time they threatened at all was the free kick at end. shanyi
Sounds like a good game, according to the Chelsea website Lampard was immense (knew his England form was Eriksson's fault) and his passing was back to its best after a lull last season. Sounds like Shevchenko is fitting right in!

May have been because we were playing Huddersfield the only time I was sitting there but the only songs I remember was telling some Huddersfield numpty to shut up, **** off when they scored and he decided to unfurl a Huddersfield flag in the middle of west upper Soon got escorted out. Also a short rendition of "you're not singing anymore" when we got the second. May have just been the opposition though

shanyi
Oddly enough, I think my first time in the Upper Stands was a game against Huddersfield too, though thems was the days of Frank Leboeuf, Tore Andre Flo and Mikael Forssell. Dreadful game, we contrived to lose 1-0 (the League Cup, I think), so I don't like the Uppers either.
