  1. Changing Auckland's nation to Australia would remove them as Oceania's Club World Cup entrant. That is the problem.
  2. Think that may be it. There's no Auckland in the CWC...Arsenal are there and shouldn't be.
  3. I had not cleared all the references to the European conference league within the Dutch Cup file. I think that was the cause and consequently stopping anything working because I had made that competition extinct.
  4. That is so strange. The only files running are that Euro one and the 80s Dutch file to allow the KNVB Cup to work. I have since discovered that the problem is with the 80s Dutch file. The 80s competition work without that Dutch file, but then the Dutch Cup doesn't run. I will investigate further. Thanks @rusty217. You can close this thread now SI, as the problem lies elsewhere.
  5. I am posting this as it is very similar to this issue posted by @Bearacov. I loaded my fm23 80s euros competitions into the fm24 editor. I saved and verified successfully. I have tested within the editor and the competitions all work fine. However, when I start a new game in fm24, the competitions never begin. The names haven't changed as they still say Champions League, Europa League, and the Conference League is still there when I made it extinct. The competitions should be European Cup, European Cup Winners Cup, UEFA Cup, and the Super Cup. European football is never played old or new! I have attached my editor file. Bear in mind this was written in the fm23 editor last year, and has verified and tested successfully in the fm24 editor. The fact that it doesn't play out in the game itself is puzzling. I have also uploaded the save game. It is called "TEST TEST -80s euro comps 24.1.1" 80s style European Competitions v3.15 (FM24).fmf
  6. @forameuss will I be able to do things like the above with your super dooper program?
  7. This sounds fascinating. So I've got this clear in my head, and I'm really not sure I have. Say if I wanted to change the substitution rules in a cup competition from 7 to 5, would your program allow me to make one change and then it would implement it into each round? If so that would save me doing it say 6 or 7 times for however many rounds there are. Likewise if I wanted to remove VAR from all competitions, would your program make it easier to do? I hope I'm not coming over as Mr Stupid 🤪
  8. What do you want to mod? To mod the look of the game see the skinning forum. To change or create databases have a look around these pages and download the pre-game editor, if you haven't already. This allows you to change various data in the game. There's a few stickied threads at the top of the editor's hideaway, and advanced rules forums. If you get stuck use the search or ask for help, you'll eventually get an answer, maybe 🤔😉
  9. I have the same with my continental competitions. Won't show up in the game yet they work when tested in the editor. I'll start my own thread later on, when I'm at home.
  10. I think you'll be alright as you are using fm23 database with Dave's fm23 files. There's no conflict there.
  11. Don't worry, I have now found it. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction @TCSSkin.
  12. I've been playing about with the fonts, colours. I have changed the human controlled part to the colour I want. I have also changed the header to a colour of my choice. However I have hit my head against a brick wall when trying to replicate last year's header. How would I change the continue box to be the colour of whatever team or competition I am looking at? Like this... I can change the text colour to white easy enough but that will also change the continue box colour to white. What xml text controls that bit specifically, and how can that be set to change colour depending on what team page, or competition page I am on? Whilst I'm at it how can I change the club name to be just capital letters. Thanks in advance for your help.
  13. Just to get this right, did you end up rewriting your fm23 file from scratch in the fm24 editor? I was hoping the patch would allow my "fm23 verified in the fm24 editor file" to work but it doesn't.
  14. @keysi, is it easy to change the yellow/gold fm24 theme colour and replace it with another one? And the same with the team you're managing when viewing fixtures or the league table?
  15. You should pop that file over to the downloads section @Reedo.
  16. That's me each year, and each year I buy it. However I feel so cheated this time round. I was so excited about the ability to continue fm23 save in this version. But looking through the bug reports I couldn't guarantee that I won't come across crash problems. I don't want to waste my time for a few months to see my save drop due to bugs. I always say to myself that I'll buy the game in March after the final patch release. I never do, but I hope I learn my lesson. Fm25, whilst being much anticipated, will no doubt be 3 years away from being where it promises to be. I hope I'm wrong but we've seen it all before. Even the pre game editor has taken a backward step, but then it usually is an after thought. Just all very annoying. I currently have no desire to load up the game in it's current state. Frankly, it will be a waste of time. Instead all I find myself doing is preparing the game for when it is ready to play, through preparing edits and basic skinning. Oh, and I really must promise myself not to look at the GD forum before and after new releases. That way I won't get sucked into the hype, and afterwards read about all the problems. Some of these issues I wouldn't have noticed, but now I know about them I can't see anything but those issues!
  17. Maybe there should be a tick box in the editor that says "Have referees do their job?" !
  18. I actually like the goal line technology because it works! Am I right in thinking removing VAR wouldn't remove goal line technology unless you actually untick the goal line technology tab?
  19. I have an issue which may be linked to what is being discussed here, although I'm not getting a crash. I have got my euros database from fm23 to verify in fm24 (I've adjusted the dates to 2023 from 2022 within the database). However after verification the new competitions do not appear in fm24. The competitions present in the game are the old ones I have removed or changed, and to add further confusion they never start. I wonder could this have anything to do with me bringing the fm23 file into the fm24 editor and then verifying? Maybe some corruption from old data? I don't know, and what is puzzling is when I test the competitions in the editor everything works fine. I didn't want to have to rebuild the whole file, but maybe I'd have to 🤔
  20. I transferred my fm23 save to fm24, and have noticed a problem with attendances being incorrect. The attendances in my team's schedule screen are correct and the same in both versions. However when I click on the match score to see more details the next screen shows a different attendance figure. This does not happen when I do the same in the fm23 save. The uploaded files are entitled ChowderChonks 28.2, and ChowderChonks 28.2 FM24
  21. @keysi, thankyou so much for an absolutely top class skin.
  22. I can't see it for Group Stage. I've double checked the fm23 editor and it's the same there as well. It seems you have to change the tab to Cup for the Round Defaults option to appear.
