And we started off so brightly...for the 1st time we've failed to qualify for the Quarter Final of the Hun Sen Cup and in the league we're somehow occupying a playoff position unless Defense Ministry win their game in hand. Also, yet another Junior Coaching upgrade!

Good luck with this.

I briefly had a save game in Myanmar to kill time before the next FM came out one year.  It was pretty good fun, although I found any foreign players in the league to be way ahead of their domestic counterparts.

Thanks Sir_Liam, Myanmar seems like a cool place although to me the teams names are quite odd haha. It's the same in most Asian leagues, the foreigners are way, way better although it will be interesting to see if the other teams manage to replace them once they retire or whether they'll go on using only Cambodians.

I bet you feel so used by your now ex assistant manager!

Gobbled you up and spat you out! I have a feeling he's going to regret that in a few seasons time.

Not good on the decline of the league but all it will take is a great season and you'll skyrocket it back up.

Hey, that Piseth guy is good...ish!

Good-ish? I'll take it :D Considering our best 2 players are strikers he still may have to wait a while to get into the first xi.

We actually lost another assistant this season but thankfully there was another ready and waiting to join us but for now it seems like a Cambodia wide problem, at the start of the season there were 9 clubs without Assistant Managers, now there's just 4.

Another terrible second half of the season but we were a lot closer to reaching they Championship Playoffs so at least it's a step in the right direction,

Cambodian clubs in Asia

Boeung Ket were amazing! They topped their AFC Cup Qualifying group by scoring 16 and conceding 0, they beat Bruneian side Najip 4-2 in the Preliminary Round then Vietnamese Ha Noi T&T 3-2 in the Playoff. In the Group Stage they were drawn against Myanmar's Yadanarbon, Indonesia's Arema and Vietnam's DT Long An..they topped that group as well. In the 2nd Round they beat Indonesian's Persib 2-1 and in the Quarter Final they beat Singaporean's Home Utd 5-2 on aggregate. They were finally beaten in the Semi Final by Filipino side Global 2-1 on aggregate.

AFC Champions League

Guangzhou win it yet again in a repeat of last years final. Both them and Al-Ain score shedloads of goals, Guangzhou just scored lots against much more difficult opposition. 4 players were tied for top scorer, Guangzhou's Jackson Martinez and Ricardo Goulart, Lekhwiya's Youssef El Arabi and Al-Ain's Brown Ideye all scored 9 goals.

AFC Cup

02cf049c29e291ebd0ac5d621605d12a.png

A boring final sees Jordanian side Wehdat beat Global on penalties, due to the amount of games they played Boeung Ket had the top 2 goal scorers, Yemi Joseph Oyewole scoring 15 and Dzarma Debiro scoring 12.

First of all, I love the nation you pick, but that would have been the Philippines because I'm a Filipino, but your coaching life in Cambodia could be fun.

Second, amazing run by the Boeung Ket as they ride along with the Cambodians. Expected to see another surprising run by Cambodia soon.

Third, I was looking to see if the PFL have run because the competition starts in April, but I will see what happened and their recent standings. And also how's the Philippines in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers aside from East Timor?

Finally, I think you might be happy if you made it to the AFC Champions League. And also, I'm targeting the year 2126 could be Cambodia's year at the World Cup.

I'll be following this and keep up the good work!:)

Looks like 4th is the way to go if you want to win the playoff. I can think of a certain manager who'd love to manage in Cambodia...

Only time will tell before we find the Cambodian Arsene :D

Thanks Sherwin :) unfortunately I can't add the Filipino league since I only used the editor data for Cambodia and I also can't see their standings :( The national team haven't been great but they have made the AFF Suzuki Cup Final twice. 2126 World Cup? I'll see you there :D

Nothing to be ashamed of here!  Gutted to drop out at such an early stage, especially as the next round would be a pretty easy draw against either Bala Town from Wales or FK Qabala from Azerbaijan, but we went pretty much toe to toe against the Dutch giants!

Our best friendlies by far! Not that it means anything in comparison to the league.

Board want mid-table, media predict bottom and I'm aiming for top 7.

A small clear-out but we also lost our 2 registered goalkeepers and the squad registration isn't open until March so we'll play a game or 2 with a grey in goal.

Good to see another Asian save going .  Good luck with this.  I loved my time in Cambodia.  Such a beautiful country with, as you say, so much history.

As for the Asian Cup, some big surprises there with the likes of East Timor and Palestine going as far as they did and no sign of UAE?

Asia really doesn't get enough love over here, UAE finished bottom of their group on 3 points behind Iraq, Iran and Jordan.

Sadly, I am not great for keeping up with doing these sort of threads...

But I will keep you apprised of my progress...

Like joining a club with no players

2020 Youth Candidates

This is it. This is the epitome of youth intakes in the grandest way. All 16 players are 1* CA or over, all of them could play in the first team right now if I could register them, yes a lot of them are very small but I think that's more of a South East Asian thing than a problem, we've also got 3 Professionals and 3 Fairly Professionals.

Rough start to the season, but excellent intake! Especially like the look of Dalin, he's a bit on the short side for a CB but otherwise he looks excellent already. Shame about the personalities on the GKs, but if Rotha has good professionalism and doesn't get snapped up he's probably got you sorted there for awhile. Nice to see so many Pro's this early on, too.

That's a great intake.  I really think improving your junior coaching is crucial early on to give you a more competitive team and help establish yourself.  I wouldn't worry about the height as it was the same for me in Myanmar, with everyone being small, and I still won the title.

Shame we already have a decent GK so now it'll be 3 fighting for one spot.

He is a bit short, even for Cambodian standards, the league average height is 5'9 but I guess there's still a possibility that he could grow, I'm quite surprised how many pro's we have as well, we may have to get rid of a lot of players in the off season with low potential/ determination.

Hopefully we can get the last Junior Coaching upgrade next season then it's just the hope of getting a good enough team for continental competition to start paying for other upgrades.

For the first time this save the Champions League has not gone to China as Al-Ahli defeat Jiangsu 1-0 in the Final, the top scorer went to Jackson Martinez again as the 34 year old added another 13 goals to his Asian Champions League collection so that's 69 in 64 games.

AFC Cup:

Jordanian side take home the AFC Cup despite not looking too strong through the tournament eventually beating Vietnamese side Binh Duong 2-0 in the final. There were 4 players who scored 7 goals this year, Yadnarbon's Keith Nah, Bengaluru's Sunil Chhetri who's now retired aged 36, Muharraq's 20 year old regen Jaffar Abdul-Jalil and Binh Duong's Jose Amougou Nsi.

An amazing 1st half to the season since we're top of the table! Naga World, Wat Phnom and Cambodian Tiger will probably overtake us with their games in hand but we're still looking really good for a playoff place come the end of the season. We've also qualified for the Quarter Final of the Hun Sen Cup without conceding a goal so far!

That was one hell of a tough end to the season as we played the champions 6 times, runners up Boeung Ket twice and 3rd place Naga World 3 times. Ouch. What was surprising was season champions of season 2 Asia Europe Utd getting relegated with just 1 win to their name all season.
