40 counties have been selected by users on this forum, and 4 players, and 1 manager, have each been entered by these counties into a draft. This evening, the draft has been conducted, and each county has randomly received 4 players and a manager.

At 9.15pm, I will announce the results of the draft :D

In the mean time, I will talk about the structure of the County Championship

There are 4 divisions. The First and Second division contain 9 teams, third and fourth 11 teams

There are also 3 cup competitions. The Twenty20 Cup is the main cup and is open only to teams in the top two teirs. The first phase is the group stage, 9 teams in 2 groups, play each other twice in a round robin, and the top 4 advance to the quarter finals, and so on until we have a winner. The winner qualifies for European competition

The MCCA Knockout Trophy is similar to this, but it is open only to teams in the bottom two teirs. There are two groups of 11 teams, but a difference is, in this round robin phase, they only play each team once. Likewise, top 4 advance to the quarter finals, etc. etc.

The other cup is the County Cup, which contains all teams and is unseeded. It is a straight knockout tournament.

Last minute Leicestershire team!

Aruna Dindane, Fabio Coentrao (just joined R.Madrid for £30m), Iker Casillas, Cristiano Ronaldo and managed by Pep!

Warwickshire: Jay DeMerit, Zoltan Gera, Ashley Cole, David Villa (Mancini)

Bloody amazing draw!! :D

I see the reason I didn't sign up for this (aside from the non-county entities of Cumbria and the two island sides) has come true - the draw's been incredibly unfair to some.

Whilst I admit my system of first come first serve isn't ideal too, at least that ensured all the (chosen) teams had strongish players.

Cambridgeshire: Manucho, Darren Bent, Hamka Hamzah, Nicolas Otamendi (Quique Flores)

Cheshire: Daniele de Rossi, Guiseppe Rossi, Daniel Larsson, Pablo Piatti (Guus Hiddink)

cambridgeshire is a lost case for sure XD

Looks like both are for 4th Division...

Well maybe Berkshire can compete in 3rd Div..

The randomness of it will inevitably leave some teams weaker than others, but there was always that risk when people put weaker players into the hat

Divisions 3 + 4 for Dorset and Devon respectively isn't too bad to begin with.

Two decent managers in Redknapp for Dorset and Hoddle for Devon is good news.

Good player spread too, mix of banterous but useless as well as the best in the biz. The draw is kind to me! :D

EDIT: Even got Kameni whom I picked!

Shropshire Giorgio Chiellini, Igor Akinfeev, Sone Aluko, Phil Jones. Valdir de Moraes

Staffordshire Khouma Babacar, Sergio Aguero, Cheick Tiote, Gerard Pique. Lito Vidigal

Aiming for 1st and 2nd in division 3 with those players. :D

Edit: Crikey, just seen how good de Moraes is, wow! Shropshire is the place to be

I was planning on running this on full detail but it's been taking ages and the game's only up to February. I'll leave it until the end of the season and then put it on lower detail.

There should be an update later tonight with the first season, if it actually finishes! :D If not then tomorrow morning :D

Not gonna give too much away, but the game is in February and already the Division One title has been wrapped up, the team's main striker has already scored 59 league goals :o

You'll have to wait to see which team that is ;)

County Championship 2010-11

div12011.png

Warwickshire dominated the season right from the off. Despite losing 3 of their original players in the January transfer window, their key striker, David Villa, stayed, and scored 67 goals in the process. They'll need him for the upcoming Champions League campaign, but they can they hold on to him this time? Lancashire and Worcestershire also had strong seasons and will be in the Europa League next season. At the other end of the table, it was a three way battle for two relegation spots, but a strong end of the season, including a last day win over Somerset, for Durham, ensured they would be staying up at the expense of Sussex and Somerset.

div22011.png

It was neck and neck throughout the season, but Kent edged Leicestershire to claim the Division Two title. Glamorgan's Gonzalo Higuaín scored 83 times but clearly it wasn't enough. Gloucestershire had a shocker of a season, and Essex lost their last 7 games to ensure those two would be playing in Division Three next season.

div32011.png

65 goals from Edinson Cavani no doubt helped Bedfordshire to the title, whilst Cambridgeshire edged Cheshire to the other promotion spot. Cornwall and Lincolnshire were the teams condemned to life in the bottom teir.

div42011.png

The Isle of Wight's Pato helped his team by scoring 69 goals, deservedly winning the Division Four title. The race for second was tighter, and it went to the final day to decide it, with both teams facing each other, but a 2-0 win for Berkshire ensured their place in Division Three

Cups

In the Twenty20 Cup, the final was contested between Leicestershire and Warwickshire. Warwickshire, who had been so dominant in winning the Division One title, were beaten heavily by 6-2. Cristiano Ronaldo scored 4 times, Aruna Dindane with the other two for Leicestershire. Regen Lee Bartle and David Villa got on the score sheet for Warwickshire, but it was Leiestershire's day, and they have earned themselves a place in the Europa League

The MCCA Knockout Trophy saw Staffordshire and Bedfordshire compete, and there was nothing to separate the sides, with a 1-1 draw, goals from Sergio Aguero and Edinson Cavani respectedly. The match went to penalties, and Bedfordshire won 3-2, to complete a double.

The County Cup was fought between Division Two Kent and Division Three Shropshire, and it was a 4-2 victory for Kent, goals from Luis Suarez (2), Gael Nlundulu and Hulk, despite Shropshire leading 2-1 at half time, with Sone Aluko and regen Eifion Stephens scoring.

16.2.11 - Sussex: Brendan Rodgers (sacked), replaced by Terry Burton (previously assistant manager at Cardiff)

5.3.11 - Somerset: Iain Dowie (sacked), replaced by Peter Shirtliff (previously assistant manager at Swindon)

Division Four

5.2.11 - Isles of Scilly: Roy Hodgson (sacked), replaced by Obbjørn Joensen (previously unemployed)

There have also been some changes in terms of the chairman, with some takeovers and attempted takeovers.

Berkshire - Just after the end of the season in May, a member of the Fans Trust, Martin Lisberg took control

Derbyshire - In August, right at the beginning of the season, local Faroese businessman Óli Hansen became the new chairman

Northamptonshire - Tycoon Japie Dixon failed in September to take over the club, but in March, a consortium, led by Frenchman Simon Tahar, succesfully took control.

Suffolk - In early August, just before the start of the season, Danishmen Flemming Østerngaard led a consortium that took control of the East Anglian side.

Surrey - In September, a consortium led by Frenchman Charles Villeneuve took control.

unfortunatly after seeing the transfer lists ive kind of lost interest very quickly.

De Gea sold for under £2M?! replaced by some guy from Oldham? sorry...

Middlesex have still got Torres and Sneijder!

All the transfers seem to be for really small amounts......

Yeh I don't really know why. All the clubs have a fair amount of money so it's not like they all needed to sell for the first offer
