These past two promotions have been amazing :D. Brilliant work. Think you're sticking with San Martin into the Primera or will you be on the lookout for a bigger job?

They really have been something else! Thanks Oriole :)  I've just accepted another 2 year contract with San Martin but if a bigger club comes in for me then I'm happy to jump ship!

Escudo de la Asociación Atlética Argentinos Juniors.svg

Asociación Atlética Argentinos Juniors is an Argentine sports club based in La Paternal, Buenos Aires. The club is mostly known for its football team, which currently plays in the Argentine Primera División, and was recognized as one of the most important football teams of South America by FIFA. It is one of the eight Argentine first division teams that won the Copa Libertadores. The continental trophy was won in the club's first entry to the contest, in 1985. The most remarkable sign of this team is the power of its youth teams, which unveiled some of the most talented footballers in Argentinian football history, with Diego Maradona as the greatest example of all.

¡Vamos a subir, dije que vamos a subir!

I quite enjoyed the randomness of the teams in 17th and 22nd being relegated.  Is that due to playoffs or senior teams above being relegated?

the idea of beating a team by numerous points in the table and still going down instead of them seems gloriously malevolent

It's because in the Argentine 1st and 2nd tier relegation isn't settled by who finishes in the bottom couple of places, it's done by average points over 3 years, if your bottom of the average points table then you get relegated.

So you're telling me you've plugged your way through two nightmares of leagues just to jump the ship to another team? I can't believe this!

However, Argentinos Jrs. is pretty cool. I had to drive past their ground every day when I lived in Buenos Aires a couple of years ago. It's a really small club surrounded by some huge neighbourhoods, but they always sold out.

That's exactly what I'm telling you. :) Hopefully I can take them to be Argentine and South American champions, that's the aim anyway.

A perfect month! Massive wins over Vasco da Gama sends us top of the Copa Libertadores with by far the best goal difference and we finish 2nd in the league and guaranteed Libertadores football for next season as well whilst in the Copa Argentina we went 2-0 up in 2 minutes and then needed penalties to see off the tie...

What a busy final month that turned out to be! We win a treble as we won the Superleague Cup which I believe is a new competition? I don't remember it from the last time I was in Argentina, that's for sure! We've also qualified for the Second Round of the Libertadroes where we're up against Uruguayan side Penarol.

That Superleague Cup is another hurry-up-we-need-to-invent-something-quick Argentine scheduling sh*itshow kinda tournament the AFA invented because the Argentine league is in transition form that horrendous 30 teams league a couple of years back to a 22 team league. This means every year, 4 teams get relegated and 2 are promoted. Because of this, they're faced with a 26 team league this year, which was too much for a 50 game schedule, but too little for a 25 game schedule, so they invented an extra little tournament to go along with it. I see SI haven't continued that relegation/promotion thing as you're still stuck with 26 teams in 2049, but irl there will be 24 teams in the league in 19/20 and 22 teams in 20/21.

I'm in 20/21 and there are 22 teams in the league, so it's probably something to do with the additional leagues

As what nsd said, I'm pretty sure Argentina didn't change because I didn't change it in the editor, it's no biggie though. :D

Solid month sees us up to 2nd in the league just a point behind Gimnasia La Plata. We're through to face River Plate in the Copa Libertadores Semi Final where there's no more Brazilian teams! We're also through to face Banfield in the Copa Argentina Quarter Final.

What age did you start as? What do you do when get to 80/90 years old? Or does the game just carry on and you don’t retire

Started out age 22 and if I remember correctly you stop at age 100 but the game continues after that.
