stevemc
Chelsea 2017/18 My journeyman career has led me to accepting the Chelsea job in the summer of 2017/18, odd really, seeing as I am a Manchester United in real life, but thought I'd give it a go, having previously managed Juventus and Barcelona, I'm seeking to win the Champions League with 3 different teams. The squad was ageing, and also had alot of loans, so I needed a huge overhaul before I'd be happy. Retired are the likes of John Terry, but the squad is largely close to current-day. Roman gave me a budget of £105m, which could be adjusted higher, and with the player sales, I was left with a hefty kitty. Chelsea already had the likes of Berardi, Romognoli and Chambers at the club. So I decided to move on the ageing Cahill (replaced with Stones), Fabregas, Willian, Bonucci, Luis, Matic and Bacca. And brought in my former players Pogba, Tielemans and Pereyra from Juventus plus Odegaard and Hojbjerg, to reduce the overall age of the squad. We were very weak at wing-back, so I brought in David Carmona and Baines as cover for Azpilcueta and Cuadrado. Here are my total ins & outs: Net spend of £85m, and in my opinion, a far superior squad to what they had last season. Cech has announced his retirement, so this will be his final season. I signed these two regens, who I tracked the whole of last season, I like the look of them both: And this kid was already at Chelsea, through the intake, so he's been promoted to the first team along with Chalobah: Jose Mourinho's career has stagnated after being sacked by Chelsea, and failing at Roma, is now the manager of West Ham United. lacoste8030
Ok guys, erm I am having my hardest transfer market ever, so confused. Am only in summer 2015 but identified players to bring in who my scouts had scouted and gave them 5 stars but now they scout them again and just give them 3 or 4 stars. like dennis praet and gimenez and mitrovic and werner have all only been given 3.5 stars or 4 stars when they were 4.5 or 5 stars. why has this happened? Are they still good enough for me to bring in or what?

stevemc
Chelsea 2017/18 Decided to bring back fans favourite Joe Cole back to the club as an assistant manager for my youth team. Then released Holland as my assistant manager and brought back this guy: The Champions League draw was steady, I expect to qualify (currently top after 3 games): My 19 year old summer signing Wagner has really taken off, just capped (and scored) internationally, scoring goals for fun for us, I seriously think I may have the next Messi/Ronaldo level player in the making, he's that good for 19: Solid start in the league, despite having 4 first team players out injured, the loss at Old Trafford is the difference: In the Capital One Cup, an away win at Sheffield Wednesday has put us into the quarter finals with a home tie against Liverpool. stevemc
Chelsea 2017/18 My wonderkid regen Wagner is starting to hit new heights, already labelled world class at 19 years of age: As for me, I hit 200 games in management: Cruised through in the Champions League: Having not been happy my defence, I decided to go big and bring in Balanta in January: We are through into the Capital One Cup semi finals, and the FA Cup 4th round. As for the league, here is how I left it: MY CAREER --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Season | Team | Country | League & Finish | Cups | Continental --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2014/15 | Juventus | Italy | Serie A - 1st | Supercoppa - Winners | Champions League - Finalists TIM Cup - Winners 2015/16 | Juventus | Italy | Serie A - 1st | Supercoppa - Winners | Champions League - Winners TIM Cup - Winners 2016/17 | Barcelona | Spain | La Liga - 1st | Copa Del Rey - Winners | Champions League - Winners 2017/18 | Chelsea | England | Premier League - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
stevemc
Chelsea 2017/18 Since the new year, we've hit some brilliant form, and Balanta has helped shut goals out at the other end too, here is my manager of the month form: Manchester United slipped up and dropped slightly now, we've got a great chance to finish the job off now in the league: Managed to pick up some silverwear with the Capital One Cup, beating Arsenal in a derby, Mancini was spouting off before the game too: I'm having some real issues with Oscar, underperforming then demanding more playing time, its got so bad that I've demoted him and he'll be getting sold at the end of the season. stevemc
If you are going to win back to back semi finals, then this is the way to do it: FA Cup: Champions League (against my former club, whom Brendan Rodgers is manager of) :
stevemc
Chelsea 2017/18 Had a brilliant first season in England with Chelsea, sweeping every trophy we took part in, eventually wrapping up the league title with a home win against nearest contenders, Manchester United: The signing of Eder Balanta in January took us up a level, defensively we were poor, but after he came in, it all fell into place. Here are some of the player stats; • Hazard claiming the golden boot after me moving him up front to play as a striker.* • Odegaard, Wagner and Pogba dominating the assist charts. We won the Capital One Cup, beating Arsenal in a local derby: Followed by the FA Cup, beating Norwich, with Hazard running riot: My player of the season was Gerald Wagner, my regen wonderkid I signed for £12m from Basel, is fast becoming one of the best players in the world at the age of 18/19: The Champions League was the big one for me, Chelsea failed in it for years, and the semi final draw left us with 2 of my former teams to pass. Comfortably disposed of Brendan Rodgers Juventus 8-3 on aggregate to set up a final against my other former club, Barcelona: Turned out easy in the end, but could have been worse after Vrsajlko was sent off after 32 minutes. Rather then defend that lead, I decided to go 3 at the back, take off my wing backs, play narrow, and push higher up, pressing from the front, forcing errors, including two penalties from interceptions. The season's success has pushed me into 17th in the Hall Of Fame, just behind Jock Stein. I've got an initial budget of £100m, but I'm going to sell off 6/7 players, and bring in 2-3 key players and trim the squad, I need another top centre-back for certain. MY CAREER --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Season | Team | Country | League & Finish | Cups | Continental --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2014/15 | Juventus | Italy | Serie A - 1st | Supercoppa - Winners | Champions League - Finalists TIM Cup - Winners 2015/16 | Juventus | Italy | Serie A - 1st | Supercoppa - Winners | Champions League - Winners TIM Cup - Winners 2016/17 | Barcelona | Spain | La Liga - 1st | Copa Del Rey - Winners | Champions League - Winners 2017/18 | Chelsea | England | Premier League - 1st | League Cup - Winners | Champions League - Winners FA Cup - Winners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
stevemc
Chelsea 2018/19 Had a clear out of the the coaching staff over the Summer, decided not to renew the contracts of around 20 staff (coaches, physio's, scouts etc) and re-build, brought some Chelsea legends back into the fold to coach my under 18's: I've got an initial budget of £100m, done some wheeling and dealing, but here is my progress so far, I still have 2/3 players to sell off (Berardi, Vrsaljko and possibly Gil Romero), but largely my transfers in are done, any further money I bring in. I will use to buy players under 17: I needed a top centre back to partner Balanta, and identified Varane as that player, with Chambers, Stones & Chalobah as capable back ups (replacing Papadopulous (£20m) & Romagnoli (£33m)). I brought in Alaba for LB (Baines as back up), and Azpilcueta shifts over to right back with Peruzzi as back up (replacing Carmona (£25m) & Vrsaljko). Petr Cech retired, so I brought Rulli in on a free. Januzaj cost £3m at a tribunal, so I decided to cut loose Bruma (£30M) and Pereyra (£20m) I cheekily found that Ronaldo was available after his agent offered him around, so I thought it was too good to turn down, even though he is 33, his stats are still insane: To compensate this deal I moved on the 29-year-old Diego Costa for £50m, to Real Madrid. Ronaldo will now be my central striker. Now I'm not even going to apologise for this deal, but I bought Messi for £80m, plus £22m agent fee, but the chance to pair Messi & Ronaldo (with Hazard) is the same team is pretty much porn: This season is going to be a high scoring one I've promoted 3 English youth players into the first team too, so we are better off on our HG quota too. MY CAREER --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Season | Team | Country | League & Finish | Cups | Continental --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2014/15 | Juventus | Italy | Serie A - 1st | Supercoppa - Winners | Champions League - Finalists TIM Cup - Winners 2015/16 | Juventus | Italy | Serie A - 1st | Supercoppa - Winners | Champions League - Winners TIM Cup - Winners 2016/17 | Barcelona | Spain | La Liga - 1st | Copa Del Rey - Winners | Champions League - Winners 2017/18 | Chelsea | England | Premier League - 1st | League Cup - Winners | Champions League - Winners FA Cup - Winners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Natedog17
Chelsea F.C 2014/15 I started a new game with my beloved Chelsea F.C. In our first season we did pretty well and won the Premier League and Capitol One Cup. Unfortunately we were poor in the FA cup and went out in the fourth round. We were playing great football in the Champs League and were in the quarter finals, against Shakhtar, and there Brazilian gems. We went away on the first leg and we beat them 3-0. I was feeling confident, as you would, at home but then... I didn't bank on Dave getting sent off. They score 3 goals over the 90 minutes... we go into extra time 3 a piece. We hold out to penalties... we are 4 all and Ramires misses a penalty. We lose 5-4 on pens. Gutted. Next time. So in this game I wanted to take a sort of money ball approach. Base my decisions on rating, stats and price. Especially stats and ratings. So signings were made based on that. I made no changes until January and then I let go of: Ivanovic-5.25 mill-Atletico Madrid- Fell out with me because he wasn't starting matches. Even though he was playing a lot of football off the bench and in cup games. Drogba-475k-CSKA Moscow- Wasn't getting any games and wasn't happy about it Players I brought In at January or after: Veton Berisha-1.5 mill-Viking Lucas Romero-9 mill-Velez Mario-8 mill-Villarreal Gino Peruzzi-3.8 mill-Boca Since I am playing a money ball save I need to have players that can replace players leaving. I know Dave will get a big bid at some point so Mario was scouted to replace him. He has all the attributes in the right place and an average rating of 7.18 in a top league with 6 assists. The scout found very few negatives bar he is weak in the air. However is will fit in well with the lads. He also has great resale value. Berisha, Romero, Peruzzi have loads of potential, can play as back up, can be loaned and have great resale value while having great average ratings and other great stats and attributes. 2014/15 Chelsea Team Gk-Courtois/Cech/Beeney DL-Dave/Luiz DC-Terry/Cahill DC-Zouma/Christensen DR-Mario/Ivanovic/Dave MCL-Matic/Ramires MCR-Ramires/Matic and if I played roaming playmaker-Cesc/Musonda AML-Hazard/Willian/Boga/Musonda AMC-Oscar/Willian/Hazard/Musonda AMR-Cuadrado/Willian/Boga ST-Costa/Remy/Solanke/Brown The chosen few: In this save I really wanted to develop and use youngsters. This would fit in very well with the moneyball approach. Since what is cheaper than buying players... developing them. I chose: Christensen, Baker, Musonda, Boga, Solanke, Brown Star Performers: Courtois: Games: 41 Conceded:28 Clean Sheets:22 Av R: 7.12 All the defence: Terry,Zouma,Cahill and Christensen all averaged over 7.00 Hazard: Games:53(1) Goals:39 Assists:17 Av R:7.90 Cuardardo: Games: 43(1) Goals:21 Assists:17 Av R: 7.61 Costa: Games: 38(5) Goals:22 Assists: 24 Av R: 7.40 I was really pleased with Boga and Christensen. Especially Boga who had a Av rating of 7.06 in 10 (23) games getting 7 assists and 8 goals. They put in some very solid performances. I am actually really pleased with the improvements off all the youngsters bar one... Baker. He just hasn't improved as much as I would have liked. I am going to give him one more season to prove himself. So not a bad season but looking forward to next season.
stevemc
I've got Brown now (2018/19), in my squad, also got Chalobah too, both good players. Boga's price seems to go high so well worth developing him.

efilsgod
Two seasons in I have won the treble in my first season (PL, CC and FA Cups) and the league in my second season. I had bad luck in europe, winning my group but drawing Real and going out the first year, then going out to MU and the over-talented Falcao in the Quarters of the second season. In the close season I had bids accepted for both Pogba and Koke, but neither player was even interested in discussing terms, tating that a club of the stature of Chelsea was not big enough to match their ambitions. I found that a bit odd. Anyone else had similar things happening? Is it because of my lack of succes in europe in the two seasons? (it is FMC by the way...)
efilsgod
To answer my own question, I won the CL + League in season 3, and Pogba was STILL not interested. Only after winning CL + EPL + FA cup + WCC in season 4 did he even want to discuss terms with me. He asked for 333K/w (!!) but thankfully I managed to talk him down to a round 300K He's 25 now so I should have a good 5 years of him in his prime! Natedog17
Drogba is such a legend. Whenever I can, I try and bring him back to the club in some way or form. Usually as youth coach. I still cant get over the fact that Ramires passing is so pants. It is definitely better than 9 ffs... I have never used the editor folder but I may just have to on this occasion. I mean stats do not lie. 83.3% passing average over 5 seasons. His passing should be at least 13. It doesnt have to be world class like Busquets but Id say in par with Luis Gustavo for example. Thats my rant over. Returned to my Money Ball save with Chelsea at 2018 and while I am have an amazing season this guy just helped Burnely get promoted as Captain, along with one of my ex chelsea players Manu Trigeros! This is why I love this game.
