liamc
Okay, please help me settle a dispute. FM2012...you are Everton. 1st season - What's the bigger achievement finishing 2nd and qualifying for the Champs League or winning the FA Cupand finishing 8th? johnhughthom
Honestly, I would say FA Cup.
Turneep
In real life, 2nd. In FM id say winning FA Cup.
stevvy
Not sure really, I think I'd be tempted to say 2nd and qualifying for the Champions League, given the team they have, the money issues, etc.
Nobby_McDonald
Depends if you get far in the Champions League...
karax268
finishing 2nd
MoldeFK15
Is that you Arsene??
rich10
38 league games vs 6 FA Cup games... The table never lies, but Millwall can get to the FA Cup final with a kind draw.
Technique
Is that you Arsene?? Can't be, he said finishing 2nd. To be honest, I'd say finishing 2nd in the league and gaining automatic qualification to the Champions League is better.
dafuge
Based on the fact that Pompey managed an FA Cup win with an 8th placed finish in 2008, I'd have to go for the other one.
Administrators Neil Brock Posted October 27, 2011 Administrators Share Posted October 27, 2011 Always go for the FA Cup. (As a football chairman I'd definitely say Champs League mind...)
liamc
I got the Champs League and my brother got the FA CUP. I was adamant my achievement was better. I'm at christmas in the 2nd season and 3rd in the league, in the semis of the league cup and scrapped out of my Champs league group to get Marseille in the 1st knockout round. In my brothers 2nd season he is pretty much at the same stage and top of the league! So it's very close and competitive at the minute!!
Things Could Get Messi
champions league is obviously much better. more money for a higher league finish, extra money in champions league for playing, tv rights and winning matches. higher rep players will want to join you and you get a lot more to spend. The Welsh Lad
It all depends how you look at it. Winning a cup will help boost your club Reputation more than just playing in the Champions League in my opinion (FM based not irl), whilst automatic qualification to the champions league will guarantee you more money depending on performance. FootballManager
I would of personally taken the FA Cup and the 8th spot. Europa League qualification and another season to build your squad for a better squad to enter the Champions League. Just for the record, do you get much to spend as Everton manager?
