Yes, my contract's good for 24 more months, but I hate to offer a new scout $2,400/wk knowing what I'm getting. Now that the team's head of the table and in the Champions, unless I get an upgraded offer soon, first EPL offer comes through, I'm jumping, and taking as many of the Dozen I can with me. This has been a very satisfying and productive season, despite our reliance on some loaned players to get us to the top and over. Facciolli was great up front until he was injured, and I'm sure his club appreciated the experience we gave him. I couldn't justify a transfer bid for him, though. Mason and Ledson were both great rotation options in the middle during our Scottish and Euro Cup play, and Caprodossi was a rock next to Kincaid. I know that each loan player takes playing time away from the Dozen, but between injuries and national call-ups, we couldn't have continued our progress without them. Please enjoy the 3 updates I have included tonight, I've been doing little but playing this save for a couple weeks now. Hopefully some of our erstwhile participants (salzia27, Chao Yang, Lenzar, glennuk, Tardelli, terence123470, letissierandhenryaregreat) might check in and leave a comment (but I'm not holding my breath). Lets' make some waves in Europe this coming season.Would be interesting to see Mr. Baker and most of his dozen bail out to the EPL...the board better take stock of what they have right now! I know McFlynn's been called up for England but I don't think he's ever played in a non-friendly match. I know that Wallace has at least one senior cap and I'm thinking someone else has had one for Scotland (maybe McDonald?) I'd bail for the EPL and try to take everyone with me, but once you start poaching players, the old team starts jacking up the transfer prices unless they're looking to shed payroll. But if the right situation presents itself, I might attempt it. I would like to see the new stadium open and maybe make a good run in the Champions first, though. podunkboy
You know, I was browsing tactics discussions and it occurred to me that we're really not currently taking advantage of our strength in midfield (ie Balmont and Crane, even Teron in some instances). I mean, they're distributing the ball well, but most of our assists (and a high percentage of our goals) are coming from our wide play (wingbacks, wingers, wide midfielders). I'm thinking about tweaking one of our tactics to bring Balmont and Crane more into the action, either through training as a more attacking midfielder/treq/engache, or just routing the ball through the middle of the field more, as right now, everythings "play wider", "clear to the flanks", etc. Something to work on this year to maybe make us more well-rounded and lethal, hmmm? podunkboy
Starting/Taking Part in a Sign-up Starting a Sign-up Consider the amount of time it will take to run the sign-up. Don't create half a dozen sign-ups and expect to be able to run them all at once. Make it original. Original ideas are going to get more people taking part. Use the Ideas Thread to gauge how popular your sign-up is going to be. Make sure you tell people in your opening post what details you want them to include when signing up. It helps to know the basic attributes and their effects such as CA and PA. Set a public schedule and stick to it. Tell people if you are going away and unable to continue the sign-up during that time. Play a test game to see any problems that could arise. If you require those who sign up to email you, make sure they know how to do so. Be consistent in your style of update. It helps to provide as much information as possible/necessary to help the sign-up thrive. If you intend to abandon the sign-up for whatever reason, tell those who are taking part. Don't leave them in the dark and let the thread die. Taking Part in a Sign-up Post regularly. Tell the sign-up starter if you are going to be away so that they understand why you aren’t posting. Provide all information that the starter asks you for in the initial sign-up form Be appreciative. If the sign-up isn’t very high quality offer suggestions for improvement rather than discrediting the user’s hard work. You may want to private message the starter to offer some advice. The author has the decision on the rules of the sign-up and who they will let sign up. They have the right to reject any user a place in the sign-up and that decision is final. So...I guess I'm abandoning this sign-up/experiment for lack of participation/feedback. No one except G_D_K has weighed in for weeks now, and if no one cares enough to comment, I've got better things to do with my FM time than keeping this updated for an audience of one. And that little rant made me chuckle abit i think the transfer values on this game are a bit messed up maybe next set a transfer fee within the loan It's just "Stirling Stadium", which I don't think is as appealing as "Forthbank Stadium" where we were playing, but at least we've got undersoil heating and the turf won't be all chewed up from pitch-sharing with Stirling University, which was getting first choice of match dates over a Premier League club. What this transfer fee situation means is instead of setting asking price at 3x value for Baker's Dozen, I'm going to set it at 10x value. No one's going anywhere...EVER! podunkboy
Sure, the team gave me $50 million in transfer budget and $750K/wk in salary (and we're only spending $350K/wk right now), but it shouldn't take 2-3 years of transfer budget to sign one player that they were effectively letting me have for almost nothing for a season. I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and pick up one more center back for rotation, but he's going to be young and green and he'll have to learn on-the-job. toonbalmy87
Although Rooney looks very Average to be honest i know hes 33 but you would expect a little bit more from Englands Savior
podunkboy
Thanks for helping break in a new season in Stirling Stadium, St. Mirren: (beat them 5-1) we MIGHT have a little problem with our Champions League draw this season: Look at those full-time player ratings: 400 games as head coach, and yet they're critical about my "reluctance to sign Scottish players" (a couple years ago they were critical because I WOULDN'T sign foreign players). I don't know what they're blathering about a reliance on foreign players, I have 1 players from Denmark, 11 from Scotland, and 3 from England in my senior squad, and a smattering of several other nationalities. podunkboy
Jaya's an Indonesian who got adopted to the Scottish ways no? Deep fried Mars bars and all. He does seem to be adapting well, and very dangerous - one year he'll lead the team in goals, next season, it's assists. And as long as he's producing, we'll keep a deep-fryer in the locker-room and a lifetime supply of Mars bars.
toonbalmy87
Nice Goal in that game for Balmont hopefully there will be a couple of assist's to go with it

podunkboy
Our Champions League odds for the season: McFlynn is Premiership Player of the Month for October: McDonald is Premiership YOUNG Player of the Month for October: And Baker's Coach of the Month for October:
podunkboy
It wouldn't be October (or any other month) without a long-term Balmont injury: let's go to the medical records, shall we? If it wasn't for those Champions League results, our form would be fine: but alas, there will be no deep run in the Champions this season Our mad Hungarian apparently wants to be more like us, and he's not above getting citizenship to do it: Captain Kincaid signs a long-term mega-deal, and his loyalty is rewarded handsomely. I didn't think we NEEDED a fan day, but the board must want to stimulate demand for seats:
toonbalmy87
Not my (Balmont) fault i like a good massage of the lady Physio
G_D_K
Wow...42.5K/wk --- I'm sold. I'm never leaving! Shame on the champions league...but lets grab the rest of the silverware!
podunkboy
Still in the League Cup (although 20-degree F and snow is no way to play football) I don't think I'm going to be on Neil Lennon's Christmas card list any time soon (big loss...) MacT's sticking around now: oh, by the way, our Fan Day finished in a 2-2 tie. We seem to be in our annual pre-holiday slump, seem to be giving up late goals to ties, giving up stupid PK's and fouls that lead to free-kick goals. I know we'll turn it around, but what is it about holidays and playing like we're wearing skirts (NOT kilts...skirts!)
Chao Yang
Its the Scottish winter man. No one wants to score when its -20.
podunkboy
I've only got about 1 million screen-caps and 6 months of results to post, might take me a few days... time to compare everyone's contract terms and length, a favorite game of Scotsmen: Balmont: McDouglas: McFlynn: Zia: Jaya: Unfinished business - eliminated from Champions League, we still win against Inter in the final match:
podunkboy
Out of the Champions, into the Euro Cup: Put in a new tactic to kick things up, thought I'd give a bench player a start - to devastating effect: Continued success in the Scottish Cup, Balmont gets a hat trick: Our mid-season match results: Premiership standings at mid season.
podunkboy
Cowdenbeath's coach got chippy about his chances in the Scottish Cup, so we outshot him 19-1. McFlynn bags a hat trick against Motherwell. Jaya sets a Premier League assist record with 4 months still left in the season: We open with a 2-1 victory at PSV... and close PSV out with a 1-0 win at home Wallace gets his just rewards for 3 more years and it wouldn't be a successful season without a Balmont long-term injury! Stirling sweeps PotM award for February, McFlynn scores 6 in 3 games. Stirling knocks Falkirk from the Scottish Cup with a McFlynn brace. (Falkirk's our main nemesis now, I think) We spread the scoring around against Vitesse in the Euro Cup and then tie them at Vitesse to move on. We take down Hearts in the Scottish Cup to move on and check out that season stats line for Jaya so far...
podunkboy
Euro Cup draws us against Leverkusen, we open 2-1 at home: we lose 3-2 at Leverkusen, but move on through away goals. McFlynn sets a new Stirling goals record We get a youth recruitment upgrade The draw is tough: Liverpool in the Euro Cup semifinal down goes Inverness CT in the Scottish Cup thanks to Jaya and Celtic's waiting for us once again. (As many times as I'm paired with Lennon, you might as well call me McCartney) Liverpool who? and I'm ashamed to say we parked the bus BIG TIME to clinch. We're in the Euro Cup FINAL, boys! Binos rule, Gunners drool! (apologies if you're an Arsenal supporter...) and here we leave you hanging for today...
salzia27
yum yum 6.25 mil and lapse of concentration going unpunished leading us to Europa final Happy for Zia, Hanging for the winners medal I presume
podunkboy
I would take this personally if my assman hadn't now won this award for 3 years running (why won't someone hire him away?) McFlynn picks up the April SPL PotM award. Our U-19's (who I haven't followed very closely because most of the good ones are out on loan) win the U-19 cup. Team Captain Kinkaid...well, he's likely unavailable for the rest of the season now... How about another League Cup to drink some Scottish brown ale? Whoops, that was the semi-final - THIS is the Cup-winner: It's easy to crank off a 36-game League Cup winning streak when you win it 6 years in a row. Two games left in the season, we're tied with Celtic and hold our destiny in our own hands (and check out those League player stats!) (I noticed that the League's reputation's gone up 4 places the last couple years - I think we can take credit for that one...)
