SpillBlood
With FM22 comes my annual Rotherham United save. The title is tounge in cheek, our squad was hit with Covid twice meaning we had to postpone fixtures of the 2020/2021 season. Just look at the fixture list for April We were staying up until Cardiff equalised in the 88th minute to send us down back to league one. So it's my job to take us back up. If there isn't any issues I'll be carrying the save over to the full release. My database: Always like a big database to find gems. I sorted exploited that with my York City save as Colombia had some insane cheap newgens . Not alot of history for us Millers. I think our biggest achievement is the League Cup final but that was many moons ago. I mean our squad for League One is incredible. This is what the game thinks my strongest 11 is. In truth the squad has no weakness. We've had a fantastic summer bringing in players to not fill the gaps but massively improve them. The only improvement that's needed is a left footed CB to play in the back 3 but in FM I've never felt this has been an issue. The difference in real life compared to FM is in FM we also have an extra CB who's been unable to play for Rotherham this season in Angus MacDonald. Also have to note Rotherham United doesn't have an under 23s side. The team: Johansson is one of the best goalkeepers in the league and Vickers is an excellent backup who could push #1 spot. Magic Hat Richard Wood, MacDonald, Ihiekew, Edmonds-Green, Harding and Mattock can all play CB. Bola is a great backup for Ferguson at LWB and they can both play backup for Mattock at LB. Harding is the teams best RB with Odoffin playing backup to him. Odoffin will also be playing in midfield. Barlaser is a Championship MC and can still improve and you have the quality Wiles and the two duracell batteries in Rathbone and Linsday. Odoffin and Shane Ferguson can play back up to those four and we have six that can play in the center. Ogbene is the best RWB/RM/RW at our club. Miller is great as an IF at RW and a good backup at LWB. Sadlier who is with the attackers is great as an IF at LW. Upfront we have the 6'3 Smith who will be leading your line in whatever formation you'd use, or I'll use. Grigg should be his partner but he's been lackluster so far. Kayode still has great potential and Freddie is Freddie. Ladapo is my 3rd striker if Grigg can find his boots but Kayode has been decent in pre-season. The biggest problem at Rotherham United is I've managed to keep Johannsson, he'll be a Championship goalkeeper easily. Smith, Ikky and Linsday have agreed to have their contracted extended. Ogbene wants far too much and his agent now dislikes me. The others can wait 'til the end of the season. Rotherhams best formations are The way we're set up in real life, Ogbene would be at WB but he's currently injured. I play with this a tiki-taka style. To fit in our fringe players this is my second formation It plays Sadlier and Miller but it's been very strong in pre-season. I mean we have a good enough squad to play 4 - 4 - 2 but our MC four are just too good that I want to be playing three of them. This is how good we've been doing pre-season Sheff Utd managed a late equaliser but we've controlled every game. I can't see why we can't win the league. And if Smith keeps his pre-season form going he's scored 5 in 8 I'll think he'll get the top goalscorer. With that, it's time to start my season Edited October 21, 2021 by SpillBlood

SpillBlood
August So close to being perfect. A poor pass from REG to Harding, they knock a ball over and Ikky messes up for Plymouth to take the lead, Smith equalised straight after and I'm thinking we've still got this. Change formation, attack, 93rd minute corner is swung in, REG is free and he hits wide! It was an absolute sitter. Thankfully after that even if we've conceded, our players have found Smith who's been incredible. Sadlier is actually pretty good in the striker role and he scored the winner against Wigan. I didn't change much of the side that battered Fleetwood and they Wigan tore Richard Wood apart, he gave them an early penalty so a win was huge. Both Ikky and REG did score against Morecambe and Ikky again against Donny so it isn't just Smith . Grigg has been poor though. Our 5 - 3 - 2 formation is now our main formation, though we could be losing a player pretty soon. We couldn't afford the wage he wanted, he said about exploring options and then got offended when I said Rotherham is close to his heart, I mean we stuck with him through all the time he was injured. Sadly it looks like we're losing Ogbene to an MLS side but I'd rather take a mil now then nothing at the end of the season. I have players who can play at RWB. Carabao Cup Huge win, Freddie was class as we played 4 - 3 - 3. Midfield were brilliant, big difference and Brighton come to the New York in September.JPT Straight forward. Wait, my board. A 2 - 0 win was classed as a B- with no negatives. I think I need to make a seperate save and post this as a bug. September has some big games, hopefully we can keep the form going. SpillBlood
I'd love to keep Ogbene but he is refusing to stay, Lapado is on 3k a week and isn't going to be offered a new contract. SpillBlood
September Not the best month. Not enough cutting edge vs Lincoln and they very much deserved a draw. Lincoln took the lead in the 91st minute but Ogbene put in a great cross for Smith to head into the net in the 93rd! I played the 4 - 3 - 3 against Fleetwood we used in the cup and even switched back to 5 - 3 -2, we battered them but we just couldn't score. Thankfully a Smith brace won us the game at University of Bolton Stadium as it was a tight contest. We were the better team against Wimbledon and another Smith brace saw the game out. Wimbledon did pull one back after another Michael Ihiekwe mistake, that's 3 mistakes leading to goals in 10 games, that's bad. Crew are flying high and I'm losing sight on the pack of three infront. Some big games coming up next month. Of course Smith was player of the month againCarabao Cup The fairytale continues! Another Smith brace . And in the fourth round we are drawn at home against a team we can beat.I forgot! I usually do t his much easier but with FPP limits I need free loans in, especially finding someone to cover Ogbene. Big month ahead in the chase of automatic promotion.

SpillBlood
October Easy routine win at Cheltenham, I wish we could play them every week. Compared to Charlton where my defense just didn't play well, even though we were the better side and created more chances we fell behind, a couple of subs later which included Mattock, he gave a penalty away and we just couldn't score. The goal above was Richard Wood putting us in the lead with an absolute belter, wasn't even goal of the month! Johansson made a mistake at the back from a cross into the back for an easy Portsmouth equaliser but that man Smith popped up and found us a winner. A Michael Smith hat-trick saw us batter Wycombe and get Ainsworth sacked . We scored twice against MK Dons but both ruled offside which saw us drop two points. We fell behind against Sunderland, Rathbone missed his interception and Corry Evans scored a belter. Thankfully Harding popped up for his first goal in a Rotherham shirt and Sadlier found the winner with a Smith assist.@deltabluewill be happy with how that table looks! Ipswich are running away with it. Third month in a row for Smith.21 goals in 16 games, this is madness Carabao CupA quality goal from Odoffin saw us beat another Championship side Yeah, we'll need more than a bit of luck here JPT Even Foden came on to try and help them out FA Cup A nice draw, means I can send some of my players on holiday and play some fringe players for fitness.Senior Affliiate Well, City were offering us no money and their best prospects wouldn't come to us, even in the Championship so I've gone for Chelsea.Next Month Start with two simple cup games and then onto some very big fixtures. We have to beat Cambrige and Ipswich!

DefinitelyTaylor
The cup run has been absolutely magical thus far. It’ll take something extraordinary to beat Liverpool but hopefully they rotate and it increases your chances. Nevertheless, it was never within the expectations to do this well. The main focus is the league campaign which is looking good. Ipswich appear to be on another level which is impressive given the squad you have that you’re getting good results from. He isn't awful but I doubt he'll be here at the end of the season. Lacks the work ethic and misses too many chances. The difference with Grigg is he'll control the ball and lay the ball off, Lapado does the expected school boy try and take on and it's so obvious. I thought Odour was a left sided player? SpillBlood
November A great start to the month. Smith put us ahead early against Shrewsbury but they pulled one back just two minutes later. Sadlier scored to give us the lead again and Ogbene killed the game. We were excellent vs Cambridge, they had no answer for us and those points helped us push for automatic promotion. There's a reason Ipswich are top, we tried, we got better after I went 4 - 3 - 3 but my word they're just a class above any other team I've played. Viktor was brilliant in the first half yet his mistake cost us the game. We weren't good enough against Oxford, even though we were ahead through Smith just after 3 minutes. A class freekick from Gavin Whyte saw Oxford restore parity before McGaune put them ahead. Smith was our saviour to rescue a point in the 83rd minute. Ipswich are absolutely flying. Smith runner up this month aswell FA Cup Not the best but we're through and we play my last save team York next.JPT Look at the comeback! We were 2 - 0 down, changed formation and old boy Sadlier was class. And we kept it goingBarlaser situation Sounds brilliant doesn't it? Well, it wasn't. Thing is Newcastle will recieve 50% of the next transfer of Dan Barlaser, his agent wanted a min. fee of 2mil with no room to negotiate. So I can get promoted or hit January and lose a championship quality MC for a mil? That is not happening!December Hopefully catch some points up on Ipswich in December. SpillBlood
December We weren't doing much until Sithole was sent off for Gillingham and Smith put us ahead just before half time. Sadlier doubled and Smith got himself a brace before a late consolation for Gillingham. We were the better side against Burton and it showed, quality play and goals from Smith and Ikky to give us the win. We battere Cambridge, Smith could of had 10 but he was snatching and Saldier was the hero getting himself a brace before a mistake at the back in the 92nd minute gave Cambridge a shall chance. I think the Liverpool game hit our morale as we were poor against Accrington, too easy for them to open up the back line and they deserved their win. We took the lead early against Lincoln through an Adelhakun own goal but the second half belonged to Lincoln as they scored two and took all 3 points home. Not happy with how we've played the last few games, I may have to change the 3 CBs and our style of play. I believe we should be doing better than we are with this team. I was clear in 2nd but being dragged down to a dogfight for 2nd spot. Ipswich have pretty much win the league already.Carabao Cup We weren't the only side that got battered by Liverpool today.. I approached this in the wrong manner and they tore us apart.Cup Draws I'd love t o win JPT as I don't remember the last save I actually won this trophy.Richard WoodJanuary New blood is needed with Freddie and Ogbene leaving. I don't see why we can't get maximum points either. Edited October 24, 2021 by SpillBlood

SpillBlood
January Much better against Bolton. Smith with a brace and Ikky getting on the scoresheet saw a very one sided game. Doncaster was our first match with the new 4 - 3 - 3 system in place and we were class. 4 - 0 up in the first half through a Smith brace, a Sadlier pen and Angus MacDonald popping up with a goal. Donny did score just before half time with an absolute belter. We got revenge on Fleetwood through Kayode who was on for Smith due to Smith being absolutely knackered. Another Smith brace saw us have an easy game against Cheltenham And it continued into our game away at Crew. Another Smith brace and another Sadlier pen, lovely. All league wins and starting to pick up more clean sheets. Still 12 points behind Ipswich Smiths back at his best And my first award JPT Yeah, I forgot to screenshot the loss. I did say I can never win this cup. Their only shot on target and it saw the end of my 3 CB formation, it just wasn't clinical enough.FA Cup A game we should have won A game I think our xG was slightly unfair but it doesn't matter, 5 goals for Smith . Transfers Now the new end of transfer screen is alot cleaner, the new deadline day is very smart. Mattock wanted out, I didn't need another LB and only wanted loans. I needed an IF from the RW and midfield cover, especially so Barlaser can have some rest. He's still class, just a little slow. Think he'll be great for us. He's playing for a team in Lithuania it seems and since they have no fixtures etc they allowed him to leave. Probably a bit of a cheat loan . Can cover all the midfield roles. Expensive wage but looks class.February Not really bothered about an FA cup run, I want my players fit and to try and catch Ipswich.

SpillBlood
February Not a good month. We were the better side against Wimbledon and somehow we found ourselves behind. We managed to draw with a whipped in corner, Odoffin heads in, it looks like it 's going in but MacDonald makes sure it does. I well think he stole Odoffins goal . Let's not talk about the Sheff Wed game, we were absolutely terrible and they destroyed us all game. I rested some players against Accrington and the players that game in did great, Kayode getting himself a goal, Grigg a brace, a wonderful Honda freekick and Odoffin actually getting a goal and it was a sweet hit. We threw it away against Wigan. I made some subs at the break and within 5 minutes we were 3 - 1 up. They attacked and you could feel it coming, their last goal to equalise came through sub Sadlier clearing out with a very poor ball, two points dropped. Another two points dropped again bottom of the league, they equalised in the 90th minute. Not good enough. Atleast we did better against Plymouth with a Michael Smith hat-trick and a good goal from Rathbone, still conceded two easy goals. We're hanging on to that 2nd spot, we gotta do better. Interesting though, this was at the start of Feb and with his hat-trick Smith a 50 year record . Another record broken aswell. Honda pinged a ball over for Ferguon who was playing as my B2B to give players rest and he headed in.FA Cup Mitrovic was class, we couldn't get near him, oh well.Next Month We have to win all 4 games! SpillBlood
March We started the month brilliantly. Smith put us ahead after just 5 minutes and Wiles doubled our lead after 7. Barlaser scored goal of the month in the 63rd and Honda made is 4 in the 64, easy. And it continued into our Wycombe game, we struggled for a bit but we made some changes and a Smith brace saw us take home all 3 points. Barlaser put us ahead against Shrewsbury by blasting home a penalty but Cosgrove pulled one back before half time. Kayode put us ahead but in the 87th minute Cosgrove scored again. I gotta get us to concede less from crosses. Not good enough against Sunderland, we took an early lead through Smith but they were 2 - 1 up at half time. I changed back to 3 CBs and we conceded another cross but then played alot better. Smith pulled one back but it wasn't enough, we had chances. Ipswich will set record points easily. I could still finish 4th here. Finally dedicated an award to me .Next month All or nothing. It's between us, Wigan and Sunderland to finish 2nd. Who will get the 2nd spot?
SpillBlood
We've really messed it up for ourselves. We've forgotten how to finish and our form is terrible. Luck isn't with us either, we've just drawn a game due to a freak own goal. I think we'll finish in the play offs and Sunderland will finish 2nd. SpillBlood
April Terrible against Portsmouth, they took the lead, got a red card late on and then scored a 20 yarder. Not good enough. Charlton were awful and a freak own goal where they've hit the ball back in, someone has slid in to clear it which has caused the ball to hit Ihiekwe and it's gone in. Smith managed to equalise but we couldn't win. We fell behind against Ipswich, Smith came on and scored a hat-trick. Brilliant come back. Oxford took an early lead and we managed to equalise after 59 minutes. They were sent down to 10 men after 81 minutes but we couldn't find a winner. Oxford took the lead after 20 seconds due to a mistake from Harding, we equalised in the 30th minute but couldn't find the winner. We started poorly against Gillingham, went 1 - 0 down after 3 minutes, 2 - 0 after 5 minutes, Smith pulled one back and then they got a straight red. They score again, Smith scored pulled another back and equalised just befor half time. Harding put us ahead and Smith got his 4th to give us the win. Those draws cost us. 54 goals from Smith and we'll play Oxford who have Liam Delap, I don't see us going up.Intake Nothing to see here . Onto the playoffs it is with no Harding or Ferguson. SpillBlood
Pre-Season Assistant played my friendly's, I needed to try find some players. It's been very difficult, two of my main targets, both from Barnsley, both decided to join Oxford instead. Inside forwards with a left foot seem to be a rarity so I'm playing with a RW now instead. It's been quiet really. This is this seasons formation to start with, see how we do. Transfers Bree will compete with Odoffin for my RB position, I think Bree is a brilliant capture for us. Bastida can cover my midfield positions for no money, brilliant. Moller is backup for Smudge and he's quite the handful. Grant is a backup wide player. Thorniley is backup for Tilt Ward looks like he could offer something so he's my main RW. I really have struggled finding players who want to come to Rotherham, those that fit the bill and don't want silly money. Harding wanted to leave so I had to take the best offer I could find before he left on a free and Miller wasn't good enough sadly. I hate to see Wood leave but he's far to slow. The rest aren't good enough which is a shame. I think Hull is looking good in real life. I have money, I'd love better CBs but I just cannot find them. My current CBs are Tilt and Ikky with Thorniley and MacDonald as backup. Decent, but could be better. The rest of the team is looking strong enough but this isn't to say that there won't be any more transfers. I think we have enough cover for everywhere, I have a young GK coming in to play third string. We have time to see if we need to invest. Atleast they might have the leagues top goalscorer right his year Carabao Cup I mean, if we play in the league like we did here, we'll be up there at the end of the season.August Some big games to start the season but we should be good enough to win them. SpillBlood
August Well, that was a brilliant month and start to the season We were in complete control against Cardiff but it took a wonder strike from Ben Wiles to open the scoring. Late in the game sub Moller has a shot saved and another sub in Joe Ward hits it in for a debut goal. We were the better side against Derby but they really should have equalised, huge chance and a huge save from Viktor. I rotated round against Tranmere to some of the lads who played in the cup. Smith isn't finishing like he was last season because we'd of scored atleast another 5 Thorniley is giving me a proper headache and to be honest the whole of the defense are. Ferguson gets in at left back because of his corners and free kicks, the other 3 spots everyone is playing well. Sadlier missed an early penalty against Crewe but we kept it going, Sads set up Smith after 61 minutes and Ferguson with a quality ball plays in Sads to make it 2 - 0. Only team to win all 4 opening games and to do it with 4 clean sheets is lovely. (Yep, Benteke is playing in League One)Carabao Cup That's a big game, hopefully they'll play some fringe players.JPT Easy enough group, I really want to win the JPT this year.Transfers I didn't bring anybody else in, there's still room in the squad but when everyone is here I don't need anyone really. I just do actually lose players to international duty and I don't get my games postponed. Moller, Kayode and Ferguson won't be here for the Salford game.Next Month I'm not fussed about a Carabao Cup run, I'm more interesed in getting 4 more league wins in September. SpillBlood
This was my last game before I've gotta go to work and I have to share it early because I know some people will love it. Smith with 4, we outplayed them that much they ended up with 2 red cards
DefinitelyTaylor
Excellent start to the season and exactly the sort of response you want to see after some play-off heartbreak at the end of last season. Smith is just far too good at this level. He's almost a cheat-code!
SpillBlood
September Not good enough. Brilliant start from the post above. We battered Accrington yet we couldn't get ourselves a 2nd goal, Smith isn't putting the same chances away. Awful defending cost us against Shrewsbury when we were the better side, finishing not much better. I thought Rathbone had rescued us a point but a ball in and Thorniley not following his player, they had a easy header in to put them back ahead. I couldn't believe what I'd just watched, Ward should have equalised but somehow hit wide. As I type this he's just missed an absolute sitter against Wimbledon. Cambridge was much better atleast. We've got to do better, we're in 2nd now. I'm not sure how to get Smith to put his chances away like last season.Carabao Cup We were very good, lovely to see. I had to rotate and give others game time. MacDonald, Tilt and Bastida were bloody awful and watching Viktor, every shot could have gone in, it was bloody awful to watch . I actually punished Viktor afterwards he was that poor. Next Month I want to see green for every game, we have the squad, we're creating chances, we just have to put them away. SpillBlood
October Nice solid win against Wimbledon. Goals from Smith and Kayode in the 2nd half to seal the win. We went down early against Sunderland and I made two very early defensive subs and it worked out. Smith scoring just before half time to equal the scores. A long ball over, a mistake at the back by Sunderland saw Smith put it in the back of the net for all 3 points, huge win. And it was pretty much the same score here, we battered Cheltenham but we found oursevles behind and only found a winner through Smith again in the 86th minute. We were 2 - 0 up against Millwall and cruising, I made 1 sub for a player with a 6.5 rating and it fell apart. Such a throw to draw. So their goal was pure luck, a lucky deflection fell to a player somehow not ruled offside to put Wednesdays up. Kayode equalised just before half time. Ikky gave away a penalty which was thankfully saved and we battered them, hit the woodwork 3 times and somehow only got ourselves a point. Ward also missed a sitter but he's good at that. Viktor went from hero to zero. We were 1 - 0 up and looking like we were going to win, a cross comes in and he fumbles it straight to their striker so we only took home a point. He's been dropped. Vickers had a solid game, the whole defense did. Tilt came back in for Thorniley who's not been playing aswell. Smith gave us an early lead, Ward actually scored and Sadlier put away a pen. We should be clear of Millwall here but find ourselves 2nd. I'm so glad we have Smith.JPTFA Cup Draw Next Month That's alot of games to be played, gonna have to be heavy on rotation and try our best.

We had chances to make it better, just hope we keep this form going and it'll be us and Millwall fighting for first and both securing promotion. 11 hours ago, deltablue said: Benteke at Millwall seems like a surprise!
