Following Wolves’ financial crisis that saw the club enter into an administration battle, Danish legend Peter Schmeichel decided to buy out the remaining stake belonging to the club. After over a month of FA meetings and court discussions it was decided that the club will be allowed to participate in the Premier League the following season. Schmeichel shocked Wolves fans as he announced the descision to move the club location, change the name, board, staff and players completely.

The newly formed ‘Three Rivers FC’ are now based in Hertfordshire based around the district area Three Rivers. The club have a new 40,000 seater stadium with under-soil heating and have local rivalries with Luton Town and Watford as well as rivalries with London giants Chelsea and Arsenal.

Because of Schmeichels project to ’start the club from scratch’ the team now has no players available to use. Peter Schmeichel also wants a brand new manager, one that perhaps has not had much experience but he says he will give him the resources he needs to build up his own squad.

Football media and fans alike all seem very shocked but excited about this new concept from Peter Schmeichel who says he aims to make the Hertfordshire club one of the best in England.

Peter was also quick to get some sponsors using his Danish links. The club announced that the club’s main sponsor would be Carlsberg. He has also set up a number of affiliates that will benefit the club with Standard Liege, Cardiff City and Brøndby.

Peter also used his Danish links to help sort out the backroom staff with Martin Laursen joining as assistant manager and the Laudrup brothers coming in as directors.

so your in the premier league with no players and have £100m to buy an entire first team squad? is this even possible to get good enough players to stay in the league with this money. say you need 25 players in the squad thats only £4m a player.

nice idea though. looks good

Sounds funny
Nice one, I like the name Three Rivers FC
Excellent, I might start a save with the club.

Cheers :)

Definitely possible ;) and cheers

I think you're forgetting that there would be a couple of free transfers who could do the job, it's a great idea, I think

Yup, and cheers

Why Carlsberg logo is not presented on the shirt?

The kits were designed by someone else, I suppose I just added the Carlsberg bit into the storyline just for the sake of it... :p

Yesterday I've started this challenge with Three Rivers:

Activated following leagues:

England - 5 divisions

Russia - 3 divisions

Italy, Brasil, Belarus - 2 divisions

Poland, Nigeria - 1 division

Started staff signing. Failed to find good coach with english nationality, so my personnel will be very international.

Trying to make first signings of players. I will report tomorrow.

The season has been started, but I need to sign 2 forwards, left winger, left defender and third goalkeeper.

I am trying to construct 4-4-2 rigid diamond formation with short to mix passing.

The first match of the season was lost to Everton 0:1. Communication between players is very low yet: posession - 48%, passing - 67%, shots - 9(1).

To be continued...

for some reason the small logo doesn't work for me however it is not affecting my game. I am enjoying it immensely :)

I also got some xml parsing error whenever I load up since putting the folder in very strangely.

Small logo doesn't work for me either.

Is this the error message that you are getting as well?

"not well-formed (invalid token) at line 20 of config.xml

</list>

</record"

Oh, and I've been enjoying this file quite a bit.

Yes thats the error I recieved so I moved the small image into the normal folder and changed the normal images xml to include the small file :)!

Also I am finding it difficult to get anyone cheap at all, I decided to try and get alot of championship players but even the championship clubs want like 20m for their players :|

Does it count as cheating if you change your expectations for example and get 140m, if so very annoying.

Also have you done anything to make people cheaper because I had a 6m bid for Carlton Cole accepted and a 2.7m for Di Maria?

1. Nope, that's fine

2. Players are hard to get for me, which patch are you using?

Some really good signings there, spent your money wisely and you have a lot of young British players in your squad which is useful when it comes to later seasons. I also signed David Suazo and he did pretty good, hope he manages to do well for you ; )

I still need a couple more defenders, but I'll be nice and ask the board at Christmas for a little bit more. Played Man City first game and drew 2-2 (Suazo and Hangeland scoring), got Chelsea next..

As for the English players, Clyne has gone out on loan for 6 months, as I've got a French youngster to play backup for Srna, and Clyne is still a bit raw. Think Riquelme will do the job for me though.

There is one more fault: in synopsis - stadium has 40.000 seats, but in update file - 60.000.

And my overall impression - Three Rivers FC is à too big club. I think reputation, finances and facilities should be lower - it would be more interesting.

I can understand what you are saying about the reputation and facilities being lower.

However i will back the maker of this dtabase by putting the finances high. I havent downloaded yet but will when i get home after xmas, howevver from what ive read finances are high simply because their are no players. Id like to see someone build a premiership winning team with no existing set up for less than £100M. I rekon it would take a really good manager to even get a team with the ability to stay in the premiership with less than that with the current FM transfer system

I ended up lowering the wage budget and spent a total of 130 million.

wardog, my squad costed me 122,5 mln euro and made 16th place in premiership in the first season. And I must say that I am very very poor tactician in FM2010. Good specialist in tactics can reach euro qualification place, no doubt.

Moreover, Jovetic costed 22 mln euro was only 8th best player in my squad. It is not necessary to buy such expensive players.

My team managed to loose all their friendlies to **** teams like Exeter etc. I also ran out of time and didnt make enough signings before the window so im gonna do it again.

My main target is Soldada as on my Liverpool game he was banging in 20+ goals a season in La Liga for Getafe in 30 games. Also Salvio is a good buy.

I spent just over £100M and managed to finish 13th in my first season, in this year's FM it's harder to buy better players in my opinion and very hard for them to gel.

My version of Three Rivers FC ended up being North Rio De Janeiro with 8 of my 11 starters hailing from Brazil.

i started this game too i've just finished the first window.

here's my transfers in (nearly all were over 48mths):

leading to my first team:

tacticn.jpg

as you can see i'm being slightly 'avant-garde' with this :)

i'm using rivaldo, litmanen and aldair to tutor a couple of the young'uns and i'll be training james milner into being a MC. i've also got beckham and jordan spence coming in for peanuts at the start of the next season so i'll then have 6 englishmen. i will also buy phil jagielka when he's back from injury around december time.

4 games into the season atm, 1 win (a 1-0 win at home over chelsea no less) and 3 draws against everton, man utd and aston villa away, home and away respectively. tough bloody start! as the team gels i hope we can get a good run going, pleased with having 6 pts from those first 4 games anyway.

by the way how good are all of your initial crop of youths? by default i have 4 supremely promising looking youth players in the u18

i've got a 16yo GK 'Glenn Randall' who has 3.5star PA, a 16yo DC called John Keen with the same, a 15yo AMRLC Jamie Marler too with 3.5star, a 16yo Jason Pepper AMR, ST with 'only' 3star PA and Andrew Demetriou AML, ST of 16 years of age and 3.5 star PA. All came from the system.

OK so Ive downloaded the file and Ive started a game up but the transfer budget is always at 0 and it wont let me change the wage budget to increase the transfer budget...any ideas?

I tried using FMRTE but it wont work, once i set the transfer budget it says in the game that i had the transfer budget but there is 0 remaining

PLease help me with this one because im so bored of the game and this might sort it out. Thanks in advance.

Forgice me as I'm new to graphics editing, but where do I put the logos and kits? Just in the graphics folder or do i need to create new folders for each?

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\graphics\ here create your new folders, name it logos, kits, flags and so on and extract your files there

anybody having trouble with the xml parsing error for the small logo do the following:

1. open the config file for your small logo using word pad

2. at the end of the file, 3rd line up it says: <record from="small" to="graphics/pictures/club/2062002128/icon/>. there is a " missing next to icon

3. add " after icon

4. the line should now look like this: <record from="small" to="graphics/pictures/club/2062002128/icon"/>

5. save the config file and reload the skin from the preferences menu.

6. enjoy
