  1. 1982 for me on my good old zx spectrum 48k LOL! In fact it was probably 1983 by the time I got my hands on this. I was 10 / 11 years old and hooked on football management games for life. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_Manager_(1982_video_game)
  2. I really don't know how easy this would be , but the ability to change the starting year would be great. You could design an edited era and have the game start say in 1985. Just the ability to change the date would do. We would have the option then to created retro databases eg your Iron Curtain @Wolf_pd, and set the start date to 1988.
  3. God forbid any more wars, but the ability to override any political decisions that world governing bodies have implemented. Eg. Ability to put Russian teams back into European competitions with the click of a button. Allowing banned nations to play in international competitions (again with the click of a button). Allowing teams that have been ordered to play at neutral venues to return to playing at their home grounds.
  4. Save game feature is a very appealing feature BUT I'd like to know a couple of things.... - can any iteration of an FM save move on to the new FM, or is it only the previous version that would work? - would an edited database save game be compatible with this feature or is it only possible if playing with the original database competitions?
  5. I had put this in another thread but have come to the conclusion that it may not be read as it was attached inside another thread. So I've copied it into its own one.... I have been reading in the general forum about stadium editor requests and problems of licensing issues as possible reasons for lack of realistic specific club stadia. Licensing is a pain in the backside for making this game as fun and immersive for us users. Here is an idea... Make available a stadium editor where we can fully customise stadia and their surroundings to look as realistic as possible. Have this stadium editor as a separate DLC say £4. All the revenue created from this DLC is to be donated to a charity, say War Child, as they have a long running association with FM. Any created content can only be used by those that have bought the stadium editor, otherwise the majority would just let the creators buy it, which would not be fair. If people don't want to buy it they just have the stadia that comes with the game. What do SI get out of this? SI would be seen as the good guys here, good PR as they are raising money for a worthy cause. The customers benefit from more realistic visuals that we wouldn't otherwise be getting, and War Child would benefit from extra donations to their charity. What about licensing issues? Well if clubs object then they should be named and shamed. This would be bad PR for these clubs and they would be seen as the bad guys. They wouldn't want that. So maybe, just maybe this would be a way of discouraging clubs from threatening litigation??
  6. Can you not move this whole thread to the feature requests thread so that SI see some of the great ideas being discussed here?
  7. It will probably be in the graphics section as an actual png graphic or something similar. I would imagine replacing the actual cursor graphic in that folder with the one you want would do the trick. The skinning forum would be the place to ask. There's a thread for asking little things like this. https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/570260-fm23-random-and-small-skinning-questions/
  8. This thread is relevant here relating to requests for stadium customisation. As it's in the request section if some posting here would contribute in there as well the profile may be raised further with SI developers. I threw my two cents in whilst trying to think outside the box!
  9. Thanks for the kind words @Lord Rowell. Try the 23.4 version. It is far more polished than the earlier incarnations and is the best version I've produced. Regarding the finances.... I agree with what you say about the prize money, but part of me wanted to make the European competitions extremely appealing to clubs. This puts such a massive emphasis on winning the league to get into these competitions. If a team misses out it is going to hurt domestically, and could prove extremely costly for big teams missing out. The Champions League, for example, gives teams 4 bites of the cherry (in England) to enter the top European competition. With my file it is one bite, one chance, that's it. The financial reward is definitely appealing. Manchester City will have made over 90m euros in prize money and TV revenue in this year's Champions League campaign. The prize money in my file comes to 137.5m euros (for getting to and winning the final) plus TV revenue of 500k per match. So there is the potential to add another 4.5 million euros to the coffers in TV revenue. A rather large carrot for the winner is what I have dangled here . The Cup Winners' Cup and UEFA Cup are also attractive but on a sliding scale.

  11. I think this is the link you're after... https://community.sigames.com/forums/topic/571122-fm23-oceanic-pack-16-nations-continental-international/
  12. I swap and change leagues all the time. When I start a save I have a base setup of country's that I'll permanently keep active. Then I add and remove leagues based on teams that qualify for the last 4 in uefa and conmebol comps or the the last 2 in the other federation's comps. Likewise the last 4 nations in the world cup will stay active for 4 years. My player count fluctuates between 160 and 190,000. I like to keep as much realism in the FM world as possible without loading every nation in the world at once! This provides competitive continental competitions. I should add I use the around the world database to include as many nations as possible.
  13. I had this in fm21. I basically didn't play the game because of it. Any official help was pretty fruitless as far as I can remember. I seem to remember it happened when I used an edited database that I had created. I gave up with that version of FM.
  14. In advanced rules, List > Fortuna Puchar Ligi > General, there's an inactive box (5th down from the top). is that unticked? Also what about the start dates in the Requirements tab? Adding a starting year may help.
  15. Oh yeah fully aware we're all on the same side. Just in case any football club representatives are reading this, sort yourselves out chaps
  16. I think the best we can hope for is doing it ourselves. Would be a nice feature to change the start dates easily within the game. I think it is possible to have custom start dates, maybe I've made that up but I'm sure I've seen it mentioned! In theory, you could set about the mammoth task of creating a retro database world. Take the old first division for example, with the 22 team league. You could put an end date on it, and then have a start date for the 20 team Premier League starting. Take the idea further, you could have the World Cups set up , with the formats of the time changing each word cup to the present day. Has to be possible but such an enormous task. It would be like @Wolf_pd's Iron Curtain, a full time job to do. Regarding historical licenses, I think it's ridiculous that games have to be removed from steam due to license problems. I have bought games on cd in the past, (and upgraded my own pc several times), that I now could not play because support on steam has been removed. These football clubs should see these for what they are ... Games 🤬
  17. You're welcome. I unticked the "is extinct" button in the competition itself. Then in advanced rules I changed or added the start and end dates of the 2019 and 2020 competitions in the general tab (I think). Also in the same tab (I can't remember now as not at my pc), there was an inactive box that needed unticking in both 2019 and 2020. Think that was it off the top of my head!
  18. OMG that's about 4 to 5½ hours a day. That's alot of mouse clicking. I don't get that done in a week!
  19. I've tested the file in the game and pleased to say it runs fine.
  20. @tonidopa, I had a play around. I've verified the file and tested in the editor, but have not had a chance to test in the game itself. Does this work? france with coupe de la ligue.fmf
