  1. I've brought him into the first team squad for the second season as backup/cup games. He really impressed me during pre-season, and has scored against Rotherham in the cup. I like him so far.
  2. A really poor run of form saw us pick up just 10 points from January untill the end of the season. We finished 8th and missed out on the UEFA Cup, properly fuming. Cabella turned down Marseilles and decided to stick with us. There was plenty of activity in the transfer market; IN - Lewis Cook, Asmir Begovic, Zach Clough, Sam Byram (end of loan), Johnny Evans, James Tarkowski, Danny Drinkwater, Tom Huddleston and Tim Kolodziejczak. OUT- Tiote, De Jong, Perez, Gouffran, Riviere, Coloccini, Williamson, Mbemba and Krul. Predicted line up; Begovic Janmaat----Evans----Tarkowski----Kolodzie Sissoko-----Wijnaldum----Anita----Cabella Mitrovic-----Cisse Really pleased with my transfers, managed to increase the amount of English players at the club, signed 3 really good prospects and added more strength in depth. Hopefully we can be more consistent and get into Europe.
  3. Currently sitting 5th on 45pts in the league in January, 3 points behind Manchester City in 4th and 5 points off of 2nd. Liverpool are in 6th on 41pts. In August I managed to sign Kannemann from Atlas, loan Bruno Zuculini from City and also Sam Byram from Leeds whose currently on a season long loan there. January saw Berbatov and Zapata join. Managed to beat Manchested United and Liverpool at home and Chelsea away. Have run Aresnal and City close. However out of both cups. Cisse, Wijnaldum and Sissoko have been utterly outstanding with special mentions to Mitrovic, Haidara, Anita and Jaanmat who have been superb also. Perez has been poor as has Coloccini, Mbemeba, Williamson and especially Tiote. Siem De Jong has not been able to really prove himself with Mitrovic and Cisse in amazing form. Thauvin, Reviere, Gourcouff and Colback have been excellent squad players. Next season i'm looking to sell Coloccini, Mbemba, Perez and Tiote and replace them with some good solid English players, does anyone have any recomendations?
  4. i have been trying to reinstall FM09 on too my laptop, the only problem is it just installs the version that i have on steam and doesn't leave me with an actual physical copy on my laptop, anybody have any solutions to this problem?
  5. The reason why Evra and Ronaldo could be so attacking down the left hand side is because when United lost the ball Rooney would close down the space on the left hand side and Tevez would also harry the opposition to win the ball back. It is also why United were so dangerous on the counter attack as you had a pressing trio of Rooney/Tevez/Hargreaves or Park, closing down while Ronaldo was left as an outlet and destroy teams on the counter at pace. I can see this type of closing downing being a problem in FM, especially as you have Rooney in the AMCR slot which means he probably won't close down the left hand side, and leave you weak to counter attacks down that side, Rooney's closing down was also why he was placed on the left in games against bigger sides. Have you found that to be a problem for your side?
  6. I've always thought 'Cut Inside' when assigned to wingers creates the kind of movement, moving/running into the space between the center back and full back? While 'Moves into channels' creates a more lateral type movement? I'd like to know what instructions you would use to re-create the Beckham role he played in the '99 United side, the lateral movements he made, coming inside to link up with Scholes and Keane when United had the ball, and the early crosses he made from deep on a break.
  7. Think more David Beckham than Pires and Ljungberg
  8. Signed Kagawa, Adam Johnson, Giroud and Henderson so far in January and maybe Coates and Boudebouz aswell. My team started to lose form during November and December was horrific went with out winning a single game! In January i was getting some very good offers for Jonas, Obertan, Paloschi, Boswinga, Heinze and Forster and so i've managed to revamp my squad! crashed out of the champions league with out a win in the group stages after beating Inter Milan to qualify and got knocked out of the league cup aswell. 9th in the league. So far my stand out player has been Stefan Bell a young german centre half.
  9. I thought Mike Ashley would back me in the transfer market this season after finishing 4th, but nope! Best players were Taylor, Guiterez who scored 13 goals and Sow who scored 21. Trying to flog Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Ba and Wilfried to raise funds and they were poor last season. Diarra and Materazzi's contracts expired and Sociedad signed Xisco. I signed Eyong Enoh in the January transfer window and made Belhanda's loan into a permanent deal. I brought in Amauri on loan aswell and while not scoring his physicality brought the best out of Sow. Brought in Boswinga, Heinze, Paloschi and Lodeiro on free's although Paloschi had a knee ligament injury and has lost alot of his pace also brought in Pandev and Ait Fana to supplement my january buys of Enoh.
  10. After a few attempts at FM12 i decided to start a Newcastle save, have played up to January, heres an overview. Signings In ______________Signings Out Pieters - £3.1m - PSV________Lovenkrands - £1.5m - Ranger Aldrete - £1.9m - Morelia_____Ameobi - £3.5m - Southampton Plamen £500k - Levski________ Smith - £675k - QPR Matterazzi - Free____________ Harper - £900k - Portsmouth Tomkins - £3m - West Ham____Best - £3.5m - Southampton Dawson - £4m - West Brom____Williamson - £3m - Southampton Sow - £8m - Lille_____________Ranger - £1m - Peterborough Wilfried - £2.5m - Vitesse______Perch - £1.4m - Birmingham Diarra - Free_________________Coloccini - £8.5m - Man City Belhanda - Loan - Montpellier___Raylor - £500k - Ipswich I play a 4-4-2 with the wingers pushed up like this; Krul Santon Taylor Tomkins Pieters Tiote Cabaye Obertan--------------- Guitierez Sow ---------Wilfiried Completely gutted my staff and hired all new coaches, physios, scouts and Sammy Lee as my Ass Man. Doing rather well in the league coming in 5th so far on 36 points, 10 wins, 6 draws and 3 losses (1st of Jan) Start of the season i managed 12 games unbeaten and managed last minuet draws against Arsenal and Manchester United (Vukic with last minuet goals!!) and almost drew against Manchester City and Tottenham. Sow is top scorer with 8. Does anyone know how to get the best out of Ba, Wilfried and Ben Arfa? i'm struggling to get them to hit form.
