SI Staff Blue Lou Posted June 2, 2014 SI Staff Share Posted June 2, 2014 Iran will be using the World Cup to raise awareness of endangered animals. They've made a "Bio Ball", a regular ball with 32 panels and on each panel an endangered animal from that nation is displayed. http://www.wildlife.ir/en/2014/05/30/bio-ball-unveiled/ They've also put the Asiatic Cheetah on their own World Cup shirt

noikeee
Nope(eee) but it is meant to be something on a local accent over here (inside joke nobody will get and doesn't deserve explaining). Close enough.

Orzelek
Nice touch and cool idea But my first thought was seriously, that a campiagn for human rights is more necessary in the case of Iran...
Andrew!
Nice touch and cool idea But my first thought was seriously, that a campiagn for human rights is more necessary in the case of Iran... A football team from a non-democracy run by religious zealots is the perfect platform for a human rights campaign

DJ
They can eff off with this hypocritical nonsense. Scoring cheap points over an absolute non-issue as far as Iran is concerned. Playing at animal rights activists in a country where people are stoned to death or hanged and/or tortured in prison for things like having the audacity to be raped. Not a single sympathy point from me.
