I have many, many promising regens so I may post a fair few screenshots in the coming days. I mainly want advice on how to train them, rather than to show them off.

maurogmezprofileattribu.png

How would you train this lad? He could be a good ball-winner but his aggression and bravery are frighteningly bad. He's a good passer of the ball with great first touch and technique, but he isn't creative or flamboyant. He's only 17, though. What would you do with him? He has very high potential for my PL winners Leeds, and he has the determination to reach it but his spread is weird. I signed him for 2.4m at the start of last season, and Inter are interested if nobody thinks he can make it.

Very difficult regen you've got there Valo.

The physicals will come with time and maybe focussing on strength and jumping should round things off nicely on that front.

Technically he's very competent for perhaps a multitude of roles which is a strong reason for keeping him but the mentals are confusing and may put him off being placed with certain roles. Are there any players in your team in a similar mould of Gomez, might help the situation a bit and see if they are willing to tutor him.

I have nobody in a similar mould because he is unique! In all seriousness though, I only have the aging Mahamadou Diarra from a defensive midfield perspective and his determination is low. The only midfielder that would work really is Ganso, might be worth a try, considering his lowest mental is 12?

Next.

ferdinandovivaldiprofil.png

What position should I develop him to play in? He's natural in four... seems like it take ups a lot of his CA, and I'd imagine that the two-footedness doesn't help.

This guy too.

jeanclaudematteiprofile.png

One-footed, but still the same position dilemma. I play with inside forwards so the fact that he can play left wing and not right is no problem.

I've just secured the signature of a particularly bright young prospect. The attributes you can't see on this screenshot are Corners 16, Crossing 11, Aggression 4 and Anticipation 8. However, I'm not quite sure whether, when he joins me in three years' time, to really work on his mental attributes and keep him in CM or to convert him to an inside forward in the Messi/Ronaldo role. Any advice?

I'm currently playing a 4-3-3 with a holding midfielder and two wingers cutting inside to support the striker. By the time this guy's 18, Paulo Henrique and Miralem Pjanic will be my established creative midfield pairing so he may struggle to break that partnership up. If he were to do so, I'd rather not have to keep one of them on the bench or rotate them too regularly. I'm slightly less well-off in the winger department with Suarez and Downing currently first choice, but I'm contemplating bringing in Hulk or someone similar.

Would be very grateful for any thoughts.

Much better technically and physically than mentally, as you know. If he has good potential, he could develop into a very quick and quite strong player, but his mentals will never be average. For that reason alone I'd be worried about his CM capabilities. Although retraining will take some CA as well.

I decided to start a Barca save to try to purchase and develop the best regens. I've signed a load with 3.0 potential to fill up my youth team, but I've also found a few who look like they could become world-class. I'll update this after a few seasons when they develop.

big_bob, they both look great, especially Arias for his age.

stevie_G, he looks good too. Hopefully he'll keep growing though, as his physical stats could reach a top level if so. And I signed a CB for 500k from Vaslui who went on to become Defender of the Year a couple of times as well as racking up hundreds of appearances for me.

Here are my most pomising regens. I did spend a fair bit on bringing them in but, in the long-term, it will definitley pay off. Here they are;

59andrkhn.png

André looks a ver exciting young prospect. Signed him from Borussia Dortmund for £2 million, once again another great youth prospect to be brought up through Dortmund's youth ranks, following in the foot steps of Mario Götze & Julian Koch. Mentally he isn't fantastic but, I do like a good challenge. I do have the ex-Dortmund left-back Marcel Schmelzer at the club; possibly somone he could look up to. He has a 3 star potetial according to Pat Rice so, he could well be a first-teamer in the near future. A season in the Premier League U18's league couldn't do him any harm.

66timothepfister.png

This man is the future of Arsenal Football Club on my save! He's fantastic. Signed him for £8 million from RC Lens, which is a rather heft amount for a 16 year old but, would I let this kid pass me by like nothing happened can I? My policy is to raise Youth to have ambition to gain a promotion into the First-Team so Pfister will be trying to do that & I'm pretty sure he'll do it soon. You don't get a 4 and a half star potential rating for nothing :D

Some nice prospects If I do say so mysef; I'll keep you up to date with their development.

My newest Regen recruit;

lukehulbert.png

Has a 4 star potential rating. Obviously, he's a left-footed left winger, almost in the Downing mould. Signing him for £2.2 million upfront, with another £2.5 million coming after International & Premier League appearances. As I do like to emabark on a good challenege, I'm going to try & develop this young man into a seasoned English International & a regular in my first-team. Should be a nice player.

I've been playing for years, but I've never had a pair of strikers like these;

Pasquale D'Avino

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/31/avinoprofileattributes4.png/

Andrea Pucci

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/851/andreapucciprofileattri.png/

Both have each other listed as favoured personel. Both are club legends. It actually makes me sad to think that D'Avino doesn't have a lot of years left as a player, which is why I decided to post him here, before it's too late. Just look at his mental stats, it's crazy. I've tried training his jumping and dribbling, but couldn't get them above 14. D'Avino record is 58 league goals in 1 season. Pucci seems to have some more issues with injuries, his record so far is 45 league goals.

At first I was using Pucci as a poacher and D'Avino as trequartista. The last 3 seasons I've been using Pucci as advanced forward and D'Avino as deep lying forward, which seems to work even better. D'Avino was only natural as AMC when he arrived from AS Roma, but I've trained him to be a natural striker.

Great players there jorisjoris. With Pucci, did he always have high-ish work rate when you signed him or did you fine him a few times when he was younger which increased that stat, along with natural progression?

Also if you don't mind, what are both the personalities and media-handling styles of D'Avino and Pucci?

Link to post
Share on other sites

Thanks Lewis.

Both their personalities are described as 'determined'. Pucci's media handling style is level-headed, where D'Avino is outspoken, volatile and confrontational. D'Avino has always been very strong in the mental departement, with great work rate, determination etc. Pucci had a high work rate (I think around 15) when he was 16 years old, but I've had D'Avino tutor him multiple times. From tutoring, his determination has gone from 14 to 19, which is the greatest improvement in this area I've seen so far.

I think the key to these players becoming so (unrealisticly?) great, is that they can play in both AMC and ST position. D'Avino was 'natural' in AMC and 'accomplished' in ST when he arrived, Pucci was the other way around. You can still see this, because D'Avino has higher attributes in flair, passing, concentration etc. Pucci is a better dribbler, and even faster than D'Avino. He's more of a 'specialist', a real poacher, while D'Avino is more all-round.

I'm pretty confident that Pucci's mental stats will reach the level of those of D'Avino. D'Avino was around the same level at that age :)

OK, before anyone complains, yes I know this is from FM06 but I've just got this regen and have to share it.

I'm managing in Iceland and I get some good regens come through most years. The national U19 and U21 teams are very competitve each year. There have been one or two world class Icelandic players come through but no-one like this guy.

kristjanbjarnason.png

But wait... there's a catch...

kristjanbjarnason2ez.png

I have never seen anyone like him. He could be world class in any position but doesn't currently have a position.

Too weak for CB and CM imo, also lacks any aerial ability so he'll be very dodgy in defence.

Think I'd shove him AMC myself, even then though it's hard to see him doing well there. I mean you could even have a punt at him up front, he's more of an attacking player though, that's what I believe.

In 2018 with Preston in the Championship after journeying my way up from unemployed on FM11, not sure if this thread is too active but how is this regen?

I signed him for 350k from the Angolan league, about half my transfer budget and he won't even arrive until 2020 (18 months from now). Any idea why this might be?

Any tips on how to get the best out of him and where to play him?

Link to post
Share on other sites

They only arrive when they are 18 years old mate, some countries have that rule like Argentina and Brazil etc.

He looks good though, individual focus on his 'quickness' and play him in the first team when he comes, he should be a lot better than he is now if their facilities and coaches are any good.
