Fosse
Finally we have a much more flexible wide attacking role, Wingers and IF were too restrictive in my opinion so this is great news !
yellowforever
Would have preferred a blank role, but this will do.

herne79
Keep an eye on rashidi's FM20 videos thread pinned to the top of the forum. He's got one lined up for the Inverted Winger .
Zemahh
Also, officialy clarified here: https://community.sigames.com/topic/495637-football-manager-2020-pre-release-beta-official-feedback-thread/page/9/?tab=comments#comment-12065219 10 minutes ago, Jack Joyce said: IW is more of a creator that cuts in from the flanks with the ball. IF is more goal-focused, making runs into the box and trying to open up shooting opportunities.

FMunderachiever
Does the inverted winger have the dropping deep kind of behaviour that the advanced playmaker has when used out wide or do they stay high? Or is there the possibility of training an inverted winger in the AM slot to drop deep to become a bit more involved in the buildup?
craigcwwe
New roles are always welcome.

How deep and how often a player in that position may go depends on different factors such as your chosen mentality, the player's given duty, attributes and any Traits they may have. So an IF/IW/AP with an attack duty in a system which uses the Attacking mentality and a player with the Trait to get forward often who lacks Determination and Work Rate, probably won't go as deep or as often as a similar support duty player using the Defensive mentality who doesn't have the Trait and has Det / WR to spare.
XuluBak
Small sample size, but so far, I'm a fan, especially with an 'either' footed winger.
