Makoto Nakamura Posted August 22, 2017 Author Share Posted August 22, 2017 October 2020 Not exactly setting the world alight with goals and drawing away to both Sunderland and Newcastle sees us fall down to 3rd but we managed to beat Man Utd in the league and Chelsea in the EFL Cup where we'll now meet Stoke in the Quarter Finals. In the Champions League it's looking really close, but not for Celtic. We've also lost one of the few foreigners Edimilson Fernandes for 4-5 months with a damaged achilles tendon. In the league we're still unbeaten and just 2 points off the top but we have a disgruntled Reece Oxford who wants to join Man Utd since he doesn't think we can ever win the league. We destroyed CF Pachuca in the Club World Cup and we've qualified for the 1st knockout round of the Champions League as group winners! And we're still unbeaten in the league still! We look very likely to qualify for the Quarter Final of the Champions League following a 4-0 away win against Sevilla and we scrape another EFL Cup win following a penalty shootout against Liverpool. We also lost the Champions League to Tottenham who will qualify for the group stage despite finishing 9th and Newcastle qualifying for the Europa League by winning the FA Cup. We're still doing slightly better than I expected after 11 games and even though we drew away to Sparta Praha we're sitting top of the group still. And an unbeaten month in the league sees us tying on points with Juventus in 2nd. They may have a game in hand but it's still a great spot to be in! We're out of the TIM Cup and now 9 clear of Empoli even though they managed to beat us with 12 left still to play we're looking like a solid 3rd. In the Europa League we've drawn FC Kobenhavn in the 2nd Knockout Round who seem like an easy tie but they beat Benfica 5-3. The under 20's won something!
