  1. Without further ado, it's time to get started. Former club legend Jean-Alain Boumsong is the main to take the reigns at Le Havre on 1st January 2024, with the club firmly embroiled in a relegation battle in Ligue 1. I have fond memories of watching him and Titus Bramble masquerading as defenders during their Newcastle days, hopefully he will be able to put up a more solid defense as a manager. The club has good facilities overall but finances aren't in the best shape. Squad looks good enough easily to stay in the division, so that will be the first aim.
  2. The "you" here of course being the evil oil-fueled juggernaut that is PSG. And the "I" being the oldest club in France, Le Havre AC, as also me personally as I have some history with PSG in France over the years. The past few times I tried to overhaul the mighty Parisians has been with cross-town neighbors Paris FC and the farthest I got was a second place finish and a Coupe de France. The last save ended out of frustration of getting distinctly average youth intakes year after year, so in this year's edition the chosen choice of club is one with a rich history of producing potential stars. (A personal note - this is my first proper FM save in a very long time indeed, in fact I have been totally off the forums for months now. My wife & me were blessed with twins around 10 months ago, which obviously meant game time came to a bit of a standstill. I was still foolishly optimistic enough to buy the game when it released, but now with work finally freeing up a bit I have decided to give it a go and return to probably my favorite league in FM - France). On reading up a bit about them, Le Havre seem like a wonderful club to manage. A good young squad, rich history of producing talent, lovely new(ish) stadium, just got promoted to the top division. In their long history they have still never won Ligue 1, so the challenge will be to eventually correct that. The idea is to lean heavily on the academy over the course of this save, and transfer wise to try and unearth gems in Africa as well as other French speaking countries. These will be more loose guidelines rather than rules though.
  3. No "issues" as such, we had twins 10 months ago making it 3 babies in total, which as you can imagine has made the 24 hours in a day seem very less indeed... However FM24 has been gathering dust on my shelf for months (I know it's a digital copy so figuratively) - so I am intent on sinking my teeth into it now that work season is a bit lighter over the summer.
  4. Long time no see mate! Hope you're well. Must say, I did not realize Reading were in League one. But they should be on their way back up soon, thanks to you. Nice club to manage with a history of producing some good players. Hope you get a few nice prospects in.
  5. And here I thought it was because of Tom Brady! Good luck with this mate
  6. I've caught up with this thread and quickly your Saints one as well. Making some quick work of FM24! I like that you are never buying superstars though. Keep it going!
  7. Congratulations on completing this epic challenge! I realize this is very late, but I just caught up.
  8. Oh yes we have all been there! And with the new game coming out soon, I will have to find a way
  9. We had twins! To add to the earlier one. So yes, that makes 3 in all
  10. Wow what a phenomenal way to win the Champions League and end the curse! Just caught up on the last (several) updates mate, amazing stuff! Been a thoroughly enjoyable read
  11. Super cool save man, as an Indian you have me hooked even though I've never quite had the courage to attempt this in FM myself! Great job with Bangalore and with the NT so far. You have had some nice new-gens as well come through and developed them. Selling a young striker to Porto is no mean feat! Sunil Chhetri absolutely is a legend, you are right about that. His physicals would have looked a lot better a couple of years ago. Also IRL for the SAFF Cup, they now invite a couple of other regional teams to make it more competitive. The last one had Kuwait and Lebanon, and India just about got over the line. Seems like that's not reflected in the game.
  12. Just caught up with the Preston part of the thread at least, great career at Deepdale. The 2030-31 season will live long in the memory!
  13. Nice to see you back! I myself have had to take a work and family enforced 3 month break from FM too... however just trying to now catch up with at least a few threads from familiar faces. A very good season there, and would love to see you take up one more role at a big club before FM24 rolls around.
  14. I for one am enjoying seeing you do it with older players
  15. Great season so far mate - and while that was a bit of a rough transfer window I am sure you will emerge strong from it regardless. The new Luis should develop quite quickly given his personality.
  16. That's a pretty resounding title win - well done! Not easy with ajax around.
  17. Isn't it! Ha! Well it's definitely not happening so quickly. But we on the right track. Well he had better be a good lad if he wants to make it a permanent transfer!
  18. Wow just had a look here, what a season so far! Hope you can bring it home.
  19. Bad luck in the playoff! Did you ask for new stadium or the board decided?
