(Btw I already asked in the editors forum, but either do here better. As this TacGraber was originally created for FM06, there are missing some instructions like Def units closing down do differ from the attacking unit, one player always has mentality on 20, assigned free roles, marking system, target man (i have loaded a 06 tactic yesterday and bayern actually had one), offside, counter-attack, hold up ball, cross from and use playmaker. If someone could add this stuff into TacGraber, it would be perfect and we had a 1-1 copy of the AI's tactics.)

I've posted my final post in the old thread as Barnsley has said he will post some tactics up here soon. We'll then crack on with coming up with a set based on the most sucessful teams and their approaches.

I think we can use TT&F to apply the missing pieces, marking etc and see how we go from there. TT&F is a great document, and it would be good to combine with how the AI managers (who are all better than us at the start if we're honest !!) produce football.

I have not got the time to spend on the game I once had so it will be interesting to see what people come up with. It might even do away with some of the tactics sets and get it down to an away and home tactics. I will carry on with the England tactics on my Barnsley save and post up any issues and progress.

From my testing results, I would say that Man City and Newcastle may have the best AI tactics, as the likes of Arsenal and MU can win with player quality rather than tactics.

Did you test them on the tottenham season saves you generally do? If so, how much points did they reach? Did the get over the 100 points mark?

If you download my earlier 442 tactics you can see that that tactic was built up from an "AI" type team instruction tactic. In general these team type tactics are in the 90 - 95pts range (Chelsea FM09, Spurs FM08) in FM08 the range was 80-90pts, so now the arrows have gone they are very good tactics.

I've only so far looked at the AI Arsenal tactic, but it may be useful to look at Man City and Newcastle as often drop points in these games.

A match I played to grab AS Roma's tactics with Luis Arragones Fenerbahce tactic. Even though they let play their reserves, I never saw a match before with nothing less than 45 shots and 15 CCC's..

Any chance of uploading that tactic, Code?

I have downloaded it, load up a match (Arsenal v Man Utd), save it, but all it comes up with is 'the file could not be imported'.

I've uploaded a new set with new tactics from AS Rom, Atletico Madrid, CD Osasuna, Fenerbahce and Villarreal. Any requests on a tactic and I will try to follow that. Next in my mind is Wanderlei Luxemburgo's brazilian SE Palmeiras system.

How do you save a tactic, using Tacgraber?? I keep getting a "Stream Error Read" when trying to save a tactic.

Make sure you don't type a filename for the tactic that is too long. Just type max 5 characters, you can still rename after you saved it.

How is anyone getting results with these tactics? I tried, hollands, utds, arsenals, chelseas and im having the odd chance whereas the AI are getting 10+ and ripping me up! Also, where has everyone got City's Newcastles and Pompeys tactics from, I don't see them at the top?

Hope someone is able to update this tool to fit FM 2009. It would be very interesting to see how AI design their tactics...

Is there milage in searching through the players during a season and choosing the player with the best rating and analyising how their AI manger plays them to build a super tactic?

e.g. look at the top 5 (by rating and apps) CB isolating the common instructions to see what makes them good, then do the same for FB, DM etc etc and corralate the results

That's a very good idea peter and I'm doing it right now. My results so far is that Arsenal's Arsenè Wenger have good GK settings(surprisingly), Bayern's Klinsmann good DR/DL settings, Florenz's Hristo Stoichkov best DC settings, Bayer leverkusen's Bruno Labbadia dm settings, Barca's Josep Guardiola winger settings, Milan's Ancelotti AMC settings, and Valencia's Quique Flores ST settings.

It uses the template from Luis Arragones' Fenerbahce, the GK settings of Arsenal, DC settings from Florenz, Fullback settings of Bayern Munich, DM settings of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Winger settings from Barca, AMC settings from Milan, ST settings from Valencia.

Used it in my man u game code against juventus 2min gone 1 0 down came back to lead 2 1 but final score 3 2 juve looks great going forward roney actually getin a rating of 8.2. defence not lookin good . I belive you can get this workin great code cmon

Here's v2 mate, tweaked the tempo settings to the tactics of valencia who has the best strikers rating, width of real madrid settings with the best mr/ml settings (the barca ones didn't work, as they are AML and AMR, real uses MR and ML), timewasting and def line to the settings of the best dc tactic

You can also assign 2-3 free roles to players you know their stat for free roles is +15.

Maybe I'm wrong, but "defence not looking good" experienced by 9inarowhoops might be because of GK and DC CF. 19-20 seems like a terrible overkill.

I thought that too, but in my game arsenal's Yohan Pele had the best GK rating and the most games without conceeding.

right then first game against blackburn won 2-1 although i came from behind and ahd a man sent off i don't really have the players for it though i've been playing a 442 so i bought central mid rather than attacking mid do you have a 442 version you could recomomend i'll do some test for you if you like just sent me the tactic in pm thanks in advance

In my game i noticed sunderland are getting some tidy results including beating wigan 6-1 away and when i play the i always struggle so i decided to steal there tactic and tweaked it and its working amazin also tried with arsenal with no joy

so what i have seen is that if your a mid table team there is no point in stealing arsenals tactic because it will just not work for you i think its better to take tactics from a team at about your same level of play if you see what im getting at. Also i think if the manager is good the the tactic could be worth stealing becasue fulham have had Mancini for about the last 5 seasons on my save and he has dragged them into a top 4 finish every season i might give there tactic a shout.

OK just tried this as my next game was Barcelona away, which is probably my toughest league fixture of the season:

I know its only 1 game but this was away against my main title rivals (so a good 1 game test) and my biggest ever win against them home or away. I'll do a season with this and report back.

i just played hull city away but i've changed the midfield instead of having 1 defence mid and one att mid i've got 2 central mids now i haven't change ant settings just the formation i beat hull 2-0 with all my players getting rating in the 7's i had 14 shot with 6 on goal and 2 CCC's they had 1 shot off target i think blackburn would be a good tactic cos they are great on my save at the moment in 4th position don't know how to do there tactics though

ok i've just played my 3rd game using the V2 and to be honest it won't a very convincing win over pompy. i had 9 shots 2 on target scored them both also had 2 CCC's. pompy had 5 shots 1 on target scored from that 1. 2-1 to me a win is a win though i'm finding the left midfiels slot is great i've got martin petrov there and he's scored 3 times since changing to this

just downloaded the tactic set and tried barca only cos that formation suits my players played newcastle away hammered em 4-1 great start

Nice it already works for you guys, I'm working on a v3 at the moment to improve it further more and make it a 4-4-2 with box midfielders.
