Reis... DANI VISSER IS THERE...OHHH HE'S HIT THE POST! Would Stuart Grant have got it? I'm not sure.
PaulHartman71
43th minute: Gillingham are hoping they can ride out the rest of this half now. They've got a throw in half way into the United half. Ryan Taylor chucks it towards Voyzey, he heads it down and Powell will hit this into the box...O'REILLY... a big chance but a big save from Butterworth in the United goal keeps it at 1-0. PaulHartman71
45th minute: It's half time here. A good performance from Gillingham so far will have the lower league neutrals happy that a regular team is winning.
PaulHartman71
49th minute: Nick Smith smashes the ball up the pitch from the United half. Mutumbo latches onto it, he's got Reis to his right and Ben Stanley ahead of him...it's Stanley now, Stanley prancing forward for the Reds, he's got captain Tim Cowan ahead of him, Cowan now who will strike it first time...ohhhh a big chance but it's gone just wide after being parried away from Stuart Grant. PaulHartman71
82nd minute: Gillingham on the counter now. PaulHartman71
April 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss this month in the league, which isn't bad form, but when you're desperately chasing a last gasp Playoff space, it's probably not quite good enough. 2 points off with 2 games to go. Stranger things have happened, but it's out of our hands and we'll need results to go our way.

PaulHartman71
May We lost to Bristol but beat Cambridge 4-1. Somehow this was actually enough to get 6th ahead of Bolton. We both finished on 70 points with 10 goal difference, so we got in based on the fact we'd scored about 21 goals more than them over the season. In the Playoff Semi we will face my old side, Swindon Town.
PaulHartman71
The first part of our double header with Swindon will take place in Gillingham, Kent. 16,575 have turned up, with just 828 making the trip from Swindon.

Furkan Bahar with the ball, he slots it in to Ryan Taylor just outside the box, he's got Voyzey and O'Reilly making runs ahead of him, it's to VOYZEEEEEY.... big save from the Swindon keeper to keep it at 0-0!
PaulHartman71
18th minute: Mputu with the ball on the right hand side for Swindon, he's got 2 red shirts in the box, they'll have to navigate their way past the 3 blue ones though, Mputu whips it in... oh and Buchan beats his man and heads it in! It's Swindon who get us underway here, it's GILLINGHAM 0-1 SWINDON TOWN!

PaulHartman71
73rd minute: Gillingham trying to counter. It's Atkinson the substitute bringing it forward, his fellow sub Craig Paterson is ahead of him, Ed Voyzey already near the box and screaming for it... it's Voyzey who has it and Voyzey who will strike it.... ohhhh and he's hit the post! A big big chance that goes begging!
PaulHartman71
84th minute: Powell for Gillingham in the Swindon half, it's looking like Kelly will make a run down the right wing, he's unopposed and is in... Kelly with a beautiful low ball into the box AND THE SUBSTITUTE CRAIG PATERSON POPS UP WITH WHAT COULD BE AN ABSOLUTELY HUGE LAST MINUTE GOAL! GILLINGHAM 2-1 SWINDON TOWN! PaulHartman71
88th minute: Coleman in the Gillingham half for Swindon. Can he carve one last chance for the away side? He finds Angell with his back to goal just outside the Gillingham box, Angell passes it back to Boyd... who hits a wonderful first time lofted pass into the Gillingham box...and MULGREW HAS BEATEN THE OFFSIDE TRAP AND IS IN.... OHHH AND HE'S TAPPED IT HOME INTO THE BOTTOM RIGHT HAND CORNER! A late late equaliser to cancel out Gillingham's goal just minutes ago, a huge blow for Adam Hart's men. PaulHartman71
94th minute: It's all over! An exciting game here in Kent, but Adam Hart will be fuming that his boys failed to hold onto their lead after going ahead late on. They both go to Swindon with it all to play for though. Who will make it to Wembley?!

PaulHartman71
Voyzey unfortunately picked up a bit of a knock in the first leg, so he's only fit enough to play half hour or so of the 2nd half. Paterson who scored our late goal in the 1st leg comes in to replace him.
PaulHartman71
15th minute: Swindon starting well. Chris Boyd in a bouyant mood as he brings the ball into the Gillingham half, he's got Pat Webster ahead of him, it's Webster now running through the middle, he's got Miles Barnes making a run into the box... IT'S MILES BARNES.... a big save from Stuart Grant to prevent Swindon from getting an early opener!
PaulHartman71
33rd minute: A corner for Swindon, with Regis Mputu to put it in. It's Mputu's ball... PaulHartman71
46th minute: And the referee draws a close to what has been a pretty pedestrian first half for both sides. Swindon perhaps the better side at home, but this game has lacked action and desire so far. Both sides defending deep, they seem more concerned with not losing than winning this game. PaulHartman71
54th minute: A free kick for Gillingham in a decent position. Furkan Bahar to have a crack. It's FURKAN BAHAR.... inches wide of the Swindon goal!
PaulHartman71
65th minute: David Doyle knocks it forward for the Reds... he's found Pat Webster who will take the ball forward further into enemy territory, but Matty Adamson the Gills substitute has come sliding in and taken him out! The ref's blown for a free-kick and yes, he's only been on the field for 5 minutes but that's a yellow card for Adamson. He'll have to be careful now.
PaulHartman71
79th minute: Gillingham have another chance from a free-kick. This time it will be Robbie Powell on his left foot. PaulHartman71
85th minute: Camara on the left wing for Swindon. They've not got long to find an equaliser, but they did get one in the first leg, so maybe they can do the same tonight. Camara looking to find Mulgrew...oh and it's intercepted by Matty Adamson. But the whistle has gone. He got the ball but absolutely clattered the man to get to it...and oh the referee is going for his back pocket, this won't be good news for The Gills... IT'S NOT! IT'S A RED CARD FOR MATTY ADAMSON AND GILLINGHAM WILL PLAY WITH 10 MEN FOR THE LAST 5 MINUTES HERE!
PaulHartman71
86th minute: Coleman with it for Swindon. He knocks it forward on the edge of the box to Camara who heads it into the danger area.... AND BARNES SMASHES IT FIRST TIME STRAIGHT INTO THE NET!!! IT'S TAKEN LESS THAN 60 SECONDS FOR SWINDON TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR EXTRA MEN AND ANOTHER LATE GOAL FOR SWINDON MAKES IT SWINDON TOWN 1-1 (3-3) GILLINGHAM
PaulHartman71
95th minute: Adam Hart looks on frustrated as the referee blows for full time. PaulHartman71
Marcus Llorente's Chelsea side lifted the Premier League this season, as well as the Champions League as the Spaniard's side beat Man United in the final in Moscow. Man City finished 4th and subsequently sacked their manager Wes Morgan after a fairly disappointing two seasons, they replaced him with former Monaco manager Davy Klaasen. Arsenal had sacked their manager, Stephan Lichtsteiner in January as they were lingering in 5th, they replaced him with Atletico Madrid man, Timm Klose, who has since guided them to 3rd. Elsewhere in the Pyramid, Leeds United were relegated from the Championship, whilst it was an even worse season for Scunthorpe who were relegated from the Football League entirely. Morecambe return to League 2 after a short absence, with Boreham Wood joining them to make the Football League for the first time in their history. My contract expires at the end of the season so it will be interesting to see whether or not they renew me, they didn't expect to make the Playoffs so I think they probably will though. I haven't asked as I've been hoping a better club in League 1 or even the Championship will come in for me, although that doesn't seem too likely as there's been little interest so far. The club is in the red unfortunately so for now another course is out of the question.

PaulHartman71
Season 31: Gillingham A decent season, of course it was very disappointing to miss out on the Playoff Final in the manner that we did, but at least we won the EFL Trophy so I can add a trophy to my collection. Squad Ed Voyzey was the star of the show, with 42 goals and 12 assists for him. Dean O'Reilly did well too, with 25 goals and 18 assists. Furkan Bahar was a powerful presence in midfield. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Season Club Division Position Achievements/Other --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2016/17 Ipswich Wanderers Eastern Counties Premier League 8th Eastern Counties League Cup winners 2017/18 Ipswich Wanderers Eastern Counties Premier League 11th Left in November --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2017/18 Coventry Sphinx Midland Football Premier League 13th N/A 2018/19 Coventry Sphinx Midland Football Premier League 10th Left in December -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2018/19 Carlton Town United Counties Premier League 8th United Counties League Cup runners-up. PaulHartman71
Another summer where we sold one of our bigger players, as Furkan Bahar was poached by Championship side Southend. It was too much to turn down for someone that we could fairly easily replace so it was a no brainer for all parties really. Our goalkeeper Stuart Grant had a year left on his contract and Dundee United turned his head, would've liked to get more for him but I just let him leave and got someone else in. Not too many of these signings were made to be out and out first team starters, but we did need a bit more depth to get us through the full season. Rocco Kelly is an exciting striker who will compete with O'Reilly and Voyzey for first team, with the 3 of those all being good strikers at this level I'm hoping we'll get the goals we need to go up. My only worry with Rocco is that the last 2 seasons he's spent wasting away at Celtic barely playing, although he did have a promising loan spell at Huddersfield in the Championship 3 years ago where he got 8 goals in 11 starts so he must be alright. Jim Park should play a big part in our midfield battles this season, with the 28 year old Scot joining on a free after Coventry released him. Mohamed Tarfi joins to replace Stuart Grant, the 22 year old Moroccan has spent his whole career at Championship side Rotherham who have never really given him a chance, he'll get a chance here though. mrdanbartlett
Jim Park looks a great signing. Really hope you can start the season well, make sure you have some easy friendlies before the fixtures begin so that moral will be nice and high.
PaulHartman71
August A confident display kicked off our League Cup campaign against Crawley, with Dean O'Reilly getting a hat-trick. Unfortunately we lost away to Forest in the 2nd Round to be eliminated. We didn't get off to the best of starts in the league with 2 losses in a row, but since then we've won 2 and drawn with Crewe. Unfortunately, Voyzey broke his leg against Luton Town and will potentially be out for almost the entire season. A big loss, but we do still have two capable strikers in O'Reilly and Rocco, we just need to keep both of them fit.
mrdanbartlett
Get someone on loan ASAP! Unless you play 1 up front 2 strikers will never be enough, pretty sure you play 4-4-
