[FM20] It was Cambrogi in Wales, but now it's all about aggression in Wales, in England. Bellicosity, pugnacity and belligerence are all excellent words. But Welsh belligerence, in England now.

I'd also argue that you now need the other Welsh Prem sides to do their bit, as well as the main National Team.  If these guys are also succeeding it will make your work far easier.

This is from my experience, going through this in previous years.

I think the other Welsh clubs are starting to do their bit.

TNS have over-performed hugely in Europe over the course of the save and we just need others to up it a little. Unfortunately these other clubs have not had anywhere near the level of investment as TNS.

Goal-scoring GK actually started for me in N.Ireland at Lisburn Distillery with a real life GK called Chris McIlmurray who turned into an outfield player in real life and then left the game completely after being capped for N.Ireland at U17 level. He played for Glenavon in real life and I obviously nabbed him when he was released.

I loved playing in N.Ireland and particularly likes the Cup Competitions where the Reserve Teams of big clubs played against the 1st Team of smaller clubs but still counted as competitive fixtures.

Actually it was Mosside I managed with McIlmurray. The Lisburn Distillery was a different save.

Domestic games. We're doing ok, but we are not quite hitting our stride at the moment, (despite the results). We're conceding too many goals and not scoring enough.

European games. It's actually quite hard to lose these games. I fielding the weakest teams I can, but still couldn't lose the home leg against Porto.

Goal-scoring keepers. What an awful period for Pavjot (CRO) in terms of scoring goals, (and not much better with assists). He missed 3 consecutive penalties this month, (2 were saved and a 3rd hit the post).

1771bf20779e817877e5e936d53eee58.png

Something that is no more than a fleeting thought at the moment is that in 2 of the 2 games where Pavjot (CRO) missed a penalty this month, (34b) Rhydian Hall (WAL) didn't play. This continues on from the point I made either in here or someone else's thread recently with regards to the body language of players being better when captains with certain personalities were on the pitch. Ignoring what (34b) Rhydian Hall (WAL)'s personality is for a moment, (it's Balanced), it stands to reason that Pavjot (CRO) should get some sort of boost when he is in the side based on what we see here. I will keep an eye on that.

Amazing, I wasn't aware that the Cup worked like that. I'm actually only playing a network game at the moment which is very enjoyable but obviously much harder to progress. I will seriously have a look at Northern Ireland now

Domestic games. You can see why the TNS manager has been sacked as they have lost 6 of 16 league games this season and sit in 5th. We are unbeaten and 11 points ahead already.

Domestic games. The loss against Barry was our 1st league defeat in 39 games. It's too easy to blame it on a teenage GK who conceded 2 goals and missed a penalty. Instead the blame is mine because I simply rotated the squad too much after we smashed them 5-0 in the previous game.

I think it's a blessing in disguise though. It appears as if the injury and the inability to play means that his concerns over, (I think he was thinking about moving to a bigger club), have vanished and will hopefully remain so once he is fit again.

134ddf84ed5d02a7659ee79fd0c09ac1.png

(43a) Cheedy (IRL) LOAN has come in and played the last 4 games but has under-performed a little, (as you would expect for a young GK I suppose). he has 1 goal and 2 assists in those games, but he also missed a penalty in the loss to Barry, and also conceded 2 goals which resulted in our 1st league loss for 39 games.

I know we have to win our games, but assuming we get to Semi-Final, (which is the furthest we have ever got), we will dodge the following teams.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Bournemouth from England.
Monaco from Toulouse from France.
Celtic, Fenerbahce & Roma.

I'm not sure the draw can have been much kinder.

Domestic games. Look, I know this looks bad, but the truth is all I really care about is the EURO Cup. We've already won the league and we weren't going unbeaten, so i selected the best available team with the proviso that I completely rested everyone except the GK if the next match was in Europe.

Semi-Final 2nd leg. May 2046

3d52a839917ee532e166a47bf9dd2dba.png

We're comfortably in our 1st ever European Final.

Of course I would have much preferred to face Bournemouth over Chelsea, but while Chelsea are certainly still a powerful force in England, Abramovic is long gone and they are now managed by AVB with Cech the Technical Director. (I still don't actually know what a technical Director does).

There are 3 weeks exactly between the 2nd leg of the Semi and the Final and we have 0 league games in between. It looks like we're going to be playing the Reserves a few times then.

The Final is being held at...... Villa Park.

EURO Cup Semi-Final. May 2046.

We had a 3 week gap between games, so I arranged some friendlies.

What can go wrong. It's just a bunch of friendlies......

Our top goal-scorer Pierie (NED) HG got injured and for the 1st time in this save and for the 1st time in about 10 real life years I opted to give a player a pain-killing injection.

I don't care if he's only got 1 leg. He's scored 39 goals in 33(3) appearances this season and he is starting!

Despite being allowed 12 subs, there is still no room for a GK on the bench.

Welsh clubs in Europe. Jun 2046.

While we got to the Final of the EURO Cup, (it was amazing for a club like ours to get there but I'm still gutted), let's see how the other Welsh clubs have got on in Europe.

Afan Lido. They lost all 3 of the ties this season, but I think they were pretty unlucky with regards to who they were drawn against. They were also competitive in all 3 games.

088e47396d281f1090577b185bdafdb8.png

TNS. What a phenomenal performance from TNS and this would explain their difficulties in the league. They got all the way to the Semi-Final where they lost narrowly to Besiktas. When I see their progress, I wonder if I should try and drop down into the Euro Conference myself and see if I can win it.

Llanelli Town. They performed hugely above expectations this season and this is the sort of performance that will see the League move even further up the rankings.

Airbus UK. This is their 1st season in Europe, so it's understandable that they didn't hit the ground running.

Pre-season games

Domestic games. We may have crashed out of the Nat MG Cup, but it's really not a big deal. In any case, Llanelli are developing into a real force and there is no shame in being held to a draw by them so early in the season, (although gutted to lose on penalties). I am really looking at an unbeaten league season this year, as it might be my last year here.

The pre-concern about looking to move to a bigger club is fair. I'm not sure how I get around that when I am manipulating the results, (or at least trying to), so that we qualify for the Knockout stages of the EURO Cup rather than the Champions League.

With regards to not getting enough coaching attention during GK training, I'm not really sure what that means. I thought initially it might mean that there were too many GK's in the senior squad, but there are just 4 of them and 1 of them is out on loan, so that doesn't make sense to me. Any suggestions?

What's the coach workload for GK coaches like? Could that be the thing?

I don't know actually. Will have a look.

I played about with setting my own training schedules a couple of seasons ago, (downloaded from someone I follow on Twitter), but it was counter-productive so I have reverted to my staff being in control.

I think this is the screen in question, (never more than glanced at it before now).

The GK Coach workload would seem to be light.

It's theoretically possible that there was only 1 GK Coach previously, but I doubt it. I honestly have no input to this area at all. I don't even look at it and only did so now because of the GK issue and interaction in here.
