We're 4 games to go and 1 point guarentees European football next season ... What a start to life in the Russian Premier!!

EDIT: Beat Anzhi 2-1 and we're in the Euro Cup next year, from the 2nd Qualifying round but still. Oh and the board finally offer me a new contract, 2 years for once whooo!

EDIT 2: Just hit our full stadium capacity for the first time ever 12,500!

EDIT 3: Think i'll bring in some youngsters last 2 games of season, can't catch 4th place and can't lose 5th so might as well.

Pre season update

Finance

- The clubs money worries have been eased slightly with 1.8m TV deal bringing the club back into the black.

- New parent club Valencia providing 75k per season

- Hercules paying 30k for us to play a friendly as well as 4 pre season home ties against Liga BBVA teams bringing extra cash with gates over 8000.

- season ticket sales 1600 double last season

- the sale of Anthony Kirov smashing our record for player sales at a staggering £2500

Wheeling and dealing

With a 30k wage budget and 10k to spend on player free transfers were again the order of the day.

- Astonished Spanish football with the signing of former Chelsea left back Aseir Del Horno from Valencia on a free. The 31 year old twice capped Spaniard having been transferred for a total of £16.5m throughout his career.

- Aldo Dusher the Argentinean hard man getting on at 33 (boy is he one ugly ****er) but his experience playing the water carrier role as we look to shut up shop this season will be vital.

- Cristiano 31 year old Brazilian joins from Maltese club Tarksien R for £7,000 our new record buy. years of experience in Dutch eredivisie will be vital as he plays the lone front man role this season.

Not been able to bring in much else and still have used only 58% of wage budget but cant attract the quality players L

Start of season

After 2 defeats (2-1 and 3-1) and 2 0-0 draws over to BBVA opposition we lined up to face Celta Vigo in out first match. A poor crown of just over 1800 saw Merida take the game to vigo with 6 chances to the visitors 1. No real chances were created until the 44 minute, new signing Cristiano smashing the ball of the post from 8 yards out. Onto the second half with Vigo coming into the game it looked like there experience may tell. A free kick from vigo MF Obinou whistle over the bar in the 57 minute. In the 66 minute Merida made a rare venture into the vigo half mulenga made a lung bursting run down the left wing his cross met by out stretched boot of Cristiano leaving the keeper flapping.1-0 the new man a hero already. With 24 minutes left manager Ryan Wright took of one midfielder putting on a fifth defender and this limited vigo to only set piece chances as the final score was UD Merida 1 Celta Vigo 0.

A stunning start but the hard work begins now…..

A fourth tactical change of the season reaped its rewards as I used the tactics creator for the first time. Big man, little man combo with inside forwards either side. We beat Kaiserslautern 4-2...4-0 up before poor goalkeeping cost us the clean sheet...I am now looking to bring in a new keeper in the summer. My first choice target Areola has just gone to Milan for 12.5m...

Albion Rovers 2021/2022

1st in Clydesdale Bank Premier League (pred: 2nd) | Transfers | Finances | Graph

The League

Complete domination this season. Celtic has fallen off as well.

The Scottish Cup (fixtures) - Winner!

The League Cup (fixtures) - Winner!

The European Adventure (fixtures | group e)

Great performance. What I don't understand is how we ended up 1st in front of Inter though, as they had a better goal difference than us. Anyways, unlucky not to knock Werder Bremen out in my opinion. Missed a penalty to.

Highlights: Inter 2-0 | Man City 4-1

The Players (Squad Ratings)

Just 5 new players this season.

Leandro Noce (DMC) - Secured him before the end of last season as his contract ran out. Very happy with him.

Scott Loach (GK) - Backup goalie. Unhappy at being just that.

Javier Perez (SC) - Amazing 1st season. I love playing 3 strikers.

Alan Franklin (DC/DMC) - Replaced Galimberti in amazing fashion.

Nenad Antolovic (DR) - Promising.

My Player of the Season: Rodrigo (But all 3 main strikers and the 2 central defenders were really good)

We had 6 players in Team of the Year and won every award in Scotland (except the goal of the year).

The Finances

Made £3.3M, but considering we made £16.5M from player sales it's horrible. We'd be £13M into red without it. Scary.

The Scottish Teams in Europe

Celtic reached 1st KO Rnd of EC. No one else reached any group stages. I'm happy Rangers are back into European spots.

The Future

Finances look really scary. Considering selling some high earners and develop younger players with less wage demands. Or I could just keep doing what I'm doing. Sell a few for good money, bring in new free-transfers, and hope that we keep doing good enough in Europe to make some money.

Great season Ohanzee Rodrigo looks a class act and at just 22...is he wanted by anyone yet?

Just had a international break in my game and a something to point out...my CM Everton Jacobs just played his 65th game for Jamaica at the age of 21! just a crazy stat...considering he has a good 15 years left in the game he could reach 300 games for Jamaica at his current rate!

Yea there's some interest. Palermo, Villarreal, Udinese. Teams like that. I slapped a £20M asking price tag on him, so no one has actually bid on him. He's one of few that actually signed a new contract while being at the club as well, so I'm not really to keen on selling. Might have no choice though if someone actually make a bid.

Yea, that'd be great. Right now it looks like we're not gonna improve at all though. Board gave me a wage budget £50k below what we're currently spending, so I can't attract anyone. Which is a problem since I have just one left-back, and he's been unhappy for a year feeling alienated by me.

Right, a brief mid-season update. Badji Sacko (see above) has just signed after tuning 18. He joins a team which with 21 games gone (half the season) sits in 6th place just inside the playoff places. It's pretty tight at the top, I'm only six points off 1st, but six points in the other direction takes me down to 13th, as I said, tight - exciting though.

Darfo Boario: Quick Preseason Update

Well in May I managed to make a few signings in an attempt to strengthen my squad, along with the new Youth project and then more signings in July I have actually managed to make a fairly strong squad. Pretty happy and think following an unbeaten preseason (4 wins, 1 draw) including a 1:1 result against Cagliari (Serie A Parent Club) we can give the title a good run this season.

May Signings

22.05 - Salif Dianda (MR)

27.05 - Roberto Previtali (MC)

27.05 - Jakub Vojtus (ST)

27.05 - Filippo Carobbio (MC)

So there I managed to strengthen the central midfield following the retirement of Longo & sale of D'Antoni, Toukam slides back to the bench and will hope to get some game time from there. Vojtus is likely to start up front alongside Cerri while Dianda will replace Bau on the right hand wing.

June/July Signings

12.06 - Alberto Galuppo (DC)

01.07 - Fabio Lauria (MR)

01.07 - Raffaele Vallefuoco (ML)

01.07 - Gianluca Ibba (DL)

01.07 - Alan Pereira Emperur (DL)

Ibba & Lauria were already prepared signings for my club before I found better players in their positions, but will provide excellent back-up and injury cover. Galuppo will provide the extra link in the defense following the loss of Guidi, Ponti and Magli from the defense over summer. Vallefuoco & Emperur provide an excellent left hand side and should help D'Eugenio grow into a better player as well.

This leaves my starting XI as follows:

GK: Mehmedi

DR: Cimmino

DC: N'Siabamfumu

DC: Galuppo

DL: Emperur

MR: Dianda

MC: Carobbio

MC: Previtali

ML: Vallefuoco

ST: Cerri

ST: Vojtus

Subs: Cancello (Y), Massieri, Turner (Y), Toukam, Borgese, D'Eugenio (Y), Dieme

I save the game now having just qualified for the Champions League next season and sealing at least 2nd place with four games to go. We are now 6 points behind Leverkusen who don't look like losing. Miracles do happen...will this one?

I won't be playing the game again until Wednesday as I have 17 hours of work tomorrow and won't be home til 12 at the latest then have to be up for work again at 6am until 2. so this season will not be finished until mid afternoon weds...good luck all for the next few days.

Season review 2016/17 - Wuppertaler SV Borussia

League - 2nd

The 2nd place finish was a fantastic result for us considering that we were only fancied to finish 9th. I'm more than happy with the place as we improved on last season's 3rd place and have Champions Cup football again next season. I think however the surprise of the season is FC Bayern's finish of 5th

German Cup - 2nd rd exit

2nd rd away @ Leverkusen

So the European adventure ended after the group stage. I think that the group was better than expected with us actually getting 4 points in what was a very difficult group. Hopefully next year we can qualify and maybe go one better.

Transfers

Not a lot of movement on the transfer front really. However I terminated Leoni's contract after he missed training twice as he wan't happy with being dropped. I also got This vote of confidence from the fans over this.

Finances

Once again the finances have been propped up by prize money and also Champions Cup TV Revenue.

Key Players

Michele Rigione. Another good year for Rigione. He's the vice captain and always plays well in the middle of the defence.

Borja. Another good year for the young spaniard wherever heplayed. either on the right or in central defence.

Ernesto Theiler. Once again Theiler played well down the right of midfield.

Andrea Romano. Romano was an ever present player in the midfield and played well there again.

Paul Pogba. The ex Man Utd player played well when he was in the side. He missed parts of the year through injury.

Yakubu. Once again the Nigerian hitman played well up front. He didn't show any signs of his age at all.

Jermaine Defoe. Not as many goals for defoe this season but he played well even if he wasn't scoring.

One's for the future

meet the only one I have

Jake Carrington

other news

I was offered the Cote D'Ivoire job in mid february but turned it down. I also had the training facilities upgraded and the board are buying the stadium outright so we'll be able to upgrade and expand it.

Well I'm out of the Champions Cup again. 3rd place in the group behind Inter and Porto. In front of Luzern who got 0 points (thanks for the help Switzerland).

Getting a bit tired of the crappy way we're losing and drawing these games now. :thdn:

Porto (H) 2-2 - 5-3 clear cut chances in our favor

Inter (A) 1-1 - 4-1 clear cut chances in our favor

Inter (H) 3-3 - 5-1 clear cut chances in our favor

Porto (A) 1-3 - 5-1 clear cut chances in our favor

In other words, it would be perfectly fair if we had won every one of these 4 games. I'd actually say it would be realistic if we had won at least 2 of them. Instead we don't win a single one, and just to rub it in we lose 3-1 when we create 5 times as many clear chances as Porto. If I had been watching these games in 3D my computer would have been out the window by now. No fun any more. :(

Adding to frustration Celtic have a 13-2-0 record in the league so far this season. At least we'll have a spot in the EURO Cup KO rounds. But I guess we'll need about 50 clear cut chances to get any further... :thdn:

..edit..

Last 7 games we have conceded 17 goals. The opposition have had 6 clear cut chances in those games in total (17 goals in 6 ccc's). Time to hit the sack. Had enough. :(

Good season there Almondo.

Unlucky Ohanzee with the Champions League, don't lose hope i have complete faith in you.

EDIT: The draw for the Euro Cup 3rd Qualifying Rd is in and FC Chita will play Korona Kielce (Poland). (Home first).

EDIT 2: 0-0 draw at Lokomotiv. I feel sorry for the Kielce fans that travelled 3,732 Miles!

Keep going Ohanzee, patience is the key. The Champions League is going to be a challenge from Scotland, but that just means it'll be even more satisfying when you win it. And I have total faith that you will.

[edit] - [RANT] AAARGH! I've let two two-goal leads slip in the last two games (I'm sorry, I know that's a lot of 'two's) it's really frustrating. I should be sitting here with 6 points, instead I have 2 from those games. What makes it even more frustrating? 4 points dropped, I'm currently 3 points off the playoffs! I need to hold onto leads if I want to get promoted. Infuriating. [/RANT]

Lost 3-2 in the 2nd leg ... Didn't help that the idiot ref sent my player off for jumping with their GK in the 5th minute and then later when one of their forwards apparently kicked my GK in the face (injuring him may i add) the ball trickled over the line and goal given. Report at the end said the ref seemed biased towards the hosts ... Damn right he was. Oh well 2 goals for Tupazinho star of the show.

Ouch unlucky on the loss there Brettney. I usually end up raging about the refs more than anything and I'm sure the neighbours wonder what the hell is going on.

I shouted at the screen way more than a rational and sane person should, especially when we gave away a silly penalty .. Grrr! We must of learned from it because its going very well in the league now, unbeaten in last 4 just beat Spartak Moscow for the first time ever .. 5th and 3 points behind our friends Spartak!

SnakeXe's Messina - Season 8 - 2018/19

Story of the Season:

Serie B - 2nd, Promoted

With a squad even better than that which was relegated from Serie A last year, I had high hopes of bouncing back in style. As it turned out, it was a little harder than that. Since we were now one of the favourites to be promoted, predicted 4th this time, rather than 19th last time we were in the division, teams set out much more defensively against us. This led to a lot of games where we'd either be unable to break the opposition down, or they'd sneak a lead and hang onto it for dear life.

This shows up on the league table - the shear number of draws we had is astounding. I don't think we were outplayed in one single game this season, even against title-winning Vicenza, but we were just rubbish at putting games to bed. Still, we're up again, with 2 games to spare, and in much better condition to stay up than we were before. Whether we're better enough - I guess we'll find out.

Coppa Italia - 3rd Qualifying Round

Stuffed a C1 side, played my reserves against Serie B Triestina in the next round and lost on penalties.

Results 1 - Results 2 - Results 3 - Squad

Transfers - £3.4m Loss

Was surprisingly actually given more cash to splash than we were given in Serie A, and I took advantage, bringing in two players who would finish the season in the Italy Under 21 squad - Victor Amoruso and Filippo Vitone. The free transfers weren't too shabby either. Shipped out a lot of dead wood to reduce the wage bill as well.

5 Most Important Players:

5. Pietro Belfiore - ST - Scored some crucial goals from the bench and when Petrillo was out, a real luxury to have a backup player of his calibre.

4. Filippo Vitone - AMRC - Fantastic prospect signed from Roma - shame he keeps getting his morale shot down due to being targeted in the press.

3. Bruno Fernandez - DC - Found his feet after a shaky season in Serie A, hopefully the experience will stand him in good stead.

2. Abel Petrillo - ST - Top goalscorer for the second year running, as well as scoring the

. Cracking player.

1. Fausto Rossi - AML - Despite some injuries, Rossi was truly unplayable at times this season. May be worth another crack in Serie A afterall.

Next Season:

I would rip your hand off if you offered me 17th place right now. We're in considerably better shape than we were last time we came up, so hopefully we'll make a better fist of it this time. Some good signings at the back and in midfield and we may have a shot.

Forza Messina!

Cheers guys. I know the game isn't really out to get me. It's just so frustrating when this thing happens so many games in a row, and of course in all the important ones.

Good season Almondo. I think you'll get your hands on that league trophy soon. Nice to see Yakubu and Defoe still going strong at that age to.

That's unlucky brettney1980. Realism is nice, but sometimes it can be to much with these refereeing decisions. This is a game after all. Good to see the league going well though.

I have faith you can turn it around PRDH!

Great to see you promoted again right away SnakeXe. Now I expect you to stay up! Actually I never use that team-talk. You can do it! Looks like you have some very promising players to build around there to. Good luck!

My season is done to. So I'll try to get something up soon.

Albion Rovers 2022/2023

1st in Clydesdale Bank Premier League (pred: 1st) | Transfers | Finances | Graph

The League

Closer than last year, but still fairly dominant. For the first time ever we were predicted to finish 1st, which is a nice sign of our reputation growing I guess.

The Scottish Cup (fixtures) - Winner!

The League Cup (fixtures) - Winner!

The European Adventure (ecc fixtures | group b | ec fixtures)

Already moaned about it, so I won't. Although I'll say it would actually be nice to get a group with 3 decent teams instead of 2 good ones and 1 horrible one. Cause the 1 horrible one might as well not be in the group at all. Unlucky against Monaco away I think. At home it was ok, but not enough.

The Players (squad ratings)

Summer wasn't to busy as I didn't have much room to spend. Lost 1 important player in Hector Seminario (DR). 3 players joined.

Francesco Turchi (SC) - Decent striker, might sell him again just to make some money. I have enough strikers anyways.

Jose David Gallardo (DL) - First time ever I've payed money to loan someone I think, but I really needed a leftback. He did good, but will be going back to Sevilla soon.

Javier (DR) - New rightback since Seminario left us. Good first season for him.

In January I tried offering out Ian Chambers, cause his contract had gone up to £46k/week from clausuls. I can't afford to have anyone that high. Been trying to offer him out since the summer, and finally a big club bit. Liverpool took him in, and freed up some wages for me to bring in more players on free.

Stuard Ward (SC) - Released by Man City in the summer, but still available. Looks very promising and only on 1/3 of Chambers' wages.

Paul Routledge (SC) - Released by Arsenal. I think I know why, as he's got 2 red cards already.

Ondrej Krob (AMR) - My first real youngster I guess. Think he's the youngest player I've signed. Doesn't fit my current formation, but if he turns out amazing in a couple of years I'll happily change things around.

I also signed a couple of players on free just as the season was coming to an end. Turns out you can sign free transfers and use them right away, even in May. I had no idea.

Arnaud Irigoyen (DL) - Really happy to catch this guy. Won't have to loan a leftback next season.

Miguel Feliciano (DMC/MC) - He actually was on loan at Rangers in 2015/16 and played 33 league matches. Wasn't amazing for them, but he's 8 years older now, and I think he'll be very useful.

Our young Dutch midfielders Alex Beijer and Anne Visser are improving as well. Hopefully we can keep hold of them and add some more like them. They will be "homegrown" this summer.

My favorite players this season : Diego Jimenez | Rodrigo | Steve bath

The Finances

Same as last year. If not for player sales we'd be about £9M into red.

The Scottish Teams in Europe

Hearts won a couple of matches in the EC group stages, but didn't reach the KO stages. Celtic and Rangers did reach the 1st KO stage just like us, but was beaten by Shakhtar. And St. Mirren was beaten by a Swedish team in the qualifiers.

The Future

I don't feel like we've grown at all the last 2-3 years now. Finances are stuck, so no upgrades to facilities or anything. I've tried asking, but it's always "we don't have the funds". Not sure what to do. It's not like I can get £40M for any of my players either. Highest valued atm is Diego Jimenez at £8M, and there is no interest in him so far.

Might have to sell some players whos contract will be running out next summer as well. Mainly our goalkeeper through 4 seasons Martins, which will be hard to replace.

Thanks chaps :)

Another excellent season there Ohanzee! Shame it looks like it'll be difficult to progress any further. IRL this would be where you'd say to yourself "I've taken this club as far as I can, time for a new job", but obviously that isn't an option with regards to completing the challenge.

Yea, it looks like we're a bit stuck. But I just signed a new 4 year contract, so I'm not going anywhere. I sort of wish I had taken things a bit more slow now though. Kept the wages far below the budget and just made sure we could afford upgrades to facilities and stadium instead. But I'll keep at it. Think this will be my longest save ever now. 13th season starting.

- The Premier League is stuck in 12th place of European competitions, just behind the French Cup, but at least there's just 9 leagues in front of it right now.

- Albion Rovers is #22 in the European Clubs coefficients list, so that's really nice. Maybe we'll be 2nd seeded in the group stage draw this year.

Well my board have just sold Diego Jimenez to Real Madrid for £16.25M. Probably our best striker, but to be honest I would have accepted that offer myself as well. Almost lost Rodrigo to Sevilla to, but it was canceled in the last minutes as Sevilla could not sign any more non-EU players. That I'm happy about. Wouldn't wanna lose him as well right now.

Anyways, this will make the summer a bit more exciting at least. But that'll have to wait until late tonight (or tomorrow).

Good luck all!

Been a few days but into the Europa League group stages earning myself a cool million in the process!

After winning 1-0 at Gayfield Park we went away to Montepellier.

They dominated and it showed when they went 1-0 up after 26 mins. Heroic defending sees it out until 90 mins are over. It goes to extra time and I get a 'controversial' penalty and score. 2-1 Then the equalise in 105+3. The 2nd half of extra time gives us nothing and I go through on away goals!

Away goals shafted me against Man Utd with Darmstadt last year but this year it is my friend! :)

Perugia 2012/2013 End of season Update

League

Transfers

We kept the spine of the team together and added some real quality (relatively) to the squad. I settled on some tactics and away we went, building slowly then dominating for three months after Christmas.

I really believe that we can make a push for promotion next season.

Well done Yababo

Just drew 0-0 with Spurs in the group.

Tel Aviv

Panathinaikos

Abroath

Spurs

That's the groups after 1 game. Both games ended in a draw! Meant to be a tough group but looking at the others it isn't too bad.

Top of the league after 4. Only team unbeaten as I beat Celtic 2-1 at home :)
