Very, very close season! We won two games against Valletta, and that made us come above them even though they had better GD than us! So for the second time, we have won the league! We failed in the FA Trophy this year. But did pretty good in the EURO Cup. I have no idea how Andrea Busuttil did not win the PotS award. Warg92 Posted December 15, 2016 Author Share Posted December 15, 2016 Champions League 2032/33 Back to the Champions League after our win last season! First up, Ventspils from Latvia. Two cazy games! We smashed them in the first game. In the second game I thought I would let some of the reserves play. It did not go well, but we still made it. Then we played Rijeka. We should already have scored in the fist game, but the strikers missed some HUGE chances. Next up, FC Steaua! Perhaps the easiest of the teams we could meet this round. But still a very good team, that SHOULD beat us! We won the first game, and it was deserved for once! Now then, the next game, if we managed to hold on we would be in the Champions League! And that is what we did! They attacked like crazy, but we made it! Champions League, here we come! If we finish the group stage with less than 30 goals against us I'll be happy! One massive thing that have happened is that almost all of the players are from other places than Ta´Xbiex. I think that is because of us turning pro. We were probably a bit lucky this year, as Valletta really had a bad season for their standards. And we also were very lucky in some games. And, I do not think Valletta likes us. Two of those red cards were straigth red. FA Trophy and BOV Super Cup. I underestimated Mosta in the game we lost. Champions League! What a year! Almost grabbing a point in the group stages! The new stadium! Look at all that money the authororities gave us! I've never had a stadium built in a save in a small country, but isnt 1m quite cheap for a new stadium? We had no problems in the first game. In the second game they scored on every shot on goal. Next up, AIK from Sweden. Two good games! The team we had to beat to be in the CL Group Stages was Dinamo. We did well in the first game, not letting in more than a goal. But in the second game we got destroyed, and we where lucky not to concede more goals. So, we're out of the Cl, but in to the EURO Cup group stages. A very hard group. But, it's still better than last year group! Other teams from Malta in Europe. Floriana. Tarxien. Valletta. Again, we got a really good player! In the DM spot we only have a single player that is good, and a couple that is usable, so it's a good intake. But we really have to keep this up if we want to place above Valletta in the years to come. The only reason we placed above them this year was because we won a game against them. Fa Trophy/BOV Super Cup/CL/EC Another win in the Super Cup and in the FA Trophy, pluss we did very well out in Europe, so it was a good year! Players Sorted After Apps. Retiring! One of the players from the first youth intake has decided he's going to retire! After he was the number one striker for the first 5-6 seasons, he was moved on to the U19 team because I did not want to release him. And now he's calling it quits. This guys development is insane! I also got this very surprising offer! I declined, as I already have signed a deal with Malta (again). Champions League. First up this year, Sarajevo from Bosnia and Herzegovina, a team we should have no big problem beating. And we did not have a massive problem really. Next up, Videoton, from Hungary. Should be on the same level as Sarajevo. We were the best team over two legs, and won both games 2-1. Then, for the most important games. Against Sparta Prague, from the Czech Republic. This was the easiest team we could get in this round! The first game, away, we were actually the best team. In the second game they attacked from the start, and they really pushed us! But they could not score! But we did, two times! And for the second time in three years we're in the group stages of the Champions League! Arguably a "easier" group than the last time in the CL, but still a very hard group. The other teams from Malta in Europe. Birkirkara. Floriana. Valletta. I doubt Valletta could have gotten a harder team at that stage. But they did very good! Even though Bayern isnt the best team in Germany at the moment. We managed to draw away against CSKA Moscow, and even win the home game against them! That means we are in the knock out stages of the EURO Cup! There we will meet Köln. I'm going to retrain him into a RB, as the only player we have in that position is a 2*. Overall a worse intake than we usually have, but we can't get a starter each year. The three best. Valletta had a really bad season, so we won the league pretty early this year. One thing though, we scored 25 less goals this year than last year. It might be because both of our strikers was injured 2-3 months. On the other hand, we conceded 12 less, so thats good. FA Trophy. We won the Trophy again. We should have no problem winning this every year. Unless we meet Valletta CL/EC We did very good this season. Getting to knockout stages of the EC. Players sorted after apps. Awards. The first season we actually could play a team from another country in the pre season! We should really be above Valletta soon. The Squad. Key Players. Seriously, look at this guy! He's amazing! Champions League. First up this year, Skënderbeu, from Albania. Complete destruction! David Cauchi made his debut in the first game, and he did ok... I guess... Then, Shamrock Rovers, from Ireland. We had no problems at all. One thing we really need though is a players that can take penalties, we're missing way to many! Then, for the most important match, we met Legia Warzawa from Poland. Two close games, but we're the ones that scored, and that sends us through! 3 times in the last 4 years! Amazing! I forgot to take a picture when the groups were drawn, but this is the teams we meet. I'm assuming you did try to offer them a contract and they still weren't interested - because scouts will label the player as 'no interest' but in reality they are interested but they require some promises to be made before the actual negotiations start. Valletta is struggling again this season. They started very good, but when they lost a game, they did not win for five games. Champions League We actually managed to beat Besiktas in the second game against them, and that way we made it in to the knockout stages of the EURO Cup. Who do we meet there? Köln... Yes, Köln again. Damnit... Transfers. I managed to get two players back again. These two players used to be stars when they left the club. Manuel Cassar is so good at the moment, so all the players looks bad in comparison. We only have two players in the team with 5* POT, just because of him! But look at this!
