It's ok, but for the same price (well, a couple of quid more, but basically the same price) you can have this:

https://www.box.co.uk/82S900YQUK-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Gaming-3-Intel-Core-i5-8G_4415151.html

It has a newer generation CPU and graphics card and should see stronger performance.

I was thinking of picking this one up as well, but then I took a look at the second i5 version they have listed for an extra £70

https://www.box.co.uk/82S90034UK-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Gaming-3-Intel-Core-i5-16_4338321.html

And then this one for the same price

https://www.box.co.uk/NBCBAP15716-3-Chillblast-Apollo-Intel-Core-i7-16GB-RAM_4404027.html

At the minute I'm leaning towards the £650 i5-12500H Lenovo but I'm wondering if the i7-12700H Chillblast is worth the same money with it having a 'better' (?) CPU but a worst GPU (I usually play 2D anyway)..... from a brand that I've never really heard of.

The 1650 is perfectly fine for the current match engine, but I suspect it would need to have some details turned down (at the least) for FM25. Still, the i7 should help to progress the game faster outside of matches.

hello! sorry for the mistakes, I write with  help of a translator. I want to buy a laptop only for FM. It is important for me that the gaming process will  go quickly with a large number of loaded leagues. Accordingly, there is a question
1. If I play only 2D, does the choice of videocard matter? Will geforce rtx 3060 be suitable in this case?

Now I'm thinking abot ASUS tuf gaming f15  Intel Core i7 12650H 3.5 ГГц, RAM 16 ГБ, DDR5, SSD 1 ТБ, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060.

what do you thing about it?

Need some advice from the experts - is this laptop any good for FM23 please?

I play in 2D - so the graphics capabilities don't need to be fantastic. I want to be able to run games with the major countries loaded and maybe 2/3 obscure leagues to make saves fun (say 8/9 countries maximum).

Would this laptop run a game of that size at a good, enjoyable speed please?

The RTX 3060 is more than enough for 3D at max settings, so it'll have no issue with 2D.

That's a very good spec computer right there.

Hey guys, I’m looking at upgrading my laptop that has been running the last 4 or 5 FM’s. Would like to future proof as well if possible. Would something like this work? Budget is around this. Thanks!

https://www.currys.co.uk/products/acer-aspire-vero-av1451-14-laptop-intel-core-i5-512-gb-ssd-blue-10243350.html

The issue here is, this will be absolutely fine for FM23 and likely FM24.

FM25 on the other hand will see increased system specs and I can't say hand on heart this will be good enough at that point when it comes to the graphics.

I'd suggest going for something with a dedicated graphics card, such as this: https://www.currys.co.uk/products/lenovo-ideapad-gaming-3-15.6-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-rtx-3050-512-gb-ssd-10249077.html

It'd be ok, but for the same price this one has a CPU which scores higher on the benchmark sites: https://www.currys.co.uk/products/hp-15seq2510sa-15.6-laptop-amd-ryzen-7-512-gb-ssd-silver-10225070.html

So far I am very pleased with this machine and I have seen significant improvements to speed of game. However, some context, this laptop was replacing a unit with a 6th Gen i5 core 200U with4GB RAM and a Intel HD graphics 520 so it would be difficult not to see improvements!

It takes about 50 secs for the game to open. My Game set up is England, all playable down to Level 11, and Wales, down to JD Cymru N/S, represent 13 leagues but effectively is 104 divisions with a medium player database. The estimated game speed is showing 5* and set up took less than 4 mins 30 secs to load. I play in 3D and graphics are far superior to what I am used to.

The service from seller was very good. Free delivery and arrived next day from order.

I trust this note provides some help.

How does the one you have recommended compare with the laptop you recommended to Soulfusion, link below:

https://www.box.co.uk/82S900YQUK-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Gaming-3-Intel-Core-i5-8G_4415151.html

is the small price difference worth any potential performance improvements?

Thanks in advance

Based on the info I can find, I'd say that the one at Box is the stronger of the two, so if you can afford the extra then go for it.

I was just offering an alternative for the same price as the one you'd already asked about.  :)

Budget is around £700, willing to go a little bit over if it's worth it. Found the below - I'm not very techy - is this the best choice within my budget? Main concern is that I know FM25 is going to require better specs and I want it to last 5+ years if possible. Don't play any other games and main other use would be social media and watching YouTube and Netflix.

It's possible to get a 12th gen Intel laptop or an equivalent AMD laptop for the same price. Eg:

Thanks! Is there a big difference between Intel and AMD in terms of FM or general performance? I've only ever had Intel.

It varies from model to model.  Both have produced good and bad, so you have to look at each one case-by-case.

But, for reference I've had an AMD processor in my own PC and it's been great.  But I have no personal preference for one over the other.  It was just the best value within my own budget at the time.  Sometimes Intel will be the better option, sometimes it'll be AMD.

Looked further into these and I think both are refurbished rather than new (unless I'm mistaken). I've had bad experiences with second hand laptops in the past. If this is the case, are there any new ones around my price range that you'd say are just as good/a little bit of a downgrade.

The first one does appear to be used, but the Currys one is brand new.

Ah yeah thanks, not sure why I thought it was refurbished. So would you say the one below isn't worth the extra £100? The only advantage I can see is that it has more RAM, but with the Lenovo one you can install more (not done this before, but hopefully it's easy).

EDIT: Or this other one from Currys - again, not much difference apart from Intel and more RAM.

It will but maybe only up to a medium/ high  graphic, It also depends on how many leagues you want playable. If you tell us what your budget is, I’m someone with much more knowledge than me, would be happy to help find something.

So the i5 processor would be better than the i7 ?

Yes.  The 11th gen Intel laptop CPUs were a significant improvement over the 10th gen ones.  Much stronger overall performance and much better integrated graphics as well.

The Lenovo has both the higher scoring CPU and a dedicated graphics card, so that'd be the one I'd select.

Hi there. Old laptop has had its day and looking to upgrade.

Looking for laptop than run FM 23 very well and meet the graphics changes in the next year but also I would like a good display as I use my laptop to watch all my TV shows/Movies/watch football. So it doesn’t necessarily have to be a gaming laptop, creator laptop with good display is under consideration. I only play FM. Budget is flexible and willing to consider all suggestions

You say the budget is flexible but we do need to have an idea how much you can go to before we can suggest anything.

If you can stretch to 630, I'd recommend the above on the basis it should also be OK for the changes that will come in when FM25 releases.
