  1. My board set one competition as "not important". We won anyways, and the media and the board went on a frenzy praising me for a week, which makes me wonder... Do you still care about winning competitions that your board set as not important?
  2. I don't think it's a good idea to use the same tactic across FM versions, for a simple reason: the developers are always tweaking with the match engine. So, you'll find out that some roles or areas perform quite differently between FM versions. For example, this year, FM22 has messed up Defense mentality. Next year?...
  3. Wow, I've been playing FM since 1929, and have never heard of such feature, which does seem to exist. However, you need to set scouts to watch a "number of games", right? My scouts are set to investigate for "1 week".
  4. Typically, up to 20 seasons. IRL that's about 4 to 5 months. So, I play two long saves (and maybe two to four short saves) over each FM edition.
  5. I totally agree. Every player (house, car, etc.) has a market value, whether or not he's for sale. There are a variety of club-related reasons why they don't want to sell him but this has nothing to do with his intrinsic value ( compared to other players in the market). More than buying/selling, a player's market value indicate his standing in the market, and also shows the value of a club "assets", monitor payroll ratios, etc.. This is basic economics 101, and it's just plain obvious that SI will have to fix this silly feature sooner or later.
  6. He looks pretty good to me. Agility, technique, pace... If he glides, maybe he's on a magic carpet?...
  7. Great question! I checked around and have some notes on the topic. * Short answer, in a nutshell: Although a lawyer will have to officially say that you need permission to use logos and face packs, if you are not exploiting these images commercially, using it for private use, and not causing a clear commercial harm to clubs or players, then you should not worry about using these packs. * Long answer, as I typed vicariously: First of all, as lawyers in America tell me, nothing is set in stone. Everything is open to interpretation. This is why there are courts, and decisions often go in unexpected ways and flop after a while. They say: "In America, everybody is free to sue anyone they want for whatever reason..." Having said that, all lawyers specializing in Intellectual Property will invariably have to say that you always need to get permission to use any trade marks, and even copy rights. This would include logos, crests, and even contracted players' images. However, unless there is a clear commercial interest or loss involved, chances of being legally sued are negligible. A club may sue a manufacturer using its crest on a product. And yet, clubs also want free publicity (aka "earned media"), so they often let TV or streaming companies to use their logos in the shows, because it benefits them commercially. (Again, nothing prevents the mad chairman of some football federation to hire a lawyer to put the fear of god on any unauthorized user: for example, Brazilian Football Federation, Flamengo club. Conversely, NFL - National "Football" League in the US - has a strict trade mark policy but always lets TV channels get away using their names and logos in TV shows without any formal permission being asked...) Millions of fans share images of Messi, CR7 or Neymar on Facebook... I don't recall anyone being sued or asked to delete such posts from Facebook. In sum, see short answer at the top. :-) PS: I'm not a lawyer, and this is not legal advice, just some random thoughts.
  8. @kevhamster and @EdL - You guys are giving poor advice. FM runs poorly under minimum requirements. It needs to be a good machine, or you will be setting new gamers for frustration.
  9. No. Celeron will not work. It needs to be Intel i5 (or higher) or AMD CPU. Read minimum requirements.
  10. SI explicitly states the need of a graphic card in FM *minimum* requirements. Unless you want to play FM with a 1970s pong look and feel... Poor advice.
  11. Given that player values since FM21 are displayed in ranges, it's a bit difficult to estimate a clear price tag upon which to add the premium you are asking about. I typically only make offers to transferred players. I offer what is being asked, but often try to break it down into multi-year payments. The extra, above the asked price, I may offer in form of a future profit percentage, varying from 5 to 25% (higher for older, 32+ players).
  12. No. You need a "gamer laptop" that has a good graphic card (like GeForce) and a multi-core processor (like Intel i5, i7 or higher). The laptop linked above has none. Football Manager 2022 System Requirements Minimum system requirements: CPU: Intel Core 2 or AMD Athlon 64 1.8GHz+ RAM: 4 GB RAM GPU: Intel GMA X4500, NVIDIA GeForece 9600M GT, AMD/ATI Mobility Raedon HD 3650 - 256MB VRAM DX: Version 11 OS: Windows 7 64-bit, 8/8.1, 10 STO: 7 GB available space
  13. Agreed. Unlike past editions, I haven't been invited to coach a national team in a long, long time...
  14. Nobody knows to answer this?... Nobody cares?... It's killing me... Thanks.
  15. Oh boy, a limit on file size?!... The other day my laptop suddenly warned me that my SSD drive was about full. I went to check, and found out that my FM auto save rolling files have taken over 20 GB of my SSD! I deleted all the majority of old saves, and also reduced number of leagues even further, so to keep things manageable.
  16. I find that once my match results decline to a low level (F), it's very hard to turn things around and not be sacked. (Surprisingly, in the case below, I was able to increase match results from F to C, but am still on the verge...). Question is: have you successfully turned things around once you've hit the bottom with an F or E up to an A?...
  17. Thanks once again. What do you think about this one, compared to the MSI you listed above? https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ROG-Strix-G17-Computer/dp/B09LTDN78D/ref=sr_1_1_mod_primary_new?crid=W8JOHWS01ILW&keywords=MSI+GE76+Raider+Gaming+Laptop+-+12th+Gen+Intel+Core+i7-12700H+-+GeForce+RTX+3060+-+144HZ+1080p&qid=1658349833&refinements=p_n_size_browse-bin%3A7817234011%2Cp_n_feature_twenty-seven_browse-bin%3A23710032011%2Cp_89%3AASUS&rnid=2528832011&s=pc&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sprefix=msi+ge76+raider+gaming+laptop+-+12th+gen+intel+core+i7-12700h+-+geforce+rtx+3060+-+144hz+1080p%2Celectronics%2C84&sr=1-1
  18. Thank you so much. I forgot to mention: I like 17 inch screens (my bad, sorry). Also, you recommended a Geforce rtx 3060, whereas there is 3070 ti and even 3080 out in the market. Should I go for these new graphic cards, thinking about future FM editions? Any better recommendations on 17 inch screen, even if the price is closer to 2,000 US dollars. Thanks.
  19. See the player holistically: I'll take a look on all those factors: personality, determination, consistency, nationality, media description, and age, but I'd be specially interested in his proneness to injury...
  20. I'd appreciate suggestions for a new gamer laptop - using Intel and GeForce (by popular builts such as ASUS, Alienware or RoG) that I can excellently play FM23 onwards. I'm in the US. Amazon, Best Buy and CostCo are popular online stores but am open to other ones. My budget is flexible (between 1k and 2k dollars). Thanks for your advice.
  21. This is an area that needs more fine tuning and that I'd like to learn more. I sometimes can schedule friendlies with local clubs if the camp is in a different country. Other times it's a big chaos of away and home friendlies across different countries that makes no sense. In specific, I'd like to know if picking a country makes any difference whatsoever (for example, I may send my team to a really hot country, so they can build endurance...)
  22. No. It's not FM22 episodic. It's been like this for a couple of years. Can you add a choice feature to deactivate VAR animation? It makes no sense to be seeing VAR every goal.
