  1. Hallo all! Still reading about everyone’s great youth adventures in this thread – KUTGW! Just a quick note to say attempt number four (I think it’s four, I’ve lost count) with Frigg Oslo is going steady. Just about to start season 7, and I’m a perennially mid-table finisher in the Norwegian Second division (third tier). It may not sound like much but after so many relegation dog fights, it’s a welcome change. It’s also been super cool to see the newgens progress and really whip the team in to something more hopeful. Now that I’m steady, I’ll try and post some small seasonal update dating back to the beginning. Heia Frigg!
  2. I look forward to your end of season report. Do you have a link to the video?
  3. Thank you. I think like I said, we weren't good enough in the end, and perhaps, beyond my skillset right now (despite, rather embarrassingly, being a player of the series since the CM days). I think I need a youth challenge were I can enjoy stability in a bottom division for some some time, without the fear of relegation, a place I can get the youth facilities up to speed and the talent from it so I can progress from there. I started to hate some of these Frigg players, most of them, as well as lacking talent, were spineless! I think that one thing I noticed doing this challenge in recent years, with the newgens, you can get some really solid personalities that reveals the poor traits of the original players. Anyway, trying stay positive.
  4. Game over It's another failed attempt for me. I resigned with 7 games left to play – there was no way back from here. It is a shame after some reasonable seasons and some good building up of the facilities.;( I'll come back to Frigg in FM25, I think. For now, I might try a different nation. @HanziZoloman, in all seasons we were punching above our weight – we were way below the division average in nearly all areas. Add to that the loss of morale and it was just so tough in this final season. I also have a feeling that a lot of players had bad traits in their personalities, so when morale went, they played like Sunday league players which meant their mood it games was damaging most of the time (not least in bad form or going behind in games).
  5. Double season review – 2025 and 2026 This save really is like pulling teeth sometimes! Our second season (2025) saw us finish in a pretty lofty 7th place in the league, but we were quickly down to earth with a 10th place finish the following year. That 2026 season saw us avoid the drop with a final day victory at home against Bærum (3-1). Results in the cup were unimpressive in both seasons. One cool thing in our latest season, our goalkeeper, David Knack, scored five goals: three penalties and two cracking free kicks! Decent products from the youth academy have also been thin on the ground – no one has managed – or been good enough – to take a permanent first team place so far, but I am hoping that now our junior coaching is at good and our youth recruitment is excellent, we must surely get something in this next intake (I'm praying!). Finances are still pretty steady so that's a positive. Next season, I plan to switch from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3; I'm hoping it will give us something different going forward, and perhaps make us more flexible overall.
  6. I agree with @fries, try as hard as you get to make gains with morale. Imo, when you are in bad form it’s hard evaluate the performance because the player is impaired by how he is feeling (morale). But I know it’s very difficult when you’re in a rut on FM24. I’ve played seasons where things seem to be going okay, then bang! Out of nowhere, you go on a crazy losing run. I drew the conclusion – after experiencing this in several saves on this year’s FM – that it needs tweaking slightly by SI. I think that because good runs of form also feeling a being a bit easy or go on too long (sometimes). one more thing, I’d never be too harsh in team talks after a defeat, be disappointed sometimes but don’t be furious (unless you feel it will do some good) – I’ve noticed the later can crush morale, and cause other problems as you mentioned. Anyway, best of luck, @HanziZoloman!
  7. It’s been a few years since I actually set up my free kicks or penalties with a GK as the taker so I can’t really remember any names. But what I can say is it’s pretty amazing how much more it makes you like the GK in question. This guy, Kanck, is probably my favourite player so far on any save I’ve had on FM24. It’s weird how it builds this affinity.
  8. Profile 2024 – Season one – 11th Not that much to write about from my opening season in charge of Frigg Oslo (my third attempt on FM24 with them). We started well but tailed off with a dreadful run of one win, three draws and 9 defeats in our remaining 13 matches – that's half a Norwegian season at this level! Luckily, we managed to survive, just! Our "journey" in the Cupen was equally uninspiring with a second round exit against a team in the same division, Vard Haugesund. As far as youth prospects go, they're a few from the 2024 intake that have moderate promise; however, the 2025 batch was truly awful. I also seem to have a board that reject every request for an upgrade which is frustrating. In In the words of D:Ream – things can only get better .. .
  9. It's definitely a bit funky! I hope they will fix soon.
  10. Gutted. Another game over. Such a tough first season in OBOS (as expected) which saw us finish bottom. Sacked with one game left to play. I think I'm gonna give it one more go with Frigg – I'm determined to make it work! Third time lucky?
  11. I have this issue, too. It crept into my save, I didn't have a problem in the first two season. I not using a custom skin either. I'm on Mac Pro M1 Pro.
  12. In other news in Norway in 2025 ... Bodø Glimt have won the Eliteserien title for the three game years: 2023, 2024, 2025. This is pretty realistic. And in the OBOS-ligaen, our only rivals, Lyn Oslo, won promotion to the Norway's top tier.
  13. Frigg Oslo – Season Two (2025) – Promoted! Strange season! Last year, we occupied top spot for much of the season before falling away and losing the title in the final quarter of the season; this season, we were never really competing for top spot at any point, but some how won 6 of our last 7 matches, which in turn ensured us a first place finish. That, of course, would not have happened without Kongsvinger – who sat top of the pile for 21 of the 26 game rounds – self destructing near the end. The club from Innlandet County lost all of their last five games, handing us the title. In the Cupen, we made it to the fourth round before losing out to Vindbjart. The most notable aspect of this cup run was penalty win over Eliteserien outfit, Tromsø. It was bittersweet beating Brodd Stavanger in the third round because I used live about 300m or so from their stadium. Player-wise, we have only one or two youth players in the fringes of the squad, but no one stands out as being that talented at this stage. Of the senior players, Ulrik Ferrer and Marius Cassidy ran the show from an attacking point of view, but it was the latter who picked up the club's player of the year and young player of the year. Next season fills me with dread! Not really sure how we can survive in the OBOS-ligaen (the second tier of Norwegian football) with this squad. Wish me luck!
  14. Frigg Oslo - Season One (2024) Attempt number two at this challenge in FM24 went much better. We topped the league for much of the season, only to be beaten to automatic promotion by our only rivals to speak of, Lyn Oslo. To be fair, though, their starting eleven (and squad) is a lot better than ours – I think only a solid 4-4-2 and keeping morale so high helped us get so close (I didn't manage to **** off a whole bunch of players this time around). As a result of finishing second, we went into the promotion play offs: we suffered a 6–3 aggregate defeat against Fløya IL. It was disappointing but expected since we had failed to win any of our last five league games. Striker Ulrik Ferrer was the standout best player, and he eventually went on to become the team captain after undertaking a leadership course. Ferrer was the only player who managed an average rating above 7.00 over the course of the season. Not really sure what to expect next season, although, I can say I'm ready for a few more seasons at this level before promotion.
  15. Ok, I'm back for a second attempt – I hope this time I can avoid relegation and build something long-lasting. Manager profile
  16. Congrats, @XaW – super impressive to do it so quick! Where next?
