SWaRFeGa
How wrong I am then! I would have thought the square-shapes underneath the pitch would be undersoil. Oh well.

heathxxx
I've had a pitch like this, but only the once. I did happen to be playing a friendly against a Finnish team in the middle of winter though, so thought it was quite nice to have snow on the pitch. Have seen it once and it's not pleasant on the eyes...not sure what the straight lines are all about but I'd say it's meant to be thawing frost/snow as the main areas through the middle and the penalty boxes are clear.
