podunkboy
Meaningly pre-season game gets McDonald a few months on the sidelines Take a seat next to him, Mr. McFlynn Last year, I had Scotland in the World Cup final, lose a game to Italy 2-1, and suddenly they're disappointed in my stewardship. Thank GOD Neil Lennon is out of my hair and out of the SPL... I splashed the cash on a fairly-good winger/center mid (and Fernandez wanted to leave, anyway) A new era at Celtic - a world-class coach who doesn't hate me yet. a pretty safe draw in the Champions this season England disrespects McFlynn Bad result in the Super Cup, thanks Kinkaid for getting sent off. but we did get the appeal granted, so I didn't fine him. I should have sold this guy for more money, Madrid doubled their money in one year. A new captain and vice-captain for Scotland

podunkboy
The first rumbles of trouble - Salman Zia's not happy with...anyone. Jaya wants another 5 years of wonderful...his agent has the easiest job in the world, I don't even negotiate the contract. MacTavish wants to remain at Stirling, even if Zia DOESN'T like him. Always nice to remove Falkirk and Gus from the League Cup equation before Christmas. Really don't know what IS the World Club Championship, but they keep putting us in it... and we keep winning it! podunkboy
A decent draw in the first knockout round of the Champions: Vice-captain's back for 5 more years: Scotland't Best 11 of 2024 named - we have 9 present or former Binos on the squad And one player on the World Team of the Year: Scottish Cup progress - same old, same old... and in the League Cup also, and...Balmont pulls his groin again. and...this. podunkboy
just a posting update: Going to try to get us up-to-date over the weekend and next week - I'm currently in May 2026 (15 months ahead). No spoilers here, but let's just say we're having a season for the ages, while simultaneously moving towards a moving-on for some of the residents of Stirling Albion Football Club. If you've seen some of my off-hand mentions in GC forum, let's just say Baker's not happy about some financial negotiations going on between him and the Stirling board, and by the end of the season the 13 members of "The Dozen" will be down to only 10...or less. Also on the immediate horizon, World Cup 2026 in the United States and perhaps Baker's best chance of bringing glory to Scotland. So, after the World Cup and off-season, I'm looking at perhaps one more season of active play/posting, wrap it up in a nice neat bow, and just mess around with FM14 until FM15 rolls out at the end of the year. If anyone's that interested, I might even upload the save for people to poke around in. If you're still actively following the story (and haven't posted a comment for months or anything since you signed up), can you at least give me one final "yeah, I'm here/the story was great/will you trade my player to the Premier League?" So, stay tuned to this space over the next week and we'll try to get it caught up.
podunkboy
Champions knock-out round 2025 Valencia presents no obstacle on the road and we hold them to a tie at our place we knock the Rangers out of the running for the Scottish Cup and Salman Zia demands to be transfer-listed, because he just can't share his toys/spot in the squad (get used to this, he's doing it a lot) Partick Thistle's out of the running for the League Cup, thanks to us we haven't lost a League Cup match in 60 games In Champions Cup, we draw out little German whipping boy, FC Bayern and Celtic has no answer for our awesome in the Scottish Cup and right in the middle of the Cup/Champions season, Jaya decides to pull his hamstring. to get to the Scottish Cup final, we have to go through Gus MacPherson and Falkirk (wear your rubbers)
podunkboy
League Cup final date with Aberdeen at our place Scotland and England have a little trouble in World Cup qualifying (but don't worry, we're good...) Falkirk will NOT be playing for the Scottish Cup this year Our home-and-home against FC Bayern we tie them at Munich... and send them back home with a major stinging heinie. and then...we get the Citizens in the semi-final Somehow I lost the 2-1 Man City victory at their place, but they held for a tie at Stirling Stadium and showed us the boot Isn't it funny when someone asks for a transfer, no one wants them, and then they send the assman in to demand action or "they'll take things further"? What are you going to do, stink up the bench like you were stinking up the field? Got our midfield tied up for a few more years: League Cup final...never get tired of these results
podunkboy
C'mon Jaya, share the PotM love... I simply can't respect Falkirk's Gus MacPherson, the cranky old feeb. and oh, yeah, we needed this one to finally clinch the Premiership this year (it was brutal...) each season Kinkaid lives the dream of many a supporter... Teron's so happy he wants 5 more years a couple Player of the Year awards: the wingers drive the Stirling engine. SPL team of the Year holds 5 spots open for Stirling A relentless and brutal Scottish Cup final game against Motherwell 4 cups in a year (one for every season) and Balmont's come down with a whole new injury/condition... podunkboy
End of Season 2025 See how close we were to giving Celtic the title? Sorted by appearances, added a "all time team goals" and "international caps" column Can't get me a decent-paying contract, but I got goodies for the team: going on the road and down the street to Tynecastle for 11 months why wouldn't you want to play here with our level of facilities? Scotland can't seem to buy an U21 coach - job's been listed since I left it, no one applies, and unemployed coaches won't take it when offered. The Stirling Fan's Player of the Year is...NOT Jaya for once. Best Eleven for the year And...something I'm really proud of, almost as good as winning a Champions Cup:

podunkboy
Still no love for the captain (although I'm almost SURE he's at #6 in jersey sales) Didn't want to let our back-up GK go, but the offer was too good to pass up, and he was never going to be happy as a back-up (since both he and McDouglas had similar PA's) and then McDouglas goes down for 3 weeks and I had to scramble to pick up another back-up. now the 24th-richest club in the world (and I still can't get a decent contract) and I think Kinkaid's going to retire at Stirling: Poor Vroom, money and fame just can't keep him happy. but you can wish in one hand, and cut bait in the other hand, and see...er, I forget the proper phrase. Oh, and Salman Zia wants a new challenge and is worried that time is running out on a transfer sale (he should talk to Vroom about how that turns out...) I forgot this guy was once part of the team, he gets sold, and we get a nice chunk of change. Oh, he had ONE appearance for us, sold him to Wolfsburg for $6 million, now he sold for $36 million. podunkboy
Another run of World Cup qualifying for England and Scotland: England: Georgia doesn't get a shot off. podunkboy
we were rumored to be interested... and we could have bought him back for nearly what Wigan paid for him when he initially left, but he still would have ended up behind Jaya, and it's better for his selection to the Scotland squad if he's not a Bino. World Cup 2026 in the USA - the group draws: Wow, and I thought the games in Qatar were going to be hot... We won our Champions group stage (I didn't post all the game results, but they're on Steam if you're that interested) Jaya the Destroyer goes down hard for a long long time... So angry - the club wants to extend my contract for all the good and hard work I've done... that's right - a 4 1/2 year extension...$100 dollars more a week, no yearly raise, no clauses. the most I can ask for: $11250, for a coach with world-wide reputation and a club that's richest in Scotland and they withdraw from talks, because they can't pay me as much as 3 staff and 4 of our scouts

Nothing like clinching the championship the first week of March. aw shucks, little 'ol me again? Continuing our quest for a Scottish League cup... Wolfsburg wasn't much of a challenge on the second leg. Sure, give us Barca Just manage a draw at home... podunkboy
Man, that injury really messed up my season stats... Any signs of Jaya deteriorating yet, stats wise? I'm at mid-season of the following year, I'll try to screen-capture the attributes page for everyone and put them up after I work my big long weekend shifts (as far as I've observed, there's no real deterioration except an increase of physical exhaustion - I'm having to send everyone on a couple vacations a season.) And even though the Dozen are approaching 29, they're still renewing contracts for 5 years, although we did have one retirement from International play already. podunkboy
I screen-capped the four of us who are still actively interested (anyone else, speak up and I'll include you in the "actively interested" group and take a picture of you): From January 2027: Jaya Balmont Wallace Kinkaid (I hope by FM15 the game generates player pics for all players edited into a database, I've never been happy that we can't see the faces of the dozen - have to make do with their tiny little depictions on the pitch)

podunkboy
Yeah that annoys me aswell not seeing a face its same as not seeing badges or anything i cant play the game without pictures. Wey Player of the Season..... Blamont's stats look pretty good actually also how any seasons do you think you will keep going for ?? well, I had said I was going to play to end of June, 2028 (in-game of course) (because I was mad at Stirling's boss for not giving me a better raise, I was going to go for a EPL job and see what the next manager would do to manager the Dozen), but I don't think I can walk away. Certainly no one's coming in with a job (I FM Genie'd Baker's profile and he's got a 9998 out of 10000 reputation, so I imagine everyone thinks he wouldn't move). I figure since 10 of the 13 are still at-club and we're still winning nearly everything, why would I stop playing. Would I like the people who signed up for this to actually participate in the discussion... yeah,it'd be nice, and it's why I'm not sure I'm going to bother running another sign-up, because 75% of the people who submitted a player have never checked back to acknowledge the progression of their player. (rant over) So, unless my wife divorces me over my near-constant FM play, I'll probably continue it on until FM15 comes out (and after the first couple patches go through and the price drops). podunkboy
Scotland opens against Morocco at the World's 8th Wonder, Cowboy Stadium in Dallas... podunkboy
Unfortunately, despite a goal from Stirling's Nathan Redmond, England's dream comes to an abrupt end. podunkboy
Scotland has a new caps leader McFlynn has a new contract Apologies on the sparseness of the early 2026-2027 season, nothing much was going on, so I found myself in the knockout rounds of the Champions before I took screen shots. knockout pairings for the Champions Scotland's Best 11 for our World Cup Champions year World team of the year only has one Stirling player I bought Ilso back from Motherwell after a couple years, and got a rebate for selling him there and back again. podunkboy
How about some Cups progress? Tight one against Motherwell, Jaya was out for a month... Balmont snags a brace, MacDonald (a Stirling youth product) gets a hat trick. Balmont gets another brace, Kinkaid gets the "latest early shower" ever (after we score two in extra time, he gets red-carded 30 seconds from the end of the game...) Josh Crane's brace takes out the Gunners. Champion's quarter-finals match us against PSG. National news, San Marino can't match Scotland for firepower, lose 7-1... Alloa (one of our first rivals back in the day) can't match us now, lose 4-0. Year after year, I feel sorry for ICT, they will never get one over on us... podunkboy
Hmmm, output dropping slightly, any obvious drop in performance from the lads? to be honest, I think the overall improvement in the squad has resulted in a evening-out of performance. No one's breaking out with a significant performance, but performance ratings are excellent overall. We're finally a team, not just a bunch of superstuds and their support staff. podunkboy
I reach a kilo-game...couldn't have done it without you all... Iain McRuaridh's owner doesn't look in anymore, but I thought I'd check on his progress - decent assist man for Atalanta, probably regrets becoming the Faroe Island's best known player, though. (Actually, I think he's the F.I. captain...) Fan's Player of the Year for Stirling is... Best 11 for the year, and the pick of the litter isn't a Dozen'er... MacT nets a brace for Scotland in the Euro Championship qualfiers against Poland and follows with a hat trick in the first 15 minutes of the Moldova game. and Stirling's now only the 2nd-ranked European team... podunkboy
annual merchandising figures and jersey sales... I didn't set these up, the assman must have - the first two Testimonials for two of the dozen: Cagliari comes in for the McDouglas testimonial: and Dinamo for MacTavish's testimonial: testimonial results: for McDouglas, he shuts out Cagliari, MacT scores one... Stirling and MacT go off on Dinamo like Dynamite, 5-2. Kinkaid plays like it's a cup match, not a friendly, breaks his arm, out 5-6 weeks. MacT is so touched by the sacrifice that he signs for 4 more years. Felix Vroom, looking for a change of scenery from Juventus, gets a bid from Crystal Palace... but somehow, ends up in the SPL at a neighboring club. (glad to see this, we'll play against him and Salman Zia 2-3 times a year, they'll be "home Scots" for national selection...) here's Vroom's current attributes, I think the trips to Wigan and Juventus set him back. podunkboy
the 2030 World Cup Qualifying has been drawn, I think Scotland got the easiest draw possible: and England should easily move on, even with Czech Republic and Russia in their group. and Stirling's looking very good in the Champion's Cup group draw. Josh Crane wants 4 more years of me... and...there's rumbles of a consortium takeover of Stirling Albion on the horizon (maybe THEY'LL give me a better contract...). So, that's basically it, the updates are caught up (1,653 screenshots in the can) we're currently in August 2027, Stirling's top of the table, Scotland's dropped to 4th in the world rankings, I'm juggling a 30-man 1st-team squad (I could build two league-winning squads with the overflow in the reserves and U-19's.) Now, when my DoF signs a young prospect, I get 4-6 loan offers from teams in the SPL and Scottish Championship, because they can't afford to buy these prospects, but they can afford to loan them. I am thinking about dumping our business feeder club in America (Dallas FC), they won't play the mandated yearly friendly (which would boost our marketing in the US), but they sure will take our $3.8 million every year to be associated with us. Our loan feeder (AS Nancy Lorraine) rushes in every year and wants to snatch up our 4 star prospects for loan(for free), but even though they're limited to two players a season, they keep trying to loan additional players (which get rejected). But...life is good. Since the original intent of the experiment/sign-up was to remain until all 13 players leave the club or retire...I'm going to be here for at least 3-4 more seasons, unless the consortium comes in and fires me or one of the top 4 EPL teams comes and offers me a job. If the club keeps building on additional seating, one day we're going to have a Celtic Park-sized field.

podunkboy
Is the 2030 World Cup going to be the last one for the Dozen or have most of them international retired? so far, the only retire has been Kinkaid, McFlynn doesn't seem to be getting call-ups anymore for England, but any of those eligible for Scotland make the squad each time. (The press complains every time, but I'd much rather have a squad where 1/2 the players are already playing the system than 23 guys who see each other a few days a year.) The European Championships are coming up, so I'd expect some to maybe drop out of internationals after that, but I'm hoping to hold them together for the 2030 Cup. McRuaridh will probably continue playing for the Faroe Islands, he's captain and they need him. In any event, I'm not going to urge them to retire from internationals, I need them. When they retire from internationals, I'll step down as Scotland's boss.
