I know what I want for christmas this year :cool:

The trouble is santa has a lot of presents to deliver and he is having to use last years sledge. But yes, when it comes it will be worth it! Merry Xmas! :cool:

For those of you who haven't been checking out the project page on FMUpdates for this release, there has been a lot of activity today. We have now passed the hurdle of all the failed changes and are now working on competition rules, formats and also a framework for a possible Level 9 expansion. We're getting much closer to being able to start testing the file!

Also, a quick note: Grays Athletic are playing their home games this season on Rush Green Stadium from Havering (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grays_Athletic_FC). In the oficial SI database their stadium is still East Thurrock's Rookery Hill. I hope you'll make this change in your database as my Grays Athletic stadium picture from the pack is of Rush Green Stadium (West Ham United's reserve stadium).

I only just noticed this. Things like that need to go in the data issues section. I have posted that issue here

First test completed!

There's a few problems to solve which relate to cup round dates for the Regional League Cups and Incorrect Teams for County FA Cups. Cup dates won't take long to fix. The incorrect number of teams in the cups will take a little longer. Previously these teams had their second division as a created fake competition. I have tested a different way of getting the teams and it works without the need for any created competitions. I'll be implementing the same method for the rest of the cups.

Once that is done there will be one more test to ensure long term stability, and without any further issues we could release on Christmas Eve.

However as part of the full release you will be able to change which team enters the county cup. All you will need to do is load the file into the editor, go to Registered Teams for the cup competition and type in Info either 0 for Reserve Team and 1 for First Team.

I'll try my best to package together a release without the county cups. AFAIK this is working with no problems so I just need to test how it works.

v7.0 IS NOW AVAILABLE!

This release is currently only available in one version which does not include County FA Cups.

Version 7.0 for FM2013 Default Database ONLY *WITH COUNTY CUPS DISABLED* - DOWNLOAD HERE***By downloading this file you agree not to re-release it or host it in its original form, or in any edited form, without first seeking and obtaining our express prior permission - this includes redistribution of this file in 'Megapacks'***

Version 7.0 is compatible with the FM2013 Default Database (13.0.0) and the latest FM2013 Version (13.2.1) only. Later versions will not be supported until tested, however minor versions should work.

See the bottom of this post for the complete changelist.

EEE **PLEASE READ & FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS**

1. Extract the .dbc file "v7.0 FMUpdates FM2013 EEE - England, Enhanced, Expanded" to the Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2013\editor data folder in your My Documents (PC) / Documents (MAC) folder. If there is no 'editor data' folder then please create one and copy the folder into it. Alternatively if you have changed the location of your game files (e.g. for backup purposes like using Dropbox) use the editor data folder in that directory instead.

2. Load FM2013 and Start A New Game

3. In the dialog window that pops up, TICK the change box.

4. Select the LATEST file (v7.0) in the list, if not already. Deselect ALL OLD VERSIONS!

5. Start a new game as normal, selecting FM2013 default database and select either Level 7 (English Regional Premier Divisions) or Level 8 (English Regional First Divisions) as the lowest active league.

6. Select 'Add Key Staff' and 'Add Key Players to Active Teams'.

7. Ensure 'Use Real Fixtures When Available' is ticked if you would like real fixtures in your game.

This file is not saved game compatible and requires a new game to be started.

You may experience issues because you are loading other editor .xml or .dbc files that are causing a conflict. If you are having problems then please:

1. Delete everything in the 'editor data' folder.

2. Download the latest v7.0 file

3. Extract the .dbc "v7.0 FMUpdates FM2013 EEE - England, Enhanced, Expanded" file to the 'editor data' folder

4. Start a new game as per the league activation instructions

Media Instructions

Thanks to daniellewis_789 for allowing us to include his excellent media update in our release, including an exclusive media update for the new competitions added as part of our league expansion.

1. Extract the .dbc file "British Journalists & Media v8.0" to the Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2013\editor data folder in your My Documents (PC) / Documents (MAC) folder. If there is no 'editor data' folder then please create one and copy the folder into it. FAQ

* Can you explain the English Non-league system?

The BBC Sport website has an excellent guide to how the English non-league system operates - LINK

This file includes levels 1 to 8 activated, which is down to step 4 in the English Non-League pyramid:

* Why is my team in the Northern Premier League, shouldn't they be in the Isthmian League?

One of the quirks of the English non league steps is how much change there is every season. This all depends on which teams are selected for promotion from Level 9 that may not easily fit into the regional geography of Levels 7 and 8. For Football Manager this is a problem as whilst rules have been set for each league and the vast majority of teams, unfortunately you can't programme common sense into the data editor. On the rare occasion you may find a team sorted into the wrong division, be rest assured that when the first opportunity arises to place them back into their correct division the game will sort them correctly.

* Why do I need to add All Key Staff?

I recommend you tick 'Add key staff'. That way all the staff you need, i.e. a physio and assistant manager will be generated for the clubs where there is not one set in the database.

* Are you planning on providing a data update for these teams so they have the correct players and staff etc?

This is not a player data update, no players have been added or their stats amended and I have no intention of adding this information.

* Why does the FA Cup go all the way down to the Extra Preliminary Round when only Level 8 is active?

The reason for this is simple - the first 3 rounds are drawn on the same day, so for the sake of added realism all rounds are included.

* When is the next release/update available?

This is something I cannot tell until it is ready. However the releases will be made of FMUpdates first and shortly afterwards the SI Community. You may even be lucky and get the next version before it is announced by downloading the file.

This is beautiful thank you, but I dont seem to be able to select any database other than the default one. It never allows me to choose.

SOLVED: editor data needs to be in the same folder that option "your games files" is referring to. I had changed its original location.

I'm probably being really thick here but in my preferences I don't seem to have a Display/Sound tab. I've been through all the tabs and can't find the 'Use skin cache' or 'Always reload skin on confirm' tick boxes. Can anyone help?

You know at the top of that screen, below new game, where it says "Editor Data Files" and "Choose Nation". If I click editor data files there, nothing is there.

They rearranged the preferences screen this year. On the left hand side of the preferences screen, are a couple display options and a button that says, "More Interface Options". Click that button and it will take you to what used to be the old Display/Sound screen.

That sounds like a bug to be honest. But if you follow the instructions it works fine, I have tried it myself.

I followed the instructions word for word. I can add the leagues into the database as shown here:

Are you planning to make Step 5(Level 9 leagues) active after the last patch is out somewhere in early March? I'm not gonna start a long-term save till then so I'm wondering if you're thinking including this in the next versions.

I've done some work to ensure that if I do expand to Level 9 that it is as easy as possible. However unless it meets a very high standard (not simply an activation) I will not go to Level 9.

timmytiger69 - The releases are completely different, this is much more than a Level 8 expansion. The work I and others at FMUpdates have done is in order to really enhance the game at this level. I really don't appreciate discussion of other releases in my thread either - they're very easy to find now thanks to the download forum. You won't see me advertising there, do you really think it is ethical?

File isn't loading for me:

Is there anything I'm doing wrong, or can't this file be used in conjunction with other files?

I can't support this with other files in use as I cannot test them.

I must just echo what Gareth has just said. This file is much, much more than a level 7/8 expansion alone. There is so much stuff in it (and more in the future I must add) As mentioned in the OP, accept no substitutes!
