Parity / Competitive Balance in Europe
\'Appy \'Ammer replied to burrowss01's topic in Editors Hideaway
I hear what you're saying, and it only leads me to the conclusion that the manpower for fm24 was under resourced once fm25 was on the horizon. That's the only sensible reason I can come up with as to why so many issues are outstanding. -

The barmy thing is that @Daveincid seems to understand what needs looking at, and yet the makers of the game neglect it. -
[FM24][HELP]Random and Small Skinning Questions
\'Appy \'Ammer replied to TCSSkin's topic in Skinning Hideout
Could someone tell me what folder controls these small flags? I have created 2 nations and this is the final piece of my puzzle that I cannot do, as CIS and Soviet Union are being awkward. The CIS one has changed to Belarus flag, which is what I want but it is smaller than the others. And I just cannot replace the Soviet Union flag with the Russian one. I have changed the configs to reflect the new UID's of 583 for Russia, and 574 for Belarus. So where is the game drawing upon the instructions to use the Soviet flag and a smaller Belarus flag? This is the path of where my flags are: -
Parity / Competitive Balance in Europe

SI have really let themselves and their loyal customers down with things like this. I don't want to sound like miserable swine, but why, why, why did they not get things fixed that have been around a long time? We've all spent countless hours trying to fix things that they won't / can't, only to find that whatever you do won't work. I would love to see a dedicated SI member to help explain the workings of the pre game editor. Maybe that will never be on their agenda. FM24 has been a let down for me in terms of playing the game. I simply haven't played it. Instead I spend my time in the editor, trying to get the gameworld I want to play in, to work well. Has the product outgrown SI? Many things have been neglected. Problems have been logged but not fixed. It is clear to me that the majority of the resources have been directed at FM25. However let's face it, FM25 is bound to be littered with issues until about FM28 I reckon. The whole scenario is just disappointing. -

Clubs are not getting relegated from FFP
\'Appy \'Ammer commented on Branquinho1997's issue in Pre-Game Editor
I wouldn't be too surprised if this has not been fixed due to fears of litigation. It's the sort of thing I expect from football clubs these days when their "good" name is muddied in a computer game! -
It's a no I'm afraid. I have a save where the rules are present on 2nd August 2043, but have gone on the saved game of 1st Aug 2044. That's a couple years difference on my original reporting of this. I stopped and saved the game on 8th April 2045 where there had been no closing down taking place, and all the rules were still present. It was only when I reloaded an earlier save did I see the problem remained. I am at a loss on where to look to rectify this and would really appreciate some pointers in the right direction.

Second World cup for teams not in the FIFA WC
\'Appy \'Ammer replied to Roy Race 9's topic in Editors Hideaway
I agree that ignore teams in the scenarios above should be working. However, I thought about this idea this morning, and I wonder if this way would work? You could create a hidden league stage with all the nations in the fifa world in. Apply the ignore teams from world cup ruling. Set the league to play 0 games, and to sort the teams in world ranking order. If the ignore rule worked, you would then have a league table of all the nations in the world that are not in the world cup in world ranking order. You could set seedings to be incremental. Then for qualification of your competition you would get the top 64 teams from your league table, and have them go into the next stage, where you would then setup your cup competition. All this is a bit rudimental as I'm not on my pc, and going from memory of what may and may not work. -
Thanks @cleiria, I have the same in my inc file. After lots of fiddling about I now realise this only works when you start a new save! Schoolboy error from me

I must be doing something silly as I can't get the name to change, long or short. I have put ... "NATION_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" 574 "Belarus" "" "NATION_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" 574 "Belarus" "" ... into the nation.inc file and saved it in ...Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2024\data\database\db\2400\lnc. I have cleared cache and reloaded the skin but still I am reading CIS instead of Belarus. What have I done wrong?
-
Can I use this for the long name too? I can change Soviet Union to Russia, but I can't change the Commonwealth of Soviet States (CIS) to Belarus. In game I get Russia, but I still get CIS or the long name too. Annoying the hell out of me.

Custom Nation not playing Europa International League
\'Appy \'Ammer replied to Schlumpy's topic in Editors Hideaway
I've done it with Soviet Union and CIS. If you send me your file I can point you in the right direction. Send me a PM if you want. -
Valid squad selection value.
\'Appy \'Ammer replied to EnigMattic1's topic in Advanced Rules Editing
What squad selection value have you chosen? Whatever it is it doesn't exist! Check fixture rules in the nation as well as in the league. -
Parity / Competitive Balance in Europe
\'Appy \'Ammer replied to burrowss01's topic in Editors Hideaway
Personally I play the old competition format of pure knockout football. If you don't win your league, you don't play in the European Cup. So, difficult for all the top teams to compete at the top table at the same time. -
Parity / Competitive Balance in Europe
\'Appy \'Ammer replied to burrowss01's topic in Editors Hideaway
There's a little bit of "promotion of home grown" players chat in this thread (about halfway down). I had the 6+4 rule but changed it due to reports that the AI manager wasn't adapting to the rules properly. I think @Rob 396 produced a mod where the owners or the board would be up for election every 5 years, although I can't find it, and I'm not even sure if it was for fm23 or 24?? He also started this thread with some similar thoughts to yourself. -

I raised this as well! -
I have 4 stages setup that are hidden, and this is being used to get the correct amount of qualified teams. I am getting the correct teams to enter in the actual competition itself (stage 5). However, in the team overview > competitions > First Team screen which shows what competitions a team is in for that season, it is showing the cup competition that they are not in but were in at the hidden stage. Likewise if I click on the competition > Teams, it will show all the teams and at what first stage they entered at. So, I can see First Round qualifiers, Qualifying Round qualifiers as normal BUT I also see the teams that were in the hidden stage and didn't qualify. They are showing but with a blank space in the first stage field. Is there any way to stop this appearing? I have played around with the ranking levels and set things like no fate, and do not rank but it is still happening. It is not a game breaker as qualification works just fine. It just would be nice for it not to show. EG not have Brighton in that list in the screenshot as they didn't qualify. They would have done if England had 4 spots, but on this occasion they only had 3. Any help would be warmly welcome!
