1st February 2009 Boston United update available:

http://www.footymanager.info/bufcupdates.html

BUFC

Boston United sit at the top of the Blue Square Premier, 14 points clear and with a game in hand. They have lost just a solitary league game, and are 24 games unbeaten. But, arguably a bigger success story is their FA Cup run. They are awaiting a 5th Round date at Nottingham Forest, having won at Newcastle in Round 4 and beating Portsmouth at York Street in the 3rd Round to knock out 2 Premiership sides. They are also into the Setanta Shield 5th Round. They signed 4 players in January, costing £75,000. None of them stands out as great prospects, but they add depth to the squad. The Under 18s are walking their league, 13 points clear. The regular keeper is now a Scottish U21 international, with normal left winger now with 2 Irish caps.

Premier League

Manchester United are clear of Liverpool at the top by 3 points, but the Scousers have 2 games in hand. Hull are bottom, with only 2 victories. The other places are anyones as 6 points separate 10 teams up to 10th place.

Internationals

England enjoyed a perfect start to the World Cup Qualifiers, beating Norway, Macedonia and Northern Ireland all 3-0, sitting top of the group. Friendlies were played against Spain (1-2) and Austria (3-0). Everton and West Ham have 5 current squad members.

http://www.footymanager.info/bufcupdates.html

BUFC

Boston United clinched the Blue Square Premier title, with 99 points ahead of York in 2nd, who went up via the play offs. However, manager Jodie Paveley was sacked in late February, and replaced by Clare Scully who didn't enjoy a great run, losing 7 of 13 games. The team lost their FA Cup 5th Round match at Forest. 2 players have agreed to leave the club - former captain Benn Hinchley, a striker, for £1,400,000 to Northampton and Rik Tarrant, a goalkeeper, to Aldershot for £325,000. Frketson is now Boston United captain. Irish winger Kristin Clarkeson now has 4 Irish caps.

Premier League

Liverpool are the new champions, after finishing ahead of Manchester United on goal difference, by +33 to +32. Hull, Man City and Derby were relegated. Birmingham, Crystal Palace and Blackburn will replace them.

Internationals

England beat Armenia, but then lost in Serbia and are now 2nd in their WCQ group to Serbia. A 0-3 loss to Holland in a Wembley friendly wasn't great either... Aston Villa lead with 5 squad members.

The agreed transfers went through, and they also sold another player to Northampton for £70,000. 4 players were promoted to the youth team, with 2 of them having 139 and 135 as PA (DC and GK). Frketson stayed with teh club, rejecting Wolves but isn't a regular up front anymore. The club broke their transfer record by paying £625,000 for a Serbian international AMLC with values of 102/148. The club's Scottish goalkeeper has made his international debut.
