  1. IMO, this is the hierachy for development: Own 1st team regular, loan 1st team regular (same or 1 division lower), own 1st team regular sub of 20+ mins, loan 1st team regular (even lower division), own U23s/U18s regular, own U23s/U18s regular sub of 20+ mins There are other scenarios, like a non-playing 1st team squad member but in a mentoring group, but you'd have to treat them on merits. I often have my 3rd best keeper on the 1st team subs bench to allow the 2nd best to develop with gametime in the U23s or even on loan.
  2. One limitation currently is that the DoF when in charge of incoming transfers they can only do 1 deal at a time (from my experience).
  3. I think you should be able to play as either a Head Coach (where you have a DoF doing most transfers, but you have input so can recommend players and make requests) or Manager (DoF is a glorified head scout). Working as Head Coach you wouldn't be judged on transfers but more heavily rely on results. You'd have some clubs in the league system that only hire a head coach, others only hire a manager.
  4. Where do you read that? I think there will be a fair amount of change from FM23 (they've admitted it wasn't as a good as it should be) to FM24 (this will be what they wanted FM23 to be, plus some more) - preparing for the big leap to FM25 with the rebuild. I expect FM24 to be a kind of preview of FM25, but still on the current engine.
  5. No, FM corrected the rules in game. There are no capacity requirements for the Premier League, however to be promoted you'll have been in the EFL - where the minimum capacity is 5000.
  6. Both nothing to do with SI's plans for FM24 and FM25. FM24 will be what they wanted FM23 to be, as they've had the extra time to implement bigger headline features than they couldn't give for FM23. FM25 will be a massive leap forward, and FM24 will be the bridge towards it.
  7. This would be silly, and might as well be its own game if true. Of course it's going to be part of the same database and save. You'll be able to move between men's and women's football as a manager. I can see "England (MEN)" and "England (WOMEN)" being separately selectable as leagues, though.
  8. I think what we have to see it as is that it's not "women's football" being added, but an expansion to the leagues that you can manage in FM... women's football is still football! Naturally, it'll be a semi-closed part of the game where you can't sign women to play for a men's team (and vice-versa), but you will be able to move across as a manager. Imagine winning the World Cup with England, with both the men's and women's national teams. Overall, I see it that FM24 will be what they wanted FM23 to be - but with everything that happened, they've lost several months of development time and wanted to get FM23 out on time, hence the limited new features. Due the massive changes incoming, FM25 is also being developed at the same time but obviosuly come out a year later.
  9. Has one of them agreed to sign a professional contract with their club, and the other hasn't?
  10. I disagree... you've mentioned 2 instances, 1 of which only happened today.
  11. Go to the Scouting Centre, and click on the cog icon towards the top right and there's a few options to change there.
  12. Log it as a bug https://community.sigames.com/bugtracker/football-manager-2023-bugs-tracker/759_all-other-issues/
  13. I believe it's a FIFA regulation that contracts should be no longer than 5 years, but "national laws" may permit longer.
  14. You have to offer them new contract to convert them over to full-time, which you can only do once you actually convert to professional. They are normally very willing to renew (at higher wage) to full time soon after.
  15. Is he playing for his old club Everton in a testimonial?
  16. The onus is on the selling club to take advantage of it.
  17. Sometimes with players who came who come through your youth intakes, it will say "Player X has been with the club since year Y", which is before they actually hit the Under 18s.. showing they've been at the club for a long while.
  18. A head-to-head mini-league. Hover over the position in the table and it will show a tooltip of that mini-league.
  19. Might wanna read the opening post again... Yes, I've had players hit them wide on this FM. Not sure I've seen them go over though.
  20. You can see it in the matches. Play a RIght Only player as a winger on the left and they will struggle to cross from the goalline, and look to cut back onto their stronger foot.
  21. Scouting > Players > Players In Range ad use the filter Transfer Status = Listed
