  1. Does anyone know do they become more frequent when the save has advanced and has 2 teams of newgens on the pitch? Or is the fear that the clubs involved could raise legality issues rather than individual real life players?
  2. If you re-write the competition it could be possible, but in doing so you would be sacrificing the coefficients. If you take a look at my UEFA Cup section here, and see how I've picked the teams. You'll see that Continent > Teams is blanked out. Look at UEFA Cup > Teams > Team Pool. If you were to add each league to pick 2 teams to qualify for the Champions League in theory it should work. Also add in the Domestic Cup winners to qualify and have a backup in place for the scenario where they've already qualified for the Champions League.
  3. As my attentions have turned to amending this file this week, I decided that the Third Round of the UEFA Cup being played during the 2022 Qatar World Cup was annoying me. For this season only, the Third Round will be played in January. This will ensure clubs have full quota of players available. I anticipate this will be the last update to my file. For anyone using it, enjoy it.
  4. Thanks for everyone's input. Using the options in the Players screen and altering the Euros Finals dates by a week solved any clashes. I holidayed up to 2073 and checked back through the finals this evening. One of my files uses FA Cup Final replays which can take place right up to the end of May. First team players seemed to play in the replay on the 31st May, and also the next International friendly on 4th June 2070!! So it looks like it has worked.
  5. When I said 2 rounds I meant the teams play each other twice, as opposed to the 3 rounds you had before. A relegation playoff would need to be tied in with the league below if it is to be a relegation / promotion playoff. If it's just a relegation playoff then you wouldn't need to do anything to the league below, just as long as it knows the right number of teams going up and coming down.
  6. It is not difficult. It is a case of removing the stages of the relegation and promotion groups. Best thing to do is look at a league that has 2 rounds only, and then copy that format, adjusting things to accommodate for 16 teams, and the relegation places you want.
  7. Thanks very much. I had never really used that screen before. Does anyone know what the "Days Before Finals Competition For Late Squad Meet-Up" does exactly? The description says it is "How long before the start of the finals to delay their meetup date to". Under what circumstances would that come into play? Or is that for individual players being allowed to join up with the squad late due to club fixture commitments. Would be handy if that was the case but I have a feeling it is not. I've played about with the dates as they weren't filled in, and also adjusted the tournament dates by 7 days. I will test it out and see how it goes.
  8. I have been using this file by @Tonton-Oni, which I have been enjoying immensely. I am putting this out there to anyone that could answer me as I'm not sure Tonton-Oni is that active on these forums and may not see my question. I use this file with others of mine and I currently have an issue of International friendlies clashing with major continental and domestic finals. Consequently players do not play in the finals as they're away on International duty. Now I could rejig the calendar of my files but the most pain free solution is to move the dates in this file, BUT I cannot find where the International friendly dates are. Where are they usually located? The only dates I can see are the the competition ones (finals and qualifications in the list on screenshot). The problem dates occur on a 4 year cycle (2024, 2028, 2032 etc), and the fixtures are the 3 friendly dates in the last week of May (usually any 3 dates between the 20th and 29th May depending on the year). Could anyone point me in the right direction?
  9. @codingandgamingwithadam I have fixed the dates clashing. I set up alternative fixture dates, basically mimicking the European fixture dates from the original SI format. I have holidayed through to 2035, and just double checked each year. Everything is now fine. I will update the file into the first post. Thanks for pointing it out, and I hope you now have a trouble free save!
  10. Ok, after testing up to 2035, there are still clashes even though I have moved the 2nd leg by a week. I'm actually better off leaving the date as it is. The International calendar just seems to move between weeks and depending on whether it is the Nations League or European or World Cup qualifiers. I'll play around with those tick boxes I mentioned above, but I can't promise anything. @codingandgamingwithadam Did you manage to field a team for your 2nd leg match? How did the game handle it?
  11. I just happen to be on a day off work so have had a sit down with this to study it ! ! I see the clash is due to the Nations League? That explains why I don't see this as I play on a different database which doesn't include the Nations League. However I see where the clash is happening, due to the Internationals being played on the Tuesday of the European 2nd leg dates. I am currently running a test, and will report back. There is an option in the editor to check for International clashes, but whilst this may be the case for the ECWC, the problem you're experiencing with the EC is that the players have yet to return from International duty by a day. I could not see an option to in the editor to make the fixture be rescheduled for that reason. There is a tick box of whether the manager can select a squad, but it is ambiguous as to what it actually does. What I have opted for is to move the 2nd Leg back by a week. This means a 3 week gap between legs. I am reluctant to move the 1st leg due to possible other clashes. So, I am testing this now to see how future International dates fit in with this change. Another knock on may be domestic cup competition clashes but that should see fixture postponements of the domestic fixtures. I will wait and see the results of my test.
  12. Feel free to try it yourself. You'd have a major problem with fixture congestion, player fatigue, fixture scheduling, and the need to change the super cup qualification rules. My head is spinning and the thought of attempting that! I've not come across that before. I've seen matches rescheduled due to ground sharing problems but not international games. I'd need to look into that myself and check out the international calendar and any clashes.
  13. I revisited my file and refreshed my memory as to why I had chosen the date that was chosen. It was because Spain and The Netherlands were always resetting a lot later than the other nations in Europe, and consequently the editor was picking the teams from the season before last for the continental qualifiers. Therefore setting the European set up dates to August guaranteed that that wouldn't happen and thus selecting the correct teams. I have now set the date to match the Spanish reset date (The Netherlands reset just before Spain). So the European comps now appear for board expectations from the 10th July onwards instead of the 3rd August when the draws are made. Thanks for raising this, it's nice to iron out the niggly little things over time. The file is in the first post of this thread and is version 3.1. Don't forget to combine it with the Dutch file if you want the Dutch Cup to work. As always if anyone finds that any problems please let me know.
  14. Not sure if that's because I changed how the editor picks the teams, rather than the conventional way. You could try changing the start dates of the competitions, I can't think what I've put it down as now. I seem to remember in testing I was having trouble with comps not starting with enough teams due to end of season dates. It all doesn't make sense now when trying to think back for the reasons why! I'll certainly look to adjust things for FM24, but I know what you're saying. I can't promise an adjustment for this version.
  15. Nice to meet you back @kecvo ! I am happy with the structure I have replicated from a bygone era. Sorry 🙂
  16. I came to the conclusion the other night that re-doing the competition from scratch would be the sure fire way to get the host nations you want. Just a pain that would be the only way to do it. Regarding the hardcoded news items.... Would they still happen if you delete the default CWC from the game?
  17. In the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter. The game won't retire you.
  18. As @FrazT said above, check in here https://community.sigames.com/forums/forum/26-editors-hideaway/ From memory what you're after may be solved using offset dates. I'm not at pc, but think that's the right area to look at.
  19. Agh, you're dead right. I just tried to replicate what I described above but it played out exactly as you stated. I had made Japan host nation and added 2 Japanese stadia to use. It used the stadia but said Mexico was the host. 🤔
  20. I'm afraid not. In my file the hosting was fine for the first year as I had named the stadia to be involved. In the second year onwards I had hosts selected but they were never chosen. In theory if you were to re-write a competition (have a cwc 2023, cwc 2024, cwc 2025 etc), adding stadia for every year, like I had done in my first season. This would force the editor to use the nation and stadia you want. However it is not ideal, and would be very laborious, plus you would be only limited to the amount of seasons you were prepared to do it for. I considered this but decided it wasn't worth it.
  21. It's one thing I've never thought about, although i have noticed it takes me longer to scroll down to 1972 with each FM. That's FM reminding me that I'm getting on!
  22. Try limiting you fps to 60 in the nvidia suite. That solved my problem with my last GPU that should have handled higher fps with no issues.
