Back from a nightmare week. Thought you'd have gone further than this, Mr Tuck :D

Good start so far! Are you happy with the squad you have or are you looking for make further changes?

Have more to update over the next few days, just had a busy week. :p

I'm delighted with the squad on the whole. Got a great spread of ages in the first team and some cracking younger who will certainly be progredsing at the club.

Just caught up on this thread. well done on the cup wins at Spurs. Hopefully you can once again make Bayern the dominant force that they are in this day and age.

Pfft, you should be checking in more often. :(

Thanks for the congratulatory words regarding the trophies at Tottenham.

Bayern will be a force again, just reckon Guardiola let the squad grow a bit stale with having so many fantastic players over the years. One Bundesluga title and one Champions League in the last four seasons is pitiful.

Bruno Gama's Management Career - November/December 2022 - Bayern Munich

Bundesliga

November

CareerSave-BayernLgeFixtures-Nov2022_zps22f1c03f.png

A very difficult month as we won just one of three matches.

Schalke just sat deep and frustrated the hell out of us, barely looking for a win. We had the chances, but couldn't convert. The Leverkusen game got off to a terrible start when we fell behind in just the third minute. Once again we had the chances to win it, but Leverkusen battled well just looking to cling on, and so they managed. We bounced back at the end of the month however with a 4-0 win at home to Dusseldorf, Thomas Muller grabbing a brace.

December

CareerSave-BayernLgeFixtures-Dec2022_zpscd5e16f3.png

CareerSave-BayernLgeTable-Nov-Dec2022_zpsc6054caf.png

Three wins from three, but our defending needs some work.

Hoffenheim took the lead after just a couple of minutes against us, but we roared back just two minutes later to level it at 1-1. We then charged into a 3-1 lead before the break, but Hoffenheim hit back at us early in the second period. They pushed for an equaliser, but we restored the two goal lead with eighteen minutes to go when Joao Pedro slotted home from the spot. Nurnberg were then put to the sword, but again it was annoying that we got 3-0 up and conceded a late consolation. We rounded off the month, and the year, with another 4-2 win, this time against Stuttgart. It was another ding-dong game as we went 2-0 up, then 4-1, but both times made things uncomfortable for ourselves by conceding sloppy goals.

Four points clear going into the winter break, but Dortmund have two games in hand.

Champions League - Group Stage

November

CareerSave-BayernCLFixtures-Nov2022_zps2c80aa4f.png

Four points from two games to seal qualification for the 1st knockout round.

We really didn't perform well away to Celtic, and they took a deserved point. Just five minutes before the break we went a goal up, but Celtic pegged us back immediately. In the second half they really pressed us and we were quite fortunate to get a draw. We got back to winning ways against Lyon though with a terrific performance. We were 3-0 to the good by halftime thanks to Robert Lewandowski, Joao Pedro, and Jackson before Lewandowski added another late on.

December

CareerSave-BayernCLFixtures-Dec2022_zps5ff141da.png

CareerSave-BayernCLTable-Dec2022_zps6822f82e.png

A few changes made for our final game, even though we had to atleast draw to secure top spot in the the group, and a fine win. Youngsters Gunther Lange and Pascal Bieler both got on the scoresheet, the latter becoming the clubs youngest ever goal scorer. Veteran Thomas Muller secured the win from the penalty spot.

So we topped the group and therefore were top seeds in the draw for the 1st knockout round. We drew Udinese, which Im happy enough with as it could have been much tougher.

DFB-Pokal - 3rd Round (November)

CareerSave-BayernDFBPokalFixtures-Nov2022_zpsf78d4223.png

A very good performance to see us through to the quarter finals. We took an early lead, but Gladbach soon pegged us back despite us being on the front foot. We kept up that pressure and with a little under twenty minutes to go we went back infront through Cesare Scarchilli. Gladbach rallied, but just two minutes from time Joao Pedro wrapped up the win on the counter.

In the quarter finals we face Werder Bremen at home.

Bruno Gama's Management Career - January 2023 - Bayern Munich

Midseason Friendly

CareerSave-BayernMidseasonFriendly-Jan2023_zps539ddebc.png

After four weeks off for the winter break already and another two weeks until our next competitve game, I thought playing a friendly might be a good idea. Especially when Shenua offered me £300,000 for the pleasure! Hopefully the game will help with some merchandise sales, and we'll be going there for a wee tour whenever possible, be it in the summer of the middle of next season.

As for the game, good workout and we got the legs going again prior to resuming our push for the title.

Bundesliga

CareerSave-BayernLgeFixtures-Jan2023_zps4dd86edc.png

CareerSave-BayernLgeTable-Jan2023_zps1bef188f.png

Just the one game at the end of January, and we got back into the swing of things after thw winter break with a 3-0 win. We got off to a flying start as Toni Kroos hit two goals in the opening two minutes. From there it was just a case of making sure we controlled the game, and we did that awell as adding a third before the break through Thomas Muller.

Up next we have a huge game away at Dortmund.

Transfers

Just the one move this summer, and it was a young man brought in to join our under 19's as we look to develop him for the future;

Miguel Chagas[/b]

He cost just £900k from one of my old clubs Benfica and could turn into an excellent player. Ignore the three star rating, my coaches believe he could become a "leading Bundesliga midfielder" in the future.

Typical that you only ever get that sort of assistance when you don't need it. My one and only tycoon takeover came when I already had the best side in the world and 450M in the bank (and making plenty more each year) :D

Bruno Gama's Management Career - February 2023 - Bayern Munich

Bundesliga

CareerSave-BayernLgeFixtures-Feb2023_zps851c3c93.png

CareerSave-BayernLgeTable-Feb2023_zps1d30aa48.png

A really good month that has put us in a commanding position at the top of the league.

We kicked things off with a cracking win away at Dortmund. Playing on the counter, we tore through them at every opportunity, and just before halftime we took the lead whn Joao Pedro slipped Miguel Angel Ferreras through who slotted home. Just after the hour Pedro himself rattled home from range to make it 2-0! Late on Dortmund got a goal back but we held on to the three points. Köln then came to town and took a point off us after we failed to break down their brick wall. Three days later we got back to winning ways away at Wolfsburg thanks a sole strike from Robert Lewandowski. A terrific comeback followed at Gladbach after we fell behind very early on - veterans Lewandowski and Thomas Muller getting our goals. Freiburg were then put to the sword 3-0, with two early goals helping us on our way. A really poor performance against Hamburg followed, but Gregorz Gorski got two goals either side of a Hamburg strike to give us a slender 2-1 victory.

A trip to Frankfurt is up next.

DFB-Pokal - Quarter Final

CareerSave-BayernDFBPokalFixtures-Feb2023_zpsf2966389.png

A bit of a changed team as usual, but a great performance. Young Gunther Lange gave us a great start after just ten minutes, but Werder soon pegged us back. On the stroke of halftime, Brazilian Schumacher put us back infront with a stunning strike from range. The second half was totally dominated by us, and late on we wrapped it up through Miguel Angel Ferreras.

In the semi-final we face Freiburg.

Champions League - 1st KO Round 1st Leg

CareerSave-BayernCLFixtures-Feb2023_zpsc8dba209.png

Not a great performance, but a very decent result. Udinese took the lead very early and were well on top in the opening stages. Thomas Muller equalised just before halftime, and in truth either side could have won it in the second period. The draw was just about right.

We head into the second leg knowing we are in a very good position to qualify for the quarter finals.

Going strong in the league. Dortmund doing their best to keep with the pace.

Out of interest how are Spurs getting on, or will we have to wait until the end of the season for that?

Spurs are doing ok but are only challening for the top four, and should make it. However they are very far off the pace in the title race. Then again, most sides are as Manchester City have just blown everyone away.

Bruno Gama's Management Career - March 2023 - Bayern Munich

Bundesliga

CareerSave-BayernLgeFixtures-Mar2023_zps7db432fd.png

CareerSave-BayernLgeTable-Mar2023_zpsabf89e51.png

The fotball wasn't stunning, but three wins from three have maintained our five point lead at the top and now Dortmund have no games in hand.

For an hour Frankfurt really put up a fight against us, but when the first goal came the second soon followed. They got a late consolation, but we held on for a 2-1 win and a good three points. Mainz, who gave us our first defeat of the season, again proved to be a very tough opposition. They battled all the way and we only won thanks to a bit of magic late on from Joao Pedro. It was the same story away at Bochum as we rounded off the month with a 1-0 win. The bus was well and truly parked, and we struggled to get past them. With just over twenty minutes to go however Thomas Muller grabbed what proved to be the winner from close range.

Some unconvincing but valuable wins, and we are well on track for the title. Werder Bremen come to the Allianz Arena next.

Champions League - 1st KO Round 2nd Leg

CareerSave-BayernCLFixtures-Mar2023_zps9ba99343.png

A hugely frustrating as our defensive frailties were once again exposed. We scored two in two minutes to take control of things after eight minutes, but then we sat back a bit and Udinese got back into it. Another two goals in a short space of time put us 4-1 to the goos at halftime. Udinese scored in the opening minute of the second half, but that was the goalscoing finished with and we saw it out 4-2, 5-3 on aggregate.

The next round draw has been pretty kind to us.

Would have liked to have seen you draw Spurs, but that's a kind draw for you. Stuttgart doing well, despite their poor form in the league.

They actually knocked out Benfica in the last round did Tottenham, 6-2 on aggregate.

As for Stuttgart, they're really having a 'mare this campaign despite their good Champions League performance. Have been top four the last three years in the league, even winning it a couple of years ago.

Bundesliga

CareerSave-BayernLgeFixtures-Apr2023_zps37409b7a.png

CareerSave-BayernLgeTable-Apr2023_zps950ed4d8.png

Would normally be thrilled with four wins from five, but that draw just makes things a little bit tetchy going into our final two games.

The month started with a poor performance against Werder Bremen, but we got away with the display thanks to a penalty from Joao Pedro. A terrific 2-0 win at Schalke followed, even if we had to rely on two strikes from defender Arthur to give us the points. Another big win followed when Leverkusen came to town, and we put them to the sword 3-1. We had the perfect start when we won a penalty in the fifth minute, which Joao Pedro tucked home. Before the half-hur mark Christian Machuca got a second and Pedro added a third before halftime. We saw out the second half, the only blot on the copy book coming in the 80th minute when Leverkusen pulled one back. We then travelled to Hoffenheim, and it was back to our early season form with plenty of goals scored and also the concession of some. We fell behind in the opening minutes, but some responded to level it up. We went ahead early on btu were soon pegged back. On the stroke of halftime we went back ahead though. Within four minutes of the second half we were 4-1 up when Lewandowski completed his hattrick and Thomas Muller got in on the attack. We conceded sloppily late on, but it finished 4-2. The month finished with a poor 0-0 draw against Nurnberg, but the side was a bit patched up coming in the middle of tough European games.

We still have it in our hands, though it won't be easy. We have to play our game in hand just two days after a European game and then the final game of the season just three days later. Fatigue may be an issue.

DFB-Pokal - Semi-Final

CareerSave-BayernDFBPokalFixtures-Apr2023_zpsaf5f26df.png

Not a vintage performance, but we're through to the final all the same. Veteran Thomas Muller scored a stunner to put us ahead nine minutes before the break, and then his cross led to an own goal just after the hour mark to wrap up a 2-0 win.

In the final we face Nurnberg.

Champions League - Quarter Finals & Semi-Final 1st Leg

CareerSave-BayernCLFixtures-Apr2023_zps703b40ea.png

Well we're in the semi-finals, but we have a job to overturn City in the second leg.

We were brilliant in the quarter finals agianst Stuttgart, starting with a very sound 1-0 win away from home in the first leg. In the second leg we simply tore through them in the first half, going into the break 4-0 to the good. We added a fifth late on to complete a 6-0 aggregate win. In the semis we got such a tough draw. City had already colledcted the Premier League title by the time we played the first leg, and you could tell. We weren't at our best and couldn't have complained had they got two or three, but it was just the one and we're still well in it.

It is going to be squeaky bum as Dortmund just won't let up.

They have been on a great run of form. Since we beat them at the start of February they've won fourteen out of sixteen games. They've been scoring for fun in that run aswell, hitting three or more goals eleven times, including an 11-0 away win.

Shades of a run Porto went on to take the title off us when I was at Benfica - just as Dortmund have been peaking we've been stuttering. :(

DFB-Pokal Final

How We Got To The Final

CareerSave-BayernRunToDFB-PokalFinal-May2023_zpsa2e5807a.png

We didn't make as easy as we could getting through to the final, but we got the job done. I often rotated the side, but even so some of the performances werent really up to scratch. We were hugely fortunate against Frankfurt in the second round to win on penalties, but delightfully authorative in the next round against Gladbach. We did play well in the semi-final against Freiburg which was pleasing as it came in the middle of some tough league and European fixtures.

The Final

vs. Nürnberg

We have a week to prepare for the Champions League Final, so no worries about having to rest players etc. The only absentee is David Alaba, who is also likely to miss the Champions League Final, meaning that young Steffen Bittroff would come into the side. Christian Machuca is also a bit of a problem and will be available but only via a course of injections. However I left him out, keeping for the Champions League.

CareerSave-DFB-PokalFinalvsNurnberg-May2023_zps80c7c8b8.png

Match Stats

Well we weren't at ur best, but the first tophy of my reign is secure.

We dominated for the most part but failed to find the back of the net for a long while. With twenty-three minutes to go we finally got the breakthrough thanks to a little bit of magic from Joao Pedro as he took on three men before slotting home. As Nürnberg pressd late on for an equaliser we could have added more, but I was just happy to secure the trophy.

Champions League Final

How We Got To The Final

Group Stage

CareerSave-CLGroupGames-May2023_zpse6c91f6d.png

CareerSave-BayernCLTable-Dec2022_zps6822f82e.png

A pretty strange group stage in the fact that we struggled in two games I thought we'd win fairly easily against Celtic and won the four I imagined been more difficult against Zenit and Lyon with ease. Was pleased that we notched sixteen goals, but disappointed we conceded six, keeping just the one cleansheet.

Knockout Stage

CareerSave-CLKOGames-May2023_zps42fb709d.png

Was pleased to get drawn against Udinese in the first knockout round, but our performances really weren't the best. We got a bit of a mullering in the first leg, and won a ding-dong encounter in the second to take it 5-3 on aggregate. We were superb against VFB Stuttgart in the quarter finals. thumping them 6-0 on aggregate, the second leg one of our finest performances of the season. And as for the semi-final, well what can you say? Battered in the first leg yet somehow only losing 1-0, we had a job on our hands in the second leg and looked like doing it superbly. We were 2-0 up minutes to go and heading through on aggregate, but City scored a crucial away goal. However, we won a stoppage time penalty and Lewandowski scored it to win it 3-1 on the night, 3-2 on aggregate.

Current Champions League holders, Borussia Dortmund, would be our opponents in the Wembley showpiece.

Team News

David Alaba didn't quite make it in time for the match. I could have risked him, but decided to go again with youngster Steffen Bittroff. Christian Machuca aswell wasn't fit enough, despite his course of injections in an attempt to get fit. Javi Martinez was preferred in defensive midfield ahead of Grzegorz Gorski, and Thiago was left on the bench instead of Cesare Scarchilli. Robert Lewandoski kept his place despite a poor performance in the domestic cup final ahead of Thomas Muller. Eighteen year old centreback came into the side instead of the experienced Holger Badstuber.

The Final

vs. Borussia Dortmund

CareerSave-CLFinalvsDortmund-May2023_zps9dc8ae3a.png

Match Stats.

A very sweet victory, and just a bit of revenge for the way the league campaign finished.

We really didn't start well, (indeed Dortmund had eight attempts in the opening twenty minutes or so!), and we fell behind just after the halfhour mark when we caught out playing the ball out from the back. We then lost Cesare Scarchilli to a knock, but we were soon level when that man Joao Pedro produced yet another bit of magic when it mattered. The game was even from there, though Dortmund created more chances and we had more of the possession. The teams couldn't be settled and into extra time it went. The breakthrough finally came ten minutes into extra time when substitute Thomas Muller was fouled in the box. He picked himself up off the deck and slotted the penalty home. We sealed the win ten minutes from time when another sub, Grzegorz Gorski, slotted home after a Dortmund failed to clear a freekick from Thiago.

A great victory against an outstanding side. I'm thrilled.

Bundesliga

CareerSave-BayernLgeFixtures-May2023_zps5947b3d7.png

CareerSave-BayernLgeTable-May2023_zpsd86cec37.png

A complete an utter disaster. Two 1-0 defeats let Dortmund snatch the title.

The Dusseldorf game was really tough. It came just two days after the Champions League semi-final 2nd leg against Man City and we had a very tired squad. We fell behind early in the first half and just couldn't find an equaliser. Yes players didn't perform well, but fatigue was the biggest factor. We still went into the final day of the season at home to Stuttgart knowing a win would secure us the title, but again we had fatigue issues. The absurd late season schedule was still taking it's toll and I wasn't at all surpried at the defeat.

It was gutting, but credit to Dortmund, they had a great second half of the season.

DFB-Pokal - Final

CareerSave-BayernDFBPokalFixtures-May2023_zps40f00817.png

This was my first trophy in charge of Bayern, but it wasn't the best performance. We had had two weeks off since the end of the league campaign, but the players were still hurting. Thankfully we came through the game to lift the trophy, following a 1-0 win, and more importantly morale was lifted ahead of the Champions League Final.

Champions League - Semi-Final 2nd Leg & Final

CareerSave-BayernCLFixtures-May2023_zpse34964cf.png

Well this was just superb.

We went into the 2nd leg of the semi a goal down from the first leg, but we were coasting at halftime thanks to a penalty from Robert Lewandowski and anther from Joao Pedro. We couldnt add to it hough, and in the 88th minute City scored and were seemingly heading through on away goals. In stoppage time though we won another penalty, and Robert Lewandowski tucked it away to send us through to the final!

The final was against domestic rivals Borussia Dortmund, and it's fair to say that revenge was on my mind after they pipped us to the title. They went ahead just after the halfhour but we soon equalised. The game eventually went to extra time, and a penalty from Thomas Muller and a third from Grzegorz Gorski gave us a 3-1 win and we deservedly lifted the trophy.

Would have been good but nothing left then is there? Atleast now you have a goal and something to aim for :)

Superb first season Tom. Heart breaking in the league though, although given Dortmund's form of late you can't begrudge them the title.

You're right there, they were simply stunning after we'd beat them back in February. Just one of those things. Happened at Benfica and we bounced back to win it the next season, hopefully we can do the same.

Bruno Gama's Management Career - Season Review 2022/23 - Bayern Munich

Bundesliga

Results 1 - Results 2

Final Table (2nd - Champions League Qualification)

Hugely disappointing to finish in second place given we were well in charge for most of the campaign. The first half of the season went really well in one obvious aspect; we scored goals for fun. I was however very disappointed with amount we conceded, so come the second half of the season I tightened things up and it was all going swinningly. That was until the end of April We took just one point from our final three games and Dortmund snatched the title. Can't complain, they had an amazing run winning fifteen of their seventeen games in the second half of the campaign, scoring 57 goals in the process - they were worthy Champions.

DFB-Pokal

Winners

Was pleased to win this, as much as anything because the final came a week before the Champions League Final and it was good for morale. Throughout the competition I rested and rotated players, and you could tell by some of the performances. We didn't play well in the final, but we managed to nick it 1-0.

Champions League

Winners

Well this was superb, if not a bit frustrating at times. We conceded plenty of goals at times which was a bit concern - we should never have been conceding six goals in the group we had. Again, we should never have been conceding three goals over two games against Udinese. From the Udinses tie onwards we were superb. We totoally dismantled Stuttgart over two legs, and despite a bit of a ropey first leg of the semi against Man City, were were awesome in the second leg, even if we did have to rely on a 91st minute penalty to make it though to the final.

Yes we didn't win the final until after extra time against Dortmund, but with the exception of the opening half an hour we were very goos. João Pedro against stepped up for me in a final, and legend Thomas Muller held his nerve to score a crucial penalty in extra time. In the end we ran out 3-1 winners.

Other Info

Squad Stats - Transfers - Finances

(Transfer above the red line(s) occured before I joined the club).

So difficult to choose my top three players from the squad this season as we had so many great performances. Lewandowski for example was marvellous, directly contributing to 30 goals in 32 appearances. Another old boy, Thomas Muller, also had a very good season. In fact all the older players were good. The younger blood needs to start coming into it more though.

A huge outlay in transfer fee's, but an awful lot brought back into the club aswell. Don't expect quite the same to happen this season.

Frankly there is no point even mentioning the finances; they are utterly ridiculous.

Top 3 Players

João Pedro

Fair enough ten of his goals were penalties, but still 35 goals in 45 appearances is brilliant. Top goalscorer in the Bundesliga and nine goals in the Champions League. My little master rolls on.

Cesare Scarchilli

An assist machine, if he could add more goals to his game he'd be a real star. Lord knows how he has yet to be capped by the full German National side.

David Alaba

So consistent at leftback. Was very disappointed that he missed the two finals at the end of the season through injury, he didn't deserve that.

What Next

Win the league next season. The summer shouldn't be too interesting but I know one or two will be leaving.

Another nothing season in the Championship as they just hung around midtable all the season. Superb stuff in the cups though. They were evetually stopped in the League Cup by Arsenal and Chelsea in the FA Cup. Need to put that cup form into the league though.

A repeat of the 2020/21 season as they won the domestic treble. For a second season in a row they finished the league season on 80pts. Disappointment in the Champions League as they were hammered 6-2 by Tottenham in 1st Knockout Round.

Not a great season in the league as they finished eighteen points worse off than last season and only confirmed their Champions League place on the final day of the season. They did however win the FA Cup, beating Fulham 1-0 in the final, and also made it to the Champions League quarter finals before being knocked out by Dortmund. Not a bad debut season for Remi Garde.

Bruno Gama's Management Career - Season Preview - 2023/24 - Bayern Munich

Board Expectations

Bundesliga - Challenge for the title

DFB-Pokal - Not Important

Champions League - Reach the semi-finals

DFL-Super Cup - Not Important

UEFA Super Cup - Win it

Personal Expectations

Bundesliga - One title in five years is pathetic - win it

DFB-Pokal - Blood the youngsters

Champions League - Attempt to retain it

DFL-Super Cup - vs. Dortmund, so put down a marker

UEFA Super Cup - Win it, simply because it's against Real Madrid

The board have scaled back their expecrations this term, but I have upped mine. As it says above, for this club to win just one title in five years simply isn't good enough. We must reclaim, and also stop Dortmund winning three in a row! The domestic cup will take a backseat and the young players will be given every chance, and the Champions League will be tough to retain, but we'll give it a go.

Budgets

Transfer: £186,549,688

Wages: £4,825,593 p/w (Currently spending £2,018,037)

Balance: £633,786,623 (+£58,605,731)

You think that transfer budget is big? Just imagine what it would have been had I selected "Title Winner" as my season expectations!! On a nother note, glad to see we've cut wage expenditure by just over £200,000 p/w since I joined the club.
