Ibrahim Affelay

Just signed him on a free transfer in my second season with Liverpool...I was wondering if anyone has had this player on their team and what is he like?

I signed him for £9m over 48months for Sunderland in the first season, he seems to be playing mediocre at the moment, but I suppose I should allow him to settle for a full season. His turn of pace every now and again as an impact sub is brilliant though.

Dont just make a thread, look at other good threads and see what u should do, firstly a screenshot would help, secondly a bit of backround info on or something.

Sorry, well heres the screenshot. I'm going to use him more of a back up or have him on the bench to hopefully show some impact when he comes on, and also if Surez gets injured i've got him to rely on.

He's abit hit and miss, sometimes good sometimes average (in games and over the course of a season)

Iv never bought him, doesnt seem to have the right stats for an AMC and doesnt have enough pace for me on the wing

Hes one of my top players (Im ipswich 4th season mid table premiership) i have had few offers from arsenal and liverpool but didn't want to let him go. i want him to score more but he gets a lot of assists.

A freak in 09 havent used him in 10 yet

I found him to be excellent, got me lots of assists from right wing.

Hes a handy player to have, I have him as an impact sub for Milan where hes quite useful but he wont set the world alight. Great for mid table top tier teams though

he has been quite useful for my West Ham side after i too signed him up in the 2nd season for free, playing backup to my Renato Augusto.

He was fantastic for me in '09, but he could never really break into the starting role regularly. His issue was always consistency; he was a little hit-or-miss. He's also good at a lot of things but not really great at anything, which hurts him a bit.

In my save (I am currently staring my 3rd season, so 2011/12) he moved to Juventus for 9M€ in the July 2009, but didn't play much. Then a year later (almost) in august 2010 he was singed by Arsenal for 20,5M€ and is a first team player (can't post screen shots as those sites are blocked by work, but will post some during the weekend).

He scored the winner for PSV when I played them at home in the Uefa cup, or whatever it's called these days. I lost 1-0, battered them but Milevskyi missed a few sitters. Afellay got man of the match, not only because he scored but because he gave my left back, Wilfred Bouma the run around. He gave Bouma such a torrid time, that I ended up dropping him.

He seems like a great player, who should excel in a free AMC role for any team. However, i'm looking into the possiblity of buying him to play him as a versatile midfielder mainly as winger and even AMC. Anyone has good experience using him as wide midfielder or winger playmaker?

I've been playing him as an inside forward on the left and a winger on the right and he performs well in both roles, great little player, got him on a bosman as well

Statistically he seems kinda dump, but his ratings always seem good and he gets important goals on my game. A must-sign for me.

He is just shy of being either footed, so that should help that great dribbling.

SIGN THIS PLAYER

Seems weird looking at his stats so early on. Was told his PA and I rekon he's reached the max for me.

Signed him in my 2nd seaon for Parma. He's been here for 5 seasons now. Won the Serie A for the first time with him as captain in the last season.

Started out with him on the wing and he averaged 6.99 in his first season. Considered selling him for a decent profit then but stuck with him..

Injuries to ALL my left sided players meant a change of formation and I played him behind the front 2 with 3 ball winning midfielders and behind him.

he averaged 7.14 this year and scored 5 goals.

Next season I taught him to go round the keeper and played him as a trequartista behind the front two. His dribbling and technique both went up to 19 and he finished the season with 13 goals (League) and an average of 7.39.

Next season was similar and he turned in a 7.42 average and 11 league goals to help us qualify for CL.

We won the league the next year and he netted 16 league goals and over 25 in all comps. Average was 7.34. He scored a hat trick in both games against rivals Vicenza and jumped to the top of the clubs favoured personel list.

His attributes took a bit of a crash towards the end of the season as we have a small squad and his natural fitness isn't great but he IS good enough to play at the very top if he reaches his potential.

I've just picked him up on a free for my Liverpool team for 3rd season. He's the replacement for Benayoun. Will be using him as the right sided attacking mid and a 4 man attack, here's hoping he can do the job

Focus traning on attacking and tactics as it will improve his passing, creativity and decisions. It could make him really good behind the strikers.

I play him as an Advanced Playmaker in my AC Milan team and he's been great. Topping the assists chart and hitting some stunning goals from outside the area. A great buy.
