Porthos
Are there passbacks in FM? I havent seen one occur, nor an indirect freekick inside the area.
Taytaz
passbacks? as in passing back to the keeper? Well yes, this occurs and happens multiple times per match...
MrBannystar
i've never seen a free kick in the area for a passback, it'd probably be better if it wasn't in the game, otherwise people would be moaning when it happens to them and complain about it being a 'bug' and happening too often for it to be realistic. Porthos
passbacks? as in passing back to the keeper? Well yes, this occurs and happens multiple times per match... I mean passbacks as in the keeper picking the ball up after a defender plays it back, resulting in an indirect freekick.
ArsenalFan7
I've only ever seen one IFK but that was due to a glitch I had happen to me. I may have also seen another but cannot remember, either way my side didn't score from them! So they must be there but you never really witness them. ElRabiosa
No because passing back and keeper picking it up is a mistake from the keeper, it wouldn't happen in any game like FIFA or Pes and won't ever happen in FM
ArsenalFan7
FM is a lot more realistic unlike the other two though? Not sure what you're getting at, it does happen in real life so it should be possible in FM.

mojojojo101
I've seen 1 but it was on FM09, not seen one since (although I've seen keepers pick the ball up outside the area a few times as well). To be fair it's not very common in real life. I can only remember one incident vaguely which resulted in Alan Shearer smashing a ball into the top corner from 7 yards out... here:

I can only remember one incident vaguely which resulted in Alan Shearer smashing a ball into the top corner from 7 yards out... here: Well it does happen a fair bit more often in lower leagues .. at least at the levels I have played at (Amateur level). Maybe a few times a season on average, does it happen in a game I am in. As for FM, I have seen an IFK in the box once in total game time over the whole series. I think it was FM09. That was because of obstruction being called in the penalty box.
Shake Appeal
I've seen players (deliberately?) handball, and keepers booked for handling outside the area, so I imagine this is in there, but even more rare. As it should be; I'm not sure how many times I've even seen it happen at a professional level.
robertcornell68
I don't think they do exist but they're incredibly rare IRL, so it doesn't make a lot of difference.
Smurf
As rare as they are, I don't that FM has it built in for indirect free kicks inside the area, or for pass backs. I just don't think they included them at all.
postal postie
back-passes happen alot in my game. usually when the keeper is sprawled across the floor after having made a diving save.

WHS^^, FM is not capable of simulating indirect freekicks inside the area, it's why we used to see penalties given for obstruction (impeding) in older versions of the game. Smurf
I'm sure it's some sort of programming nightmare.
ArsenalFan7
this happened to me last year. they are in the game, unless they've removed it for this FM (never happening), [video=youtube;frFOBP2SRFg]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frFOBP2SRFg&list=UUOCr1LmTerFZWWszCSflVFQ&index=13&feature=plcp
SCIAG
That isn't right at all though. Handling a passback is not a red card offence, and it says "deliberate handball". I think it's a "referee forgets that goalkeepers are allowed to handle the ball" rather than a passback. There aren't even indirect free kicks outside the area on FM. Though you may sometimes see it mentioned that the free kick is indirect (and there are free kicks from offside as well), if it goes straight in then a goal will be awarded. Swindon69
Really - I'd not noticed that.
cruyff14
Think it was mentioned on here a long time ago but I'm not certain maybe one of the SI guys could confirm but I'm sure the pass back isn't included into any football game because it's so difficult to code or get the balance of it right, something along those lines anyway.
