  2. I really do like what you have done and I like the alternative version. Is there any chance you would be able to do something similar with Wales? Somebody allowed Swansea, Cardiff, Wrexham and Newport into the Welsh Cup which is great however it would be even better if they could have a playoff for the Champions League Spot and/or if you could get two Welsh teams from England taking up two european spots like you have done with Scotland?
  3. Clive English - Back to the motherland - APOP Geroskipou Match Day 29 - AEL (A) The biggest game of Clive's career was upon him. After a team meeting easing expectations and some last minute talks with individuals, everyone was ready to go out and enjoy their football. First Half The first half started well, with Geroskipou putting massive pressure on the AEL back line. A few slices of cheese were handed out for some rash challenges that didn't really need to be made, but Clive chalked this down to nerves starting to creep in. He told his team to calm down and focus, and it seemed to work, with Blichfeldt rolling away in a premature celebration after slotting home from an offside position. This seemed to instil some needed confidence in the side, they had breached the sturdy defence once, so why could they not do it again. Then it all went bonkers. Mariano smashed home a shot in the 40th minute, then straight from kick off, AEL gave away a free kick just inside their own half. The ball was whipped in and Bohorquez poked home at the back post to make it 2-0. Geroskipou switched off, and a long ball played from the ensuing kick off saw Serrador go one on one with Lukic, who slotted home to make it 2-1 in the 42nd minute. 3 goals in 3 minutes. Nobody in the stadium had ever had been in such a glass case of emotion. Luckily for Clive, the third goal had managed to calm his players down and the half whittled away. Half Time: AEL 1 - 2 Geroskipou Second Half Compared to the final 10 minutes of the first half, the start of the second was the polar opposite. Both teams played in a reserved manner, not wanting to give any cheap goals away. On the hour mark, a long cross from the left wing found Sundstrom at the back post, and the winger outjumped his marker to head in from an acute angle to score to make it 3-1. In the 69th minute, Mariano was scythed down in midfield trying to start a counter attack and had to be replaced. This was Clive's last substitution, so 6 minutes later, when Blichfeldt also went down after picking up a knock, he had no other option but to move into a 4-4-1 formation, and try and kill the clock. Things really came to a head though in the 87th minute, where Leiva got himself a straight red card after trying to exact revenge on Mariano by doing his best Cantona impression, leaving Geroskipou to try and defend a 2 goal lead with just 8 outfield players. Clive moved to a very defensive 4-4-0 with 2 wing backs, 2 holding midfielders and a normal back 4 to try and snuff out any AEL attacks. The final 3 minutes plus injury time went very slowly, but there were not more goals scored. Full Time AEL 1 - 3 Geroskipou They had done it. Geroskipou exacted their demons from the previous seasons and finally won their first ever First Division title. The board gave Clive a massive wage budget for the next season, £80,000 p/w was a far cry from a few seasons ago when it was just 10% of this. Table APOEL drew in their game, meaning the gap as of winning the title was 12 points. Fixtures 4 games left in the season, 3 in the league and the cup final to put another nail in APOEL's coffin for this season.

  6. The systems I've been looking at are £1500 ish, then would need monitor etc, thinking of speaking to pc specialist. Good to hear, I do keeping thinking of streaming and YouTube but wonder if I'm a bit old for that now too haha
  7. We don't have system specs for FM25 as yet - so a 4070 will be overkill for FM24, we can't really say with any degree of confidence re: FM25. If you let me know your budget, I can have a look at what's around for you. I turned 40 over 2 years ago and I'm not stopping!!
  8. Episode 119 - Champions League Playoffs | 1st February 2032 "Players Leaving Viking on Loan" -- Steinar Braathen - MC / AMC Steinar Braathen had a breakthrough season for us last term, making 15 appearances at 6.97 but with little end product - no goals and only three assists. In what, I think, will be a more competitive Viking midfield this season, we decided to loan Steinar out as I don't think he'd get as much playing time here, as he did last season. It's going to be a make-or-break season in Eliteserien with Åsane for Steinar because, after a season playing for our first team, he didn't kick-on enough to convince us to make him part of our plans this season. It's a shame, because Steinar would've taken a HGC place for the UEFA Champions League but it's more important for his development that he gets plenty of Eliteserien playing time. We will reassess him at the end of the season. -- Eivind Helland - DC, DM Eivind Helland has played for us the last two seasons as a back-up centre-back. He's never let us down but hasn't quite done enough to convince us he can be a regular starter. With the new centre-backs we've signed this off-season, Eivind has been pushed further down the pecking order so a loan makes good sense to get him more playing time than we can offer this season. We will reassess Eivind at the end of his loan. -- Per Joar Hægstad Johnsen - DC We've only just signed Per Joar Hægstad Johnsen and have very high hopes for him but, based on current ability, we're going to struggle to give him the playing time he needs to develop this season as we are very strong, and overloaded with centre-backs currently. A loan at Eliteserien Vålerenga will be ideal for him and hopefully we'll reap the benefits from that next season. -- Sean Nilsen-Modebe - SC We think a lot of Sean Nilsen-Modebe but could only give him five appearances last season as he's behind some very good strikers right now in Lasse Nordås, Anders Hartveit Ryste, Edvin Austbø and Henrik Skogvold, possibly even Oscar Aga so we think it's best for Sean's development to get loan time away from the SR-Bank Arena. We'll reassess him at the end of his Eliteserien loan with Sandnes Ulf.
  9. While I know that my squad is not meant to be a winner squad, as I play with OM every year (became a FM tradition), my problem is with the complacency that my team have during games that I lose. I wouldn't have any problem if I lose, but I see my players trying to win games, but every loss that I had in FM24 is basically: My team miss passes every time, I change my midfield, or decide to send the ball forward, as I am not being able to pass through the press, but that definitely doesn't change anything, as my players loses the ball anyway, and my team don't get any possession. Together with this, I basically cannot press them, neither defend. It is like their players know where every ounce of space is, and my players don't. So I get pressured the whole game, even using OIs and individual marking, the players are always dismarked and ready to do their things. And that is tormenting me, because in games that I win, my team is playing exactly as I expect them to play, with their flaws and strenghts. But in games that I lose, is like my team only have flaws, and they are all over the place. The game against Nice was the worst game in the season, Moffi was having a field day, and nothing that I did was able to stop him, and his first 2 goals in the season were against me. I saw his last perfomances, and they were all terrible, but against me he played like Messi. But somehow the same defense that weren't able to stop nice, were completely capable of stopping PSG from thrashing us.
  10. That’s very top heavy and your players risk tripping over each other around the box. I’d drop Casimiro to DM and move Mount to CM as either a B2B or a CM-S. You’ll have more movement and a more stable defence. W-attack will drive to the byline. Personally I wouldn’t use Garnacho like that, I think he’s better cutting in as an IW. W-support with instructions to cut inside might work. I’m also not convinced Shaw is a CWB, I think a slightly more conservative role (FB-S) would allow him to support Rashford rather than push into similar wide positions.
  11. Hi, after recently falling victim to an online scam, thought money had been sent so mailed my laptop only for no money, I want to get a new gaming pc, aslaptops tend to sound like they are about to take off. I'm looking at an i7 with a 4070 graphics card, is this over kill? Or better for future copies of fm? I'm turning 40 next week and wondering if it's time to hang up my tactics board?
  12. Cheap and dirty it may be, but a promotion's a promotion (and an (improved) language is a language) and they all count the same.

  14. Hi guys, im a guy who loves playing fm mostly to experiment different tactics and roles, recently in one of my saves I came across basically a Trent Alexander-Arnold regen, 18 passing and vision as a right back, basically the exact same player. Now, I could just train him to be a dm or cm but I like my midfielders, and I have been a big fan of inverted wing backs this year on FM. The role I'm trying to get out of him is in the screenshot attached, basically what trent is doing this year. Dropping in between the CBS and playing long balls and expansive passes while also maintaining possession. I figured out I could practically do this with playing him as a dm on anchor, with take more risks on and more direct passing, but if anyone knows how to achieve this from him inverting from fullback, please let me know.

  16. Wednesday 28th January 2032 Viking (Norway) v FC Porto (Portugal) UEFA Champions League -- -- -- This was an enthralling game of football, which I'm sure the neutrals would have enjoyed, between two very good teams who were both trying to win. In the end, when the dust settled, both FC Porto and ourselves qualified for the playoffs. I'm sure Luka Elsner and his FC Porto team will feel aggrieved, and perhaps a draw would've been a fairer result, but we were more clinical in front of goal and throughly deserved our win. We could've won by even more if, at 0-0, Anders Hartveit Ryste hadn't tried a stupid panenka penalty which their goalkeeper just stood still and caught in his midriff. --
  17. I'm not too familiar with the Ligue 1 squads, so take this with a grain of salt. However as far as i know, Lens and Nice are two of the better teams in the league and Leipzig are a good team too. Doesn't seem too unlikely to lose especially when your squad isn't much better than the league standard, just my two cents. Saying anything about your tactic is quite hard imo, doesn't look like anything major is wrong with it imo. However without seeing what formation your opponents played and how you conceded your goals, and maybe even more interesting would be to see some of the game against Lens to identify why you only generated 1 chance.
  18. I started me save with OM, and had several nice results in the beginning of my save, but I am having a problem that in games that I lose, my team is simply nule in the game. No chances, the defense is all over the place, it seems like a total different team from when we win. I really I'm not being able to see where my team is being bad, because sundelly everyone starts to miss passes, they left pockets of space in the field, and despite putting instructions to try to stop this problems, they persist in levels that I truly not even enjoying playing FM24 anymore. Just a comparison between months, I won several big games, even that woney against paris by 5-1, but now I can't win even the simplest of the games. That game against leipzig was a disaster, as my team was winning 2-0, they equalized, I did changes, we made it 3-2, I then started to seal the spaces to try to hold the result, but again, my team literally decided that they don't know how to defend and let them score 2 back to back. This game against Lens was even worst, my team literally didn't played the game, I had 1 opportunity, and they dominated me, despite the changes that I did. That is the tactic that I go in games with, but I usually change things during the game in favor of the game.
  19. Also had this in the European Super Cup - an injured player who left the match in the 90 after I'd made all subs could not them be subbed off in extra time when we get an additional allowed change
  20. Hello everyone, I've added the alternative version at the top, please check it out and let me know which version is your favourite?

  22. Clive English - Back to the motherland - APOP Geroskipou Match Day 28 - Alki (H) With only 5 games to go, the title race was 'heading to the wire', despite Geroskipou being 8 points clear. With APOEL being 10 points adrift the media had placed them out of the running, leaving just Nea Salamina to try and win the league. Clive whipped out his calculator and knew that 8 points would be enough to secure the title even if Nea Salamina could win their remaining games. So a win against Alki to start off the run in would be a massive pressure off the teams back. Geroskipou raced out to a 4-0 lead at half time in front of a sold out crowd, with Blichfeldt grabbing a hattrick and an own goal from an Alki centre half. Early in the second half, Mariano scored to make it 5-0 to put the game beyond doubt. It was only then that Geroskipou switched off, but Clive was relieved, as it saved on clean sheet bonuses. Table After the game, Clive was overjoyed to see that Nea Salamina had lost against AEL at home, giving them a 10 point lead of 2nd place with 4 games to go. He whipped out his calculator again, did some quick sums and realised that 1 win from the final 4 games was all that was standing in the way of a maiden First Division title.
