Makoto Nakamura
2024 End of Season Review This has been probably one of the weirdest seasons I've ever had, the board absolutely hate me for our league form but they can't sack me because of our cup form, this season we retained the Open Cup and won continental competitions in two separate continents! I have decided however that I do not like the MLS. 2024 Best XI Abraham Romero Chris Cadden - Giles Dewaele - Andres Perez - Christian Gutierrez Daniel Algert - Sean Davis Michael Jones - Jose Manuel - Cristian Penilla Jose Daniel Jacome

Only issue I've had is that we weren't able to register players for the Copa Sudamericana last season so I had to holiday the first match after that some of the players became available, and it's probably not an issue but we didn't qualify for the Libertadores by winning the Sudamericana but I'm guessing it's supposed to be that way. It’s good a read as all your posts are. just a quick question, are managers getting sacked in your save? I’ve just done a few test runs on the database file and I’m not sure managers are leaving their jobs. Just curious

Just curious The average tenure of an MLS manager is just over 2 years so I'd say managers are leaving at a good rate.

Hootieleece
Much better progress this season. I just got caught up. I was hoping when you were a college coach you would play my Alma Mater, University of Massachusetts-Lowell. But the Great Makoto Nakamura managing the Revs is something I never thought I would ever see. The Revs Board must be programmed into thinking their soccer manager must duplicate the Patriots NFL success.

I remember offering 4M (allocation money) + 2 first round picks for a very good player that was transfer listed. The offer got rejected. A week later I got that player for free via waivers draft. Hootieleece
MLS Wage Structure is easy. There is a Salary Cap of $4.25M/year. You can pay 3 players as much as you want, but have enough allocation money available to buy down their salaries to Max allowed levels about $450K/year. Anyone else in the Starting 11 should have a Senior Contract paying them as little as possible, but again have allocation money to buy down contracts above $338,000/year. Fill out your squad with players on Senior minimum salary contracts ($70k/year) and reserve contracts ($56k/year). It is just a more complicated way to use the Transfer Budget to pay player Salaries. The thinking about the idea of a salary cap (other than controlling payroll costs) is about competitive balance. It makes it hard to create a Dynasty ,(win League many years in a row) so that every season everyone has a theoretical chance to win. That is why the bad teams get high Draft Picks. (to help them get better players)
